2:52:33 the craziest comeback in this grand final. Being on the edge of losing with your opponent have perfect score then suddenly win the whole round 💥
This reminds me of E-Sport in the early days of StarCraft. The passion of the pros and the amazement of the fans is completely real. You usually don't get that from these company created events, but Geoguessr has a real fan base willing to make it a sport and I'm beyond impressed by the pro players.
Unbelievable. Actually unbelievable. The biggest congratulations ever to the competitors, especially MK for literally hanging on by a thread in ALL 3 matches he played, that takes some insane guts. The best 2 players definitely made it to the final. Congratulations also for the outstanding production, so incredibly professional, one of the best online productions Ive ever seen for anything full stop. All the casters and presenters were great (except one, who despite being so cringy that it makes it funny, was incredibly distracting at the most intense moments). I cannot wait for next year already. I dont know how anything in geoguessr could ever beat this day though.
MK wouldn't hang by a thread if he took 5 seconds more per guess and find a precise location instead of plopping the target anywhere and hope he's close.
Say what you want about MK's playstyle, but his 3 matches during the playoffs here were maybe the 3 best series of Geoguessr I've ever seen. Something about it makes for REALLY REALLY good and competitive matches, and great viewing!
The last one was not even France. It was Tübingen in Germany. The flags were "bait" as Rainbolt was suggesting it ! Don't know why those french flags were there in that german city. But both players took the bait ! 🙂
It looks there is an annual French film festival in Tübingen early November time frame. I would guess the google car shot during that period. If someone could confirm?
maps.app.goo.gl/aapkSXozVDaTfXB57 Actually the film festival theory doesn't check out as the google car shot was in August. When checking this on street view and turning around, we even see the same with Italian flags + restaurant & stores with both French and Italian names. This location was just total bait lmao
@@steph7793 Hi, I don't think it's because of the French film festival. The street name is 7 Marktgasse in Tubingen. Go check google maps, when you turn around, there are italian flags across the street. And I saw german flags in another street. It was taken in august 2022. So probably not the French film festival but another reason. :)
!@@-cedric- Yes you are right, I amended myself the same way after checking probably at the same time as you did. Geoguessr mapmaker wanted to go nasty on that one ;)

I absolutely dont understand how they do this lol. i feel like if they jumped onto my street and looked theres no way they would guess my state. i got basic trees, houses, and cars, looks like 20 other states LOL. do they study locations, like kids and words for spelling bees?
After none of my favourites bar one made it to quarterfinals and then the one lost in quarterfinals I was a little bummed, but that didn't last long because it's so easy to root for _everyone_ competing. 😊 Congrats to Blinky, it was an amazing performance and a well deserved victory. The World Cup itself was just a lot of fun, so entertaining and exciting to watch. I was on the edge of my seat so many times. I'm already looking forward to next year's competitions. 😆
Amazing games and atmosphere! I still can't get over the music used in the event though. :D The second walk in song uses a melody part of Kernkraft2000s Zombie Nation and the game background track is highly inspired by (to say the least) Mike Oldfields Secrets from Tubular Bells III. Who is going to start sound guessr with me ? :P
Wonderful gameplay from all competitors, great sportsmanship and some brilliant guesses. Was on the edge of my seat the whole bloody time. Congrats to all, especially Blinky... Well deserved.
Scoring system needs to be be changed. In the final after three games, Blinky was leading 14 - 3 in rounds won. After the fourth game, going into NMPZ it was 19 - 8. He was clearly (visibly) better than MK and still he could have lost the NMPZ tie-breaker. And there were a few other matches where the weaker player won or almost won, because of the way scoring system is now implemented (multipliers, number of rounds and games in the match, etc). It may be good for the show now, but if you have aspirations to be e-sport game, the scoring system and match format need to be more fair, so that the better player isn't punished by chance (luck). Another suggestion for NMPZ rounds: since it's a still image, it's the same for both players, there is no need for having two images displayed next to each other on screen. One bigger image would be better for the viewers watching. You would just need to figure out how to display maps of both players for the viewers, but I'm sure it's possible. Lennli's commentary was good and enjoyable, I hope you will be having him commenting matches more in the future. There was too much waiting time between the matches (in the group stage and in the finals). Overall the production quality was good and I enjoyed watching this world cup. Fortunately, the best player won the event. Congratulations to Blinky! Insane level of gameplay.

I didn't even know what GeoGuessr was until a while back when I had randomly stumbled across this video. Lets just say that 3+ hours of watching it, its not just my favourite eSports game to watch but what a goddamn amazing finals. I don't even understand that how can you guess a country let alone AN EXACT SPOT by just looking at a picture. This is beyond me! AMAZING GAME, AMAZING COMPETITION, AMAZING COMMENTATORS AND BLOODY AMAZING PLAYERS!
This will go down in history as the greatest GeoGuessr World Cup final of all time
1:12:00 those trees are recovering from bushfire, they wouldn't look like that otherwise. It is regrowth after fire.
This has 1 Million views allready? Crazy
Blinky switching his style to quick picking in no move against MK is so goated. Love to see it. MK is absolutely shook.
like rainbolt said, everyone counted mk out. huge props to the legend. "46 points and a dream"
Props to MK for taking every round to NMPZ, and not only that but guessing fast asf. Made it wayyy more entertaining.
6:44:02 This moment was funny af, bro said no lol
3:24:09 Finally a place that I recognized instantly and better than the pros, because I am from Uttarakhand haha
Wow, 1M views! Geoguessr has come far in a short time!
I dont know how anything in geoguessr could ever beat this day though.
how to make every presenter doubt themselves indivually lmao
MK wouldn't hang by a thread if he took 5 seconds more per guess and find a precise location instead of plopping the target anywhere and hope he's close.
Say what you want about MK's playstyle, but his 3 matches during the playoffs here were maybe the 3 best series of Geoguessr I've ever seen. Something about it makes for REALLY REALLY good and competitive matches, and great viewing!
Damn rainbolt really out here absolutely mogging everyone he stands next to
The last one was not even France.
I watched this live, and those were some of the most fun and high stakes games! Loved every second! ❤❤❤❤
I could not have been more entertained. This entire thing was epic.
A bit off topic but the music from the start (0:00 - 2:26) makes me feel really hyped. Also, what a great grand final, just breathtaking!
Same here and at 50:15 you can tell the audience can hear them, Maybe the headsets are ear plugs lol
Das finale wurde einfach in Tübingen am Marktplatz entschieden 🎉
Legendär 😅
the music is so dramatic yet so fitting as well.
The only reason the algorithm has brought me here was Trevor Rainbolt. Have randomly been watching your shorts for ages and never seen a full geoguessr match. TBH I had no clue what this game was. I am so glad you are such an amazing asset to this community. This is amazing. I am addicted in only the most positive and healthy ways to this amazing use of emerging tech and genius. Rainbolt, I hope you have an eternal right to champion this esport into the future. Without you I, and I am assuming, many others would not have stumbled across this. Thank you. I have started binging as much content from the past few years on geoguessr and I have just created an account. I am ready to absorb way too much time into this. Let's go 😂😂😂
Blinky is just out of this world. But really awesome final from everyone. Loved every match.
First round starts at 45:00 audio isn't working at start but picks up a few minutes into it
lennli is an amazing expert commentator. no shade at rainbolt, but the inviting energy lennli brings is unmatched. he should get more airtime next time around. (if he doesn't qualify, that is.)
Can you please send the timestamp of Rainbolt's match? I can't find it
@@aItaccountrainbolt does not participate, only commentary
@@1-queen773 oh, alright
HOLY GAMES. On the edge of my seat in the final!!! Congrats!
MK vs Kratsooo was something else....what a show!
Amazing tournament ✨🥳
I was so confused to see Tübingen in the final round.
Parabéns Orlando, você representou bem demais o Brasil e a América Latina toda. Jogou muito, fez a torcida brasileira comparecer no chat enviando bandeiras do Brasil o tempo todo.
Such an insane final. Not gonna spoil it for any future watchers but it's some of the most tense e-sports I've watched, which is a crazy high bar lmao
"The man who memorized the world" 🥶🥶
I’m from Argentina and find it hilarious that you call the North-east corner of our country the “pan handle” 😂 (btw, it’s actually a province called Misiones)
lol this was epic. Never thought google maps could be so intense
I absolutely dont understand how they do this lol. i feel like if they jumped onto my street and looked theres no way they would guess my state. i got basic trees, houses, and cars, looks like 20 other states LOL. do they study locations, like kids and words for spelling bees?
Heart broken for my guy RC. One round and the game is gone. Comr back stronger!!
After none of my favourites bar one made it to quarterfinals and then the one lost in quarterfinals I was a little bummed, but that didn't last long because it's so easy to root for _everyone_ competing. 😊
Congrats to Blinky, it was an amazing performance and a well deserved victory. The World Cup itself was just a lot of fun, so entertaining and exciting to watch. I was on the edge of my seat so many times. I'm already looking forward to next year's competitions. 😆
Blinky truly on another level this year, big congrats!!
This has to be one of the most interesting e sports game. This was too intense.
Such an amazing event, what a great game Geoguessr! I reallly want to start playing now
THAT WAS SO INTENSE AND GOOD. I never thought that will be so close, congratz to BLINKY!
Never heared of this tournament or this sport as a whole, but it’s incredible intense and skillbased. Just wow.
Just started watching this sport. Most excellent.
Amazing Grand Finals.
Blinky & MK are GOATED!
I can't believe this little game I played 10 years ago has grown into a game that has a world cup with a massive crowd watching
Incroyable !
I watched the whole thing and what an experience it was… This was too perfect, just wow.
yeah kudos to the script writers :P
The scriptwriter is crazy on this one🔥
