Well done Stephen on a comprehensive video. I didn't know such a book existed prior to watching this video. Just two observations from an NVQ L3 Electrotechnical Assessor that may assist anyone undertaking the AM2; I encourage apprentices to use LINE to identify the 3 line conductors instead of LIVE as the neutral is also determined as a "live" conductor. Secondly, I insist that apprentices put the test probe (the one without the indicating lights) onto the zero potential first when proving "DEAD" at the single phase voltage L-N and L-E part of the procedure, in case the unconnected test probe would become "live" due to a back-feed. Apparently these are two failure areas in the AM2 assessment if not correctly observed.
An excellent and professionally produced video. Good clear content presented in an interesting manner.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Good clear video,thanks
Very good video! Only one issue. Student have asked about permision to switch the power off on the beginning before he isolated DB(shower circuit). Unfortunetely there is no instruction what to do after he finishes the job on shower circuit. Before he switch power back on he supposed to ask again for permision to do so in case somebody else would be working on that circuit without his knoledge (or on another circuit in case isolating whole DB as this could result in an accident-electric shock).
Thank you for your comment and I am glad that you like the
video. We are always happy to receive comments and suggestions as they help us
to provide useful guidance. The safe isolation video is intended to help
students pass assessments set by awarding organisations. If, in the
workplace, more than one skilled person is working on an installation each
person should carry out the safe isolation procedure and have their own locking
devices in place for the circuit they are working on. If a hasp is used then
additional padlocks can be placed to avoid the installation being re-energised
until the last padlock is removed. I will look into providing more
information and guidance on safe isolation in respect of what to do when two or
more skilled persons are working on an installation or circuit.
Thanks
Guy sounds like Garth Marenghi.
Ask, knock, lock, key, sign, prove, test, prove👍
Well rubbish this was just sat in lesson bored and Kev pincher made us watch it
