Just a tip... The bolt holes to remove the old water pump from the block can be filled with the bolts that keep the thermostat housing on if you're replacing the thermostat as well
Sounds like you'll have some interesting projects. I'd love to hear how it goes. And, yes, it is leaking a small amount of oil. I haven't decided if it's worth trying to fix, but I'll be interested in your experience.
I believe they were 6mm, but yes, pick these up at a local hardware shop or auto parts place. They don't have to be anything special, and they will make your job so much easier!
Use carb-cleaner and lots of rags to clean the empty opening where the water pump sits and clean it really good before installing the new water pump. Also lube the new seal with 3m silicone lubricant,(it is a thick grease). New pump pops right in
Just a tip,if the pump crack when anyone press the bolts, you can hammer the front of the pump, that will only break the pump bearing only and then can remove the pump,I did many time before, good luck
It started having excessive play. This caused the fan to hit the fan shroud and break. Typically, the impeller will break and the car will overheat or the the water pump will start to leak. My case, however, was somewhat unusual. I had none of these symptoms.
usually a failed bearing inside said pump and the impeller will knock around inside the pump... sounds like a rattle can almost. Water pump could also be weeping, in which case youd know it was on its way out.

Good luck with the plastic window! I did it back in September. The hardest part was getting the stupid thing lined up properly.

This model have a problem of the plastic Impeller ,it happened often come off the shaft .
But you can find a metal impeller water to fix it
Usually will no heater and overheating, but need to check the thermostat first, it only 3 bolts.
