What a coincidence, I was just watching the movie 'Sink The Bismarck'.
Also, the HMS Hood is not a battleship, she is classified as a battlecruiser.

Admiral Holland should have shadowed the Birmarck until other heavy British fleet units joined up to take on the Bismarck & Prince Eugen. That was an option open to him.
