Kennan's starting to get more comfortable on camera and it shows; I'm starting to cotton to *his* style. It's not as animated as Doug's, but that's OK.

I could be mistaken. And it doesn’t matter. However I was under the impression that the real reason why it wasn’t the DB8 was Aston didn’t want people to mistake it as a 8 cylinder car as it never was, it was always the N.A. 6.0 (5.9) V12. And yeah it’s based on ford v6 blah blah blah.

I always considered getting a DB9 or Vantage. Even though it doesn't have the same prestige as an AM I went with a 2014 Jag XKR. Very similar look inside and out as the AM... but more power and not the same cost to maintain... I know I know.. its a Jag so its still expensive to maintain and has its own rep for reliability.. but the AM is much more to maintain and even less reliable. My car had 510hp and modestly computer tuned it with SC pulley upgrade to 650hp. Its a blast to drive.

Excellent. Despite this car is no doubt extremely beautiful, the interior with those figured wood bars on the door inside top, the alcantara and the gorgeous leather, I never understood why they cheaped so badly for the back of the steering wheel and the controls for the windshield wipers, lights etc. that really infuriates me, take a look for example at the new Genesis models with these controls finished in something like alloy tips which look really fantastic. Anyway, if you like Aston Martin, here is a short video you might find interesting about its history and the car that was probably the swan song of their golden hand made days, the mighty Vantage V550. Thanks for the good work Kennan! ruclips.net/video/_nS7qjYF8EM/видео.html

The V550 is great! The Issimi team does a great job at long form video as well. Very cinematic.

@@carsandbids I didn't watch many of them but i did send you this one because funny enough I just watched it and your vid of the DB9 popped out, so I thought sure Kennan already watched it but just in case I'll share. The one of their video is truly gorgeous in that dark blue colour and its twin supercharged engine rumbles like a storm. Probably very scary on a twisty mountain if you ask me.

    I don't like the DB9.
The first time I saw one, it was one of the most beautiful cars I had ever seen, but within 6 months it was just so... meh to me. I prefer the look of the DB7 so much more.
Usually a car's looks grow on me and I think that they look better over time, but for some reason this one went from a 10 to a middling 5 by its second model year.
It's a controversial opinion but I am just not a fan of the DB9.

Maybe because of the more agressive DBS? I'm a big fan of the DBS and the looks of a standard DB9 now feels like looking at a c220 cdi while knowing about the c63 black series lol

      That's pretty much it, yeah.
The DB9 sits in a place between 2 way cooler models. They had the basic idea, but it wasn't quite there yet.
      It still leaves me cold.

It took a few years to get the formula right (looks wise) with the 9 is what I am saying.
