What a great version of From Me To You!The driving drumbeat is just out of this world.I believe it was just released around this time April63.The 2 songs on this recording demonstrate just how tight they were as a live band.
EMI house, Manchester Square, London. Had a small theatre where Radio Luxembourg shows were recorded and this was a show for EMI execs. They made appearances on Friday Night Special and also recorded versions of Carol, Lend Me Your Comb and Soldier of Love for Radio Luxembourg there for It's The Beatles.
Its great to hear the very early days and see the original beatles design on the drum kit. George looks so young here, just having turned 20 weeks before
I should mention, I have never been a fan of the song, and feel it uniquely represents a sort of “sell-out” to their poppy-for-teens side. I’ve always thought it was their worst early single (by far). Yet this performance illustrates nuances, especially vocals that are just delightful. It has made me question my opinion of the song while also reminding me how incredible a voice Paul had/has. John ain’t bad either.
This is day after the Stowe School show. They also played the yet unreleased From Me To You at that show. Just think of hearing the Beatles previewing a song before its release!
Not heard this before but like a lot of archive material from that early period, it's always more interesting than their later 'Beatlemania' shows. How good do their voices sound together? Almost other worldly in their synchronicity. Strange, because they're not refined like a singing group and yet they sound like one. Very different sounding and that really comes through even now.
Wow never heard this before! Excellent!! Have they released the whole show? I wonder if the MAL AI thingy could separate everything for a mix. Sounds great here anyway though.
There's a imperfection to the recording or transfer of the original recording which puts a flat front on everything a little bit. It takes away some of the distinct characteristics of their voices. Just like what other old crappy recordings or crappy transfers of recordings do.
I just can't believe it! George Harrison just couldn't play those few notes during the break on From Me To You! He couldn't even play the Please Please Me melody, which John plays on Harmonica, without sounding like an amateur! George had such thin and delicate fingers which were only effective in chord playing! His solos are atrocious! It's about time someone says what a lousy Guitar soloist George really was betwen 1957~1968! What chutzpah! George was always complaining on how he hated being a Beatle and happy he was when the group broke up! George should have been relegated to playing Bass! I'm sure there were many Guitar players in Liverpool who were much better than George that would have loved to be in the Beatles! Paul McCartney should have been The Beatles Lead Guitarist! George Harrison actually admitted that he never practiced! George didn't realize how truly lucky he was to know James Paul McCartney who essentially persuaded John to accept him in the band! John truly never respected George as a musician and composer! I'm sure John, being a Guitarist, knew what a truly rotten Guitar player George truly was! John rarely participated in sessions in which one of George's songs was being recorded! John would say, and I'm paraphrasing, the only reason I got involved with him is because Paul brought him and asked if he could also join the band!
Can you just imagine being lucky enough to have witnessed the young Beatles at their most exciting as they were being discovered by the world.
Have you seen their performance from the day before at Stowe school Roxbury hall? 😳

Released 6 days later. Exciting!
I think that was rather grand. I'd take one home with me.

20 weeks ago George turned?
My comment was clumsy George had his 20th Birthday just before this was recorded @@mangomonkey6938
My writing was clumsy George had celebrated his 20th birthday a few weeks before this was recorded
It’s so clear it’s unbelievable, thank you for the upload!! Love the rare stuff like this!!
So much vitality and energy. I will always love them ❤
That’s the best version of “From Me To You” I’ve ever heard (including the record).
It’s not a great SOUND per se, but a wonderfully-rich performance.

Love to see them happy and singing thanks!
The harmonies were brilliant, especially considering the gear they were singing through, not an ounce of reverb anywhere from what I can tell.
Look at the "The Beatles" logo on the bass drum of Ringo's kit : the "B" recalls the shape of a beetle ! ^^
Now officially my favorite versions of "From Me To You" and "Please Please Me."
Thank you for the rarities. Merci pour ces trésors.
Thanks so much for uploading this!
that wonderful change in "From me to you" though!
Beatles Forever ❤💓✌️
One, Two, Nine! Classic Paul
I love the old stuff. You really make my day !
Great audio, fantastic to hear the lads having a great time.

Well done, sir, very clear! Thank you!
Live Beatles with no screaming fans in 1963…very rare
It was a private concert at EMI
@@thebeatlesraretracks3969 except for the BBC recordings, The Beatles playing live with no screaming, wherever it was, is rare
Much better audio then the Stowe School Concert. Too bad it's only two songs.......

cool
Love it, the Beatles hit the charts at #1 in the UK & ready to burst into the American market, killer ! ...

The day after Stowe.
❤❤❤❤
This is a minor point, but if this performance was to recognize going silver with “please please me”, why wouldn’t you play that song first??? 😳
… And then play the new single!
John seen a ufo even the teenage aliens loved the Beatles and john
5th April, 1963, EMI House, LONDON... not Manchester.
Manchester Square
Musical geniuses hitting the ground running.
Waiting for the AI mix!
I did it back in September, no one watched it :(

It don't sound like the Beatles. It sounds sort of like the Beatles.
🤫
And yet it is The Beatles.😊

Please Please Me; so overtly sexual. Way ahead of their time.

Another crappy Guitar solo from George Harrison on From Me To You!
He sounds like an eight year old!
