    Oh and another tip on freezing beans is to freeze in measurements you’d find canned so if you’re referencing a recipe it can be the same measurements VS having to guess or thaw a portion of it only if that makes sense!

    The Costco gf pizza is definitely a favorite. We get their salami when it’s on sale and freeze that to supplement the pizza’s protein and toss on some more cheese (needs a little garlic powder at that point).
    Definitely love cooking up an entire pack of Costco’s ground beef each month and freezing in bags portioned for what we use in a single meal. Makes cooking that much faster during the week!

    • @simplylivingmama
      @simplylivingmama  4 месяца назад +2

      Yes! SO good! We love to stock up on their salami too. Never thought to add it to the pizza though, great idea!! Having pre-cooked meat ready to go is a game changer for sure!

    whenever I make a crockpot meal, i'll double the recipe so I can freeze half of it and have a 'no cook' meal for days I don't feel like or don't have time to cook.

  • @dawncatalano7443
    @dawncatalano7443 4 месяца назад +3

    Hi! Just found your channel and i can absolutely relate. One of the things i do is if there is something your family enjoys make double. Serve half for the cook night and freeze the other half either in containers or a flat zip bag. Believe it or not, that frozen meal will taste even better. Zap in the microwave long enough to get out if the bag and pop it in the crock pot or into a baking dish to warm through. It only takes a few extra minutes and you will thank yourself later. Personally, i keep lentil, veg beef, chicken, and taco soup as well as chilli, beef stew, and meatloaf all wrapped in my freezer cuz life happends. You have to eat and something hot on the table always tastes better than drive through and your wallet will thank you!
    Have a blessed day!
    Oh! And cookie dough freezes beautifully. Just scoop out your dough balls and freeze them. Pop them in a bag and you can have fresh warm cookies for when that cookie emergency happens (yes, there are cookie emergencies).❤

      I've been trying so much more to make snacks from scratch too! Even the non organic ones are expensive. I still do buy them because my children are in school and it can be handy when I don't have any on hand, but have been really trying to make them at home more. We have been learning more about food and what's in it etc this last year and it's really convicted me to want to make more of an effort in this area.

    Amish discount stores are where I get most of my products. I make homemade jelly’s and jams, and freeze produce I get given from family. Meats are bought on sale and portioned out and frozen. I cannot try very many things because my husband is a picky eater. I love him to bits but man do I miss beans. 😢

      It truly depends, I get produce from Aldi's but if I bought 25lbs of beans or rice from Aldi's vs. Azure then it would cost more from Aldi's , if that makes sense.
