So long, I've been looking too hard I've been waiting too long Sometimes I don't know what I will find I only know it's a matter of time When you love someone When you love someone It feels so right, so warm and true I need to know if you feel it too Maybe I'm wrong Won't you tell me if I'm coming on too strong? This heart of mine has been hurt before This time I want to be sure I've been waiting for a girl like you to come into my life I've been waiting for a girl like you, your a love that will survive I've been waiting for someone new to make me feel alive Yeah, waiting for a girl like you to come into my life You're so good When we make love it's understood It's more than a touch or a word can say Only in dreams could it be this way When you love someone Yeah, I really love someone Now, I know it's right From the moment I wake up 'til deep in the night There's nowhere on earth that I'd rather be than holding you tenderly I've been waiting for a girl like you to come into my life I've been waiting for a girl like you, your a love that will survive I've been waiting for someone new to make me feel alive Yeah, waiting for a girl like you to come into my life I've been waiting, waiting for you, ooh Ooh, I've been waiting (Waiting) I've been waiting, yeah (I've been waiting for a girl like you, I've been waiting) Won't you come into my life? Ah
I haven't been depressed in a long time. A person can only take so much, betrayed 💔 over and over 💔 I'm a good sweet person and people stomping on me, where it stops...It doesn't 😢 I Love this song and always will.
I went to their Live "Foreigner Live in Japan, 1985". At that time, I got a autograph (with a message) from one of Foreigner's staff. The message was "Waiting For A Girl Like You". I was very happy. So, When I listen to this song, I feel like this song takes me back to the 1985.
Blast from the past! I believe I heard this on the bus to school in the early 90s. I was curious about what it was, mainly because of the synth riff, And for some reason, I was reminded of it, and needed to find it, but I didn't know what to look for. But I just heard it on TV, and the mystery was solved. And 1981? This is an example of when 70s retro meets 80s pop/rock.
As a 14-year old, when this was originally released in 1980, I had no concept what the term "ethereal" meant. This was also right on the cusp of the New Age movement, which was yet again, something I could not grasp or define. To be clear, I am NOT lumping this song into any such category, or anything remotely of the sort. And yet, hearing this song....from the very first time....resonated with me like nothing else before ever had, and shook me to my foundation in a way that caught me completely off-guard. The atmospheric overtones of the synth parts, the textures of the sonic landscape, and Lou Gramm's deep and meaningful lyrics about that which the heart often cries for the most....this song still, even 40 years later, triggers those responses. It shakes my soul, and bathes my thoughts in a landscape of sound and color unlike anything else. I cannot put it into proper words. Only that it continues to transport me to a different place and time. Those synth parts are, even to this very day, like a musical aphrodisiac to my brain. I have always been, and ever shall be, a fan of Foreigner's entire catalog. But for me, this song is their magnum opus.
Many, many fond memories of my youth. Now I am 52 years old and am just reminiscing whenever I listen to it. It has so much life and I can't get enough of listening to it.
@Melanie Mccallum music is powerful it's a form of worship in the church and has a big effect on emotions I believe it is a problem in the last few decades of cop killing gang banging hoe hating garbage they call music refuse to listen to any of that garbage 🗑️🗑️🗑️
A strange but true piece of trivia about the song Waiting For A Girl Like You: the keyboards on this song were played by Bob Mayo, the legendary keyboard player on the album Frampton Comes Alive by Peter Frampton. Mayo also toured with Foreigner around this same time.
I know. The love I have now is very rare it's like no other love I have ever had before it's a love I shall hold on to very tight and never let go of it it's the best love I have ever known. It's like living in heaven on earth. I can not be any happier then I am now. This live is the best thing that has ever happened to me in my life. I shall never let go of it. It's a real good thing its love. And love is baeutiful.
This song is so beautiful and will never get die. Its just a breath of fresh air from songs these days. I miss the good old days in the 80s when I was a teenager❤️❤️❤️😘👍
My mom told me back 37 years ago when she was in labor waiting for my arrival, they used to play the radio. She said coincidentally THIS SOMG PLAYED as I was making my debut!! Lol. Cooool as hell!!!!!!
Jesus...chills listening to this - reminds me of being a kid in NJ - when times were much simpler - when people actually gathered around and spent time together in person 😊

I'm 760 years old, and I've been enjoying this song for 11 minutes when I first heard about it on MTV's Top 20 countdown!
About time someone was honest with their age!😛
@@mikespearwood3914 concordo, esconder é guase impossível!!👍
So long, I've been looking too hard
I've been waiting too long
Sometimes I don't know what I will find
I only know it's a matter of time
When you love someone
When you love someone
It feels so right, so warm and true
I need to know if you feel it too
Maybe I'm wrong
Won't you tell me if I'm coming on too strong?
This heart of mine has been hurt before
This time I want to be sure
I've been waiting for a girl like you to come into my life
I've been waiting for a girl like you, your a love that will survive
I've been waiting for someone new to make me feel alive
Yeah, waiting for a girl like you to come into my life
You're so good
When we make love it's understood
It's more than a touch or a word can say
Only in dreams could it be this way
When you love someone
Yeah, I really love someone
Now, I know it's right
From the moment I wake up 'til deep in the night
There's nowhere on earth that I'd rather be than holding you tenderly
I've been waiting for a girl like you to come into my life
I've been waiting for a girl like you, your a love that will survive
I've been waiting for someone new to make me feel alive
Yeah, waiting for a girl like you to come into my life
I've been waiting, waiting for you, ooh
Ooh, I've been waiting
(Waiting) I've been waiting, yeah
(I've been waiting for a girl like you, I've been waiting)
Won't you come into my life?
Ah
Hum ... delícia 💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕linda !!💝
I haven't been depressed in a long time. A person can only take so much, betrayed 💔 over and over 💔 I'm a good sweet person and people stomping on me, where it stops...It doesn't 😢 I Love this song and always will.
Thomas Dolby did an phenomenal job in the background playing a symphasizer and sings at the end of the song.
I did not know that.
Thomas Dolby ? Now thats weird science !
-symphasizer-
Synthesizer
@@inkoinfinity2 I like pasketti and meatballs.
I think he just did the synths they usually used Ian Lloyd Mick Jones and Mutt Lange in this session...Dolby not much a vocalist
Excelente tema, inolvidable 👌
Quien mas escuchando este 2023! 🎼🎶🎉
I am listening to this Dec 3,2023. Love this song!
One of the most soulful & beautiful love song ever !!!!
Fabulous soft-rock ballad from Foreigner, with the incredible voice of Lou Gramm.
Tears in my eyes for this gem and the memories it brings back, we had a fab time back then!
Love this song! Lou was awesome singing this!
Você é linda e tem bom gosto!
Lou's best song
Man, do we remember that moment in time. You nailed it.
Beautiful words. It took music for granted for some reason. Now I-have a great appreciation.
Magnum Opus indeed. And one of the best love ballads ever.
These ARE proper words ...
same like you - but it send me in 1981... instead of in 1980 i was also 14 years old
Many, many fond memories of my youth. Now I am 52 years old and am just reminiscing whenever I listen to it. It has so much life and I can't get enough of listening to it.
Breaks my heart thinking of the love I lost 💔💔💔
@Melanie Mccallum music is powerful it's a form of worship in the church and has a big effect on emotions I believe it is a problem in the last few decades of cop killing gang banging hoe hating garbage they call music refuse to listen to any of that garbage 🗑️🗑️🗑️
Hermosa melodía no es de mis tiempo pero me encanta

Age is just a number Love is a feeling just in eternity! Both of your love is more than all times...now Now what would she say reading your lines..
This is the greatest song ever I am 47 years old I remember the 80s
Every genre of music has something wonderful to offer but the beauty of 80s lite rock will live forever. It just soars.
A strange but true piece of trivia about the song Waiting For A Girl Like You: the keyboards on this song were played by Bob Mayo, the legendary keyboard player on the album Frampton Comes Alive by Peter Frampton. Mayo also toured with Foreigner around this same time.
When you find love, hold on to it because love is a rare thing.
WOOOOO.. (( Tu comentario dice todo., Es algo raro ))
What if you find it and are too scare to let those kind of feelings unleash 🥺
AMEN to that
