- I've been looking for a compact portable folding camping fire pit & BBQ/Grill to carry in the campervan and found this pop up fire pit which seemed to suit my needs perfectly. So is it a good buy and does it make my list of Top 10 campervan essentials? YES!
It comes in 2 sizes - Medium & Large.

I've used it only once to demonstrate it for this video and look forward to using the fire pit more when camping and also the BBQ grill.
I'll feedback more as and when I use it.
It left just a tiny bit of ash in the base - I used the open lid as a base to catch this.
My first impression is that this is going to be an invaluable piece of equipment to carry in the van. It's reasonably priced, sturdy, compact and easily stored.
Only time will tell how well it lasts, but on first impressions it's a GOOD BUY and gets a big thumbs up from me 👍

I’ve begun vlogging my solo travels in ‘Vanya’, to help me re-engage with life after losing my husband 2 years ago. Working through my grief has been the hardest & loneliest challenge imaginable. Some days it still knocks me completely sideways, maybe it always will? I really don't know, but I'm coping a little better all the time.
By returning to the vanlife we enjoyed so much together, revisiting a love of photography, and immersing myself in nature, I’m regaining strength, balance, and hope to move forward through this completely unforeseen next chapter of life.

Hi Sue. We have a similar unit. But doesnt have the bottom bit that goes on the ground so we put a saucepan or tray underneath with water in so it extinguishers any ashes that fall through. So doesn't burn the grass. Had it over 4 years now and still works great. We use mainly brickets as fuel. Easy to store in motorhome. Cheers from old George . Product is great.

That looks compact and well designed - we are never sure about the cleaning up and smell so interesting to see how you get on
Oh I love an open fire (when permitted). It’s one of my favourite parts of camping. I’ll be updating how I get on with it 😊👍🏻

Sue this looked absolutely brilliant. I liked how you opened it and in doing so it helped us to see the size of it. I thought it was sy compact and I'm guessing quite lightweight and easily portable and you got a good fire going in it. Great price too. Thanks for this demo, I loved it. Thanks :)

Yes, it's new so I gave it a good wash the next morning! It cleans up well so will be low maintenance. Look forward to bringing it along on our trips xx

Hi Sue, well I did it. Sunday night my first wild camp on my own. Thought I'd b anxious but it was ace and I slept like a log. Shame I had to come back to mommy/wife and work.

Hi Sue. This looks like an interesting bit of kit. We can't get into the whole external gas bbq thing and don't want the extra weight it means, so this could be an alternative as it's compact and seems fairly light. Hello both. We used to carry a lotus grill bbq in the motorhome but it’s too big for the campervan so I’ll use that at home now. Also I’ve been after a foldable combined fire pit/BBQ but didn’t like the price of most of them. I’ll be showing how I get on with it and hope to use it a lot this summer. Take care, Sue 😊
Looks good and very compact to store 👍. Once you've bbq'd on it let us know how the food turn out. The rate that home energy bills are soaring, we might all be sat outside in our gardens/yards next winter using such as these to cook on and keep warm 🤣🤣

Iv got this fire pit, mines like half the size though. And I don’t have that metal try at the bottom. At least I don’t think I have.
I haven’t used it yet so thanks for showing me how to haha.
They do a medium and a large and mine is the large which seems just the right size. The tray at the bottom is the metal case it comes in. I just put it there to catch any ash there might have been (there was minimal). It's so easy to put together even I could do it 😊👍
Not a bad purchase. Was hoping to use ours tonight but ours is heavier than that.
As you know I need to be cleverer with storage nowadays and this is a great bit of kit for my van, sturdy but light and unusually for camping gear these days it didn't cost the earth! 👍

Looks a great bit of kit. We've had similar ones made of black steel. You'll have to let us know how it goes after a few uses. Checked out the link and they've sold out of the large ones. 😐🚙
The smaller will suit many people it depends what you’ll use it for really. It’s that time of year I suppose but will no doubt re-stock at some point and prob other places selling it. ATB Sue 😊

Hi, no it isn't messy at all (I had to google 'clat' 😂). Just swept out the bits of ash and wiped down. Cleans easily and if I was out and about in the van, just wiping it down would do. Good piece of kit 👍
