For people who mistakenly think the 2012-13 Lakers were a super team consider these facts. Age 37-38 Nash was 2 years past his prime, chronic back pain limited him to only 50 games in the 2012-13 Season and 15 games in 2013-14 Season. Age 34 Kobe was in the last year of his prime. Though Dwight Howard was 27, he was also recovering from back surgery in the first half of the season. Las Vegas Oddsmakers projected those Lakers to be a 44-38 team. That was before age 32 Pau missed 33 games due to injury and those Lakers had 3 coaches, the last being D'Antoni.
As we know in the second half of the season, Kobe got fed up with losing. He self-increased to 40+ MPG and changed D'Antoni's plays to lead those Lakers to 27-12 before tearing his Achilles in game 80 of that season. In Kobe's last 1st Team All-NBA season, he played 78 games led the Lakers to a 45-37 record.

I think LBJ's real problem can't be solved. He lost six Final's series. That can't be unseen. Just like the Buffalo Bills went to four straight Super Bowls and lost all four. It was an amazing accomplishment but not GOAT level stuff. Winning six for six is GOAT stuff. Winning 5 of 7 is GOAT level. 4 of 10 titles is below average. Plus, LBJ is a crybully-diva.

I AWLAYS mention the Buffalo Bills from the 90s because although making 8 consecutive Finals is undeniably impressive, it falls super short because LeBron lost more than half those appearances. The Bills aren't remembered as one of the greatest teams ever because they never climbed that mountain. Ultimately, LeBron did, but as you mentioned, you can't unsee 6 finals losses - especially when they're almost all epic collapses or beat downs.

Its' a pretty low bar to give LeBron props for valuing championships, when he got his rings by cheating the game. All the ACTUAL "GOAT debate" candidates (MJ, KAJ, Magic, Bird, Kobe, Timmy, Hakeem, Russell) came in and MADE their teams champions. None of them said "I need more help" and forced his way onto totally talent-stacked teams the way LeBron and Kevin Durant did. So, yeah, I guess it's good that LeBron wanted rings, but his rings simply have less value than those of the ACTUAL "GOAT debate" candidates. This is one of the biggest reasons LeBron will ALWAYS be a tier below those guys in the minds of knowledgeable basketball fans. (Other reasons are: LeBron can't shoot, he has no "mid-range" bag, he shrivels in the clutch, he travels like a long-haul airline pilot, and his best "go-to" move is the "flop and whine".)

It is not the same thing at all. You don't win championship with 2 or 3 players. You need like 11-12 NBA players. You need starters and bench players. That Miami team was built from scratch with Wade being there only and Lebron and Bosh, rest of the players were new and inexperienced. I hate it when people say you have 2 or more superstar in your team, you should win. It does not work like that. Basketball is a team sport and you need a balance team. That Heat team was very unbalanced. I remember as soon as the starting players were out the bench would get demolished. This is very different from Durant joining a 73-9 team with strong bench and starters.

    Kobe > Lebron
Kobe won more with less assistance against far better competition, point blank period.
Lebron might have flashier stats, but people don't realize Kobe had his career averages severely diminished due to Del Harris and played in a far more physical league where not everyone could drop 25-5-5 every night.
Centers letting guards get rebounds, 5 out offenses for easy assists, ball dominant pick and roll for 90% of the game to rack up assists.
Lot of this era's players are fool's gold, People say Lebron is more efficient than Kobe, but the truth is Kobe is more effective across an actual basketball shot chart and his playstyle leads to more winning. Lebron shoots the majority of his shots inside the paint. It's always hilarious hearing the efficiency talk when Bron can't make 75% of his free throws.
Real ballers know it's much easier to guard someone like Lebron who looks for kickouts and doesn't have elite footwork. It's a far tougher assignment to deal with Kobe, who has no qualms about shooting from anywhere on the court and is comfortable in any situation. I wish Kobe got to play with as many all-stars, hall of famers, and top 75's as Lebron did, he'd have 6-7 rings easy. The truth is going to come out from the players as the years progress, the media narratives will start getting exposed.
In a game where one team needs to outscore the other to win, Kobe has the highest PPG ever recorded in basketball history when adjusted for pace (2005-2006). He's the only player besides Jordan to outscore all finals opposition by at least 10PPG in multiple finals series, and that's not even addressing that Kobe is one of the best perimeter defenders ever and arguably the most skilled player of all time. Give me Kobe every single day of the year.

Always remember that a majority of jealous team owners Uniquely & Unfairily prevented Kobe from having a super team in 2011-12 Season (Kobe-CP3-Bynum). They never stopped LeBron, Duncan, Pierce, Garnett, Wade, Nash, Curry or Durant. And don't say the 2012-13 Kobe-Howard-Nash Lakers were a super team because Nash was age 38, chronic back injured. A blind man could have predicted that he'd only play 50 games that season. Pau was looking for the exit and would not sign a contract extension, despite the Lakers offering a non-trade clause.

Why are you making this about Lebron? 😂 Wade just said he saw Kobe win two rings and then called Lebron in a very tongue in cheek movement. Everyone knows they made the decision to play together right after they both signed their rookie extensions which was before Kobe won his rings. They purposely all signed three year extensions so that they could play together earlier when their contracts expired. Even Melo was involved but he had a change of heart and signed another extension because he wanted the money. There were tones of videos where people talked about "what if Melo had followed through with the plan and teamed with Bron and Wade?" So this was just Wade kidding around. But this guy cant resist trashing Lebron even though Bron said nothing about Kobe 🤦‍♂ He literally should name his channel after the guy 🤣
