I always learn something from these videos, I’ve been riding for years but you can always learn something new. I’m 55 yrs old been riding since 1989 and I promise you can always learn something everyday. The day you stop learning is pathetic day you stop riding or unfortunately you’re no longer amongst us. No matter what always remember it’s not how fast you go but how well you can come to a stop………rubber side down. Thanks tall. Hey Tall Cam here!!! You may not remember me but before i knew who you are,we met at a subway where i worked. I didn’t know that you rode bikes. Thank you for being a blessing in knoxville to me. I recent left and went back to Flint,MI!!! Today i was able to get my motor cycle endorsement today!! i took my class at bootlegger in April!!!

As bikers we should review safety measures periodically to keep us sharp on the road. Thanks for the lesson!
One tip I would like to add to that I had to implement in traffic in Delaware was using my hazards when noticing traffic that stopped abruptly. I had cars speeding and when traffic stopped I heard tires burning rubber to avoid a collision. I had to pull off to the shoulder to avoid being hit. When they noticed my flashers they backed off.
I park towards the back for visibility too. Sometimes people think the spot is empty and pull in a little too fast
Good stuff… I’d add one of the most important rules (IMO) is to look for an escape route when you’re coming to a stop and to position your bike in the lane where you can most easily access that escape route. That also means not stopping so close to the car in front of you that you have no where to go when you see whatever it is in your rear view mirror growing bigger at a rate you know is trouble.
I also agree about leaving the bike in gear at a stop. However, if I do put the bike in neutral, it’s not until there is a vehicle completely stopped behind me.

The reason you see mounting or dismounting from the high side is a safety practice when you step off the low side on the side of the road you step off into the traffic flow side
I understand why they do it but I don't know why regular people do it. If I was trying to avoid stepping in traffic I'd probably do it in that case. Thanks for watching and commenting.

That motorcycle weights over 800lbs. You're not going to knock it over mounting from the floor boards on either side.

Regarding the riding in the right side of the lane, for me, it's completely situational. On the less traffic prone highways around here it's way safer to ride in the middle/left of the lane. It gives you way better visibility for what's up ahead and more options to react. In urban traffic, it's case by case.
Also, in the city riding on a 4 lane road, I always ride in the left lane. There are too many opportunities for cars to not see you and jump out in front of you if you’re riding in the right lane. I’m still working on where to stop in the lane at a stop light in an attempt to prevent a rear ender into the back of my motorcycle. I stop to the extreme right or left and watch the mirrors for a car not stopping.
Thank you , thank you, thank you for suggesting placing both feet down when completing a stop. I ride an Ultra Classic and it's just not comfortable keeping the foot on the brake while stopping ... the bike is just too heavy. I've watched other content creators preach keeping the foot on the brake.. I tried it and just didn't feel comfortable. I appreciate your tutorials and as always, keep up the awesome stories and training. God Bless.

So why not back into the space? With the need to be seen, if you are backing that bike out of that spot, there is also a chance you won't see the hurried driver who does not see that bike coming out of the spot.

I always hold front brake. I always go to neutral/pull clutch in when I start bike. I always park in 1st. (Cant understand why I would want my wheels to move freely when I park a bike.)
I ride left side of lane always. When I want to make a right (if there is a bike behind me) I move over to the right ahead of time to make the bike behind me back off. Also when bikes ride together riders start sightseeing and pay less attention to bike in front of them.

Good stuff Tall ! You need to learn how to get on and off the bike on the high side , it takes practice if you get off the bike on the low side on the interstae you could get killed by an on-coming car that's why law enforcement gets on and off on the high side!

Great tips tall! I do much of the same, especially with the parking space. I gotta say too, I ride a XL sportster at 6ft, but you make that road glide look small! 😂

I ride in zone 3. The reason I do is so cages in front of me can see me in the side mirror on the driver's side. If I have to make a right hand turn, I'll move over into zone 1 before the turn, if I'm riding solo. In a group, I signal the group behind me by hand first. On a 4 lane, I ride zone 3 in lane 1 and zone 1 in lane 2. Not saying it's right or wrong, it's just how I ride. MLHR.

That's a Minute to long for idle, its not a Panhead or Shovel, the oil filters keeps oil in the oil passages kind of like a modern fuel pump keep fuel in the line and fuel rail.
Is there a tip or do you think there will be an aftermarket lock as the 2024 models gas cover doesn’t lock?

At 8:07 I’ve driven my motorcycle to work and got in my semi truck to run my route got back to clock out go to my motorcycle and the mirrors are in a different position. Some people respect motorcycles etiquette look but don’t touch but some respect nada and will actually throw a leg over your bike when your not around ( I’m convinced of that because why are my mirrors readjusted? ) if your not actually sitting on the bike.?
People mess with bikes all the time. Kids make tik-tok videos leaning and dancing on people's Lambos there's no boundaries anymore, people don't respect other people's stuff anymore.

Left hand turns are more dangerous.
I recently test drove a 2024 road glide and My hands got numb and my didn’t feel good when I got off the bike . anyone know why? I haven’t road a motorcycle in 8 years and it’s always been sports bikes
Its the bars. They have your shoulders to close together pinching a nerve. Get new wider bars.

That threw me off my hands were numb for a couple hours . Like I said I’ve driven sports bikes before and never felt that numbness before
The vibration. Happened to me when I switched from street to Harley as well. Now only happens on long long rides.
After not riding for 8 years, you probably had a death grip on the bars. That can cause you hands to go numb.
Are those stock bars ?
I know motorcycle riding truck Drivers would rather have the bike to stay closer to the truck so they can be seen in the mirror easier.
I'm not talking about close enough to where you could reach out and touch the side of the trailer. Just don't go to the left as far as you could just give the driver more space to see you.
