I have been crocheting since I am 9 years old and I learned as a right handed person, as a lefty I adapted and have been selling my handmade knit and crochet items for about 45 years. It is totally a meditation for me. When my son died I grabbed my hook and yarn and began making prayer blankets for all the special people in my life. I’m far from done but my blankets are dedicated to my oldest child’s memory and crochet saved my life

Hey! I love this pattern! My little one is obsessed with dinos so this is great! However, my parts are coming out very elongated compared to yours. I think it might be I have too much tension but someone also told me to see if it you were doing “yarn over” or “yarn under “ I’m not sure if it would make that big of a difference though.
@@cshauna9110 I am just doing regular yarn over....but the legs get tied so they start out very long before the knot goes in....maybe that's it? If your head is coming out way too long I'd just remove a few rounds in the middle to your liking, I hope this helps!
Thank you for this beautiful pattern. I learnt how to crochet in grade 6 or 7 and my mom was right handed and I am left handed. This year I started to challenge myself and started to do tapestry crochet to make todebags, and I didn't like the way how the wool looks when you turn your work so I practice to crochet right hand and with that I do not turn my work anymore, I go down in a row let say row 1 then I chain how many chains is needed in pattern and go down row 2 with my righthand😅😅😅😅. I wanted to make a RUclips video to teach people to do that but boy oh boy I don't want to cause people can be pretty ugly on video comments. I'm now 39 years. But I love your video❤❤❤

A little confused. In the video when we hit row 12, you say 36 st around from rows 12-18. On the screen it says rows 12-21. BTW I am a chrocheter that just started for the second time lol. My grandma taught me when I was 10. I stopped til just last year and now am picking it up again. I wanted to do plushies but have discovered blankets. My goal is to eventually do farmers markets and maybe sell on Etsy. Lots of practice lol.

Cannot for the life of me get the spikes.. did it with a darker wool and since it’s so thick, 4 SC in a MR are just too close together. Tried it 17 times now and every single time I’ve failed, it’s infuriating ):
My rows did not line up so I changed where the increases were so that the bumps on the top of the tail lined up. I just eye balled it. Love this pattern

It takes practice, you'll look for the little V the same as regular yarn but can be a little trickier to see, so counting and feeling helps a lot!
Try with a light color first! I find dark colors hard to I identify but it’s simpler when you go light!

I am using bernat blanket yarn I cannot get the head shape right. It's way to long

With the bernat blanket yarn I am using a 4mm hook and took out a row or two and it worked out great. Thanks for the tutorial

Question. Are the rounds supposed to line up? I am new to this and picked this as a project to build for my baby boy but seem to be struggling.
When working in the round you will have a seam that creates a diagonal angle....so no, they don't quite like up
