Great video Naomi! Good to know about these non KYC options! I currently use my CRO visa debit card for almost everything and was recently looking into other cards.
I use dash direct all the time. It's awesome. So well designed. Dash is perfect for this since transactions are effectively instantaneous. I have done this "at the register" transfer-and-pay process. Folks, I'm telling you, if you are serious about crypto use in the real world ... Try it; you'll get the value.

Do you have to hold your crypto on bitpay? I don't see any way around that. If so then it is not non-custodial and risk is involved. Also, there are pretty big fees on the original transfer depending on which crypto you use. Plus, KYC as mentioned. Dash fixes this!

That did not work out well for all those ATM’s that got hacked/double spent. They must have a formula and limit on how much you can spend. Dash Instantsend and Chainlocks fixes this. It would be ashame if someone double spent the Bitpay card ;) I guess if they KYC everyone that would help prevent the fraud. I’m not a fan of KYC though, I like my privacy.
Crypto mining has slowed because electric prices. So crypto is based on electricity prices. Meaning higher electric prices stop crypto mining. Which should push prices up. No. Crypto exchanges are even crashing. So gpu prices are coming down as people sell mining rigs.
Similar to DashDirect, except with DashDirect you can reload the card infinitely and don't need to keep getting new ones. Also DD is getting a physical card within a couple weeks.

The problem in these cards is that it's only for US or EU phone/clients. With already banked population. Making it worthless if you live in an unbanking country.

Ah. This is a product for people who already have their money in crypto and are looking to spend it. You can always convert inside the bitpay app, or by any of the methods I talk about in my "how to buy crypto" video. ruclips.net/video/5NP7-FUKj4M/видео.html
It lets you hold 100% crypto and then spend it for everything, so that's 90% of the way there. Of course I think wherever you know you can spend it directly where the merchant receives and holds it, you should.
DEX availability is amazing. Want to cash out of your crypto without alerting the tax man? Swap your valued crypto for a stable USDC etc. coin. Then you can literally buy at thousands of places online and even buy visa gift cards etc. never alerting an exchange that uses KYC. Uncle SAM can screw off.
Volatility of the crypto market makes this risky on a day to day basis if you have no stable coin in your countries currency. Not to mention capital gain or loss tax implications. Nightmare for day to day at the moment. Looking forward to the near future when this is ironed out.
volatility is still an issue. But even then the spend and replace model is a great way to dollar cost average, and the discounts on dash direct are pretty huge
@@NaomiBrockwellTV Paid in AUD transfer to exchange buy btc. Btc it goes up 10% buy dinner $100 30% CGT dinner dinner now cost $103ish and time and effort to process on my end regards tax. And the reverse if it goes down if it drops 10% dinner cost $110 or 10% more in the hours i have to work to pay for it. Just to hard right now. I would love to be doing it.

They’re not at all. But the big change is you don’t have to keep your money in a custodial bank account like with existing Visa cards, you just transfer the amount you want to spend at the time of purchase. A big improvement for self sovereignty.

But are those retailers actually accepting crypto? Or is it real time selling dash for fiat at the sale? The latter right? So what he said earlier about having issue with having to go back to fiat to spend it applies here then too. Its early, i get it, but we need to move towards retailers actually accepting the crypto, and then using it thenselves, maybe paying employees or whatever.
No he said go back to the banking system, you have no need to deal with any bank to buy a gift card. All transactions are “selling usd” but it’s a strange way to look at it. For example I wouldnt consider buying a Starbucks gift card to be “selling usd to buy Starbucks coins”
These cards may not be going through a literal bank, but they're still using payment processing which is part of the fiat monetary system, still subject to those regulations.

Behind the scenes, where neither the card holder nor merchant need bother with it (until some regulation causes it to go wrong), the card issuer is acting as a crypto to fiat exchange. And regulated exchanges are where I expect the worst regulation on crypto to be imposed, because crypto is pretty resistant to interference elsewhere.
@@hanelyp1 We are not exchanging crypto for fiat. We are not a regulated entity and the activity of paying us for prepaid access is not a regulated activity. Payment to us is on-chain, in crypto.
The problem is, the government sees crypto as property, not a currency. How does using DASH or spending crypto affect your taxes? You are going to have to pay extra capital gains tax on top of regular sales tax, aren't you?

The major underlying issue with any Crypto currency currently is it's fluctuating nature. And I mean REALLY fluctuating. Today you can buy a phone from a unit of a crytpo, but tomorrow you can't. I don't want my salary to have a variable value on each day. One day I'm rich, another I'm broke.

You should review the moon card. Gives you a disposable visa card. No kyc lighting and on chain Bitcoin support

If it is under $1000 you can with the Dash Direct Mastercard. There are other work arounds to.

If your crypto goes up in value from $1 to $5, and you have to pay taxes on that, your haven't lost money

Reporting is up to you. DashDirect has no knowledge of your transactions and cannot issue a report.
I guess the fees/exchange rates will be pretty significant for this payment methods.
Fees for which payment method? DashDirect has zero fees and uses the exact exchange rate you see in the wallet (no hidden fees at all).

You already can. It’s called mining, or in Dash you can actually also submit a proposal to work for KYC-less Dash from the monthly superblock.
