Trent is getting a new hangar delivered to his home!!!!! At least, that’s what it looks like to me!!!! Get you some of that!!!! Love the video on the new drone camera!!!! Thanks for your opinion!!! Looks like a stellar drone with great video capabilities!!!!
I was thinking the same thing!
Ooooooooo snap! Hanger build teaser footage sprinkled into the review! Trent, you sly dog!
For picture taking... are you able to take advantage of any of the zoom features in camera mode - Zooming and picture clicking is a locked feature with the Mavic 3 Classic (one lens). thanks!
Would love to see some more RPA/UAV content from your business side of things and what you do !
Ben asking for years for Trent to show more of his professional drone pilot life. We have only got glimpses. Maybe he’s too busy while on set to get footage of himself. Would be cool to see, though.
@@pauljoseph8338 Ditto that. I'm guessing that much of it is behind the scenes of movie-making and ads, and that isn't up for grabs from the companies he works for. I loved the scenes he was able to show from Colorado offroad mountains.
Teaser! Your hanger beams being unloaded...
We have it too easy these days. Great video Trent!
Do I see Hangar supplies arriving at the Desert Oasis!? Great review!
You are building your hangar!!!
Wait, you're building your hanger?
Good stuff Trent. Can’t wait to see more about this drone and see what you do with it.
What is that shirt you are wearing? I want one.
I feel like they still need to work on the performance of how the motors interact with each other while making high speed turns. Meaning if you are parallel with you subject in sport mode say 40mph then start to orbit around to the front of the subject, it seems the drone will slow down, you lose that momentum that you had while you were beside your subject esp if you make a quick turn to change the angle. Coming from the Phantom / Inspire series of drones, that did not happen. They also allowed you to fly in ATTI mode something that they still haven't integrated into any of the Mavic 3's. Down wind ATTI mode was a joy, something I really miss and can only do on my inspire 2 now. These drones are great but I think they need to mimic the flying characteristics of the phantom/inspire series, those in my opinion were the best flying DJI drones. A micro 4/3 sensor below a phantom 5 with ATTI mode is what I would die for :)
I will totally agree with you about this, at first I thought it was me not being able to fly it precicely but then I reaslised it's probably because the camera is located in the front and not on the bottom of the aircarft which makes it a little bit jerky while turning / orbiting following a subject, on my phantom 4 pro I could execute really really precise and intricate maneuvers while controlling the gimbal at the same time, with mavic 3 I find it kinda dificult.
Was that a peek of the hangar build
Did they send you the drone with the grenade dropping option ?
I've heard you might have some use for it.
By the way, watch your six because i've heard Just Plane Silly is coming for your drone.
Still, photographers get the short end of the stick. Optical zoom is invaluable to me The Mavic line of drones are video drones that happen to shot stills.
Trent always makes me want to spend money on stuff. I'm going bankrupt watching your channel.
I need to get my plane back in the air so I can film more content.
Man, DJI is one of the few companies that really tempt the dollars out of my account on a consistent basis. Thanks for this first look, Trent!
I shoot primarily stills for industrial photography work with an I2 and X5S, 15 and 45mm lenses. The I2 works great but it's big. I'm constantly wondering if I should switch to the Mavic... This one looks like it's getting pretty close. Thoughts? Thank you, d
Nice kit but the price! Being an ancient meanie I'll stick to my Brownie. Seriously I guess that if you are using it commercially it is worth the price. Great shots by the way. Regards, Jim the Brit in NI UK
I was just thinking last week that I didn't know if I was ever going to need another drone. Well done DJI. Thanks for the walkthrough Trent.
I haven't flown the Mavic 3 but I can agree that the newer drones handle MUCH better. I've flown my Mavic mini and Mavic air 2s in the same session and its remarkable how much better the MA2s responds to my input. Great shots and great video!
Awesome piece of kit, love the ability to to fly a longer lens.. however I'd prefer a single sensor with either a 24-70mm (equiv) optical zoom or interchangeable lenses. Great review!
An optical zoom would be amazing!
@@TrentonPalmer One can buy a $270 PTZ camera for a security system. I wonder why they haven't put a real zoom (optical) on a drone yet. It's too bad that DJI isn't an American company.
@@ljprep6250 - the inspire2 with Zenmuse X5s (MFT interchandable lens) can swing a zoom lens - I have the panasonic 14-42 pancake lens -power zoom - it works - the controller has an on screen zoom slider and with the cendence remote a knob can be allocated for zoom (I think, it has been a little while since using it.)... For most shooting I have tended to use primes..
Agreed, going down the smartphone rabbit hole with multiple cameras is a move in the wrong direction.
@@ljprep6250 for the sake of keeping things simple is better to avoid moving parts, beyond the focus elements.
I stopped your playback to jump to B & H Photo to get more info. This is an impressive tool & I know you will make it shine. Thanks for the info.
You commented on being able to change the camera view on the fly. Now, I can't be the only one thinking this but ... why not the ability to use all 3 cameras at the SAME TIME and choose your field of view / zoom during editing. (Yes, I know it will fill the memory pretty fast and reduce flight time a bit, but...)
If the FAA suspension goes through, you can get another remote pilot to be your babysitter while you continue to fly the drone (and get paid). The Reno FSDO sure screwed up on this, and so did the NTSB administrative law judge -- the legal status of Advisory Circulars has been compromised. Not to mention that the FAA and NTSB gave themselves black eyes, which they didn't need. And your link to get apparel (where I tried to send this email) is private and inaccessible.
But does it support sdk and have a global shutter? I've yet to see that discussed.
Am I the only one that sees all the weird artifacts in the ariel footage? It seems like drones of this price point would have addressed that.
It's because you're not in 4k. And the compression gives you squigglies.
@@triedproven9908 Thanks for the explanation! I didn't know the resolution I was viewing it at would cause that.
Really? Holy grail? No, it's not! There will always be something better. It's the CURRENT good drone.
fellow. Hiya!~ so useful - catch ya later!;)
I wonder how steady the 166mm mode is when using 'Waypoints'? If it works, it's a lot easier than hand flying(I might think). Question...did you have to use a lot of post stabilization when using the 166mm?
Trent, I'm looking at getting into the agricultural drone business...spraying, seeding, and imaging at the urging of several friends. I know it's not necessarily your thing but I'd be very appreciative of any advice and insight you might have. This is a complete shift in professions and skill sets for me. This is uncharted territory for me and I'm sure that any reply to a comment will only scratch the surface from your prospective.
For reference the 3 drones I'm looking at are the DJI AgrasT-40, the Hylio 272, and the XAG P100.
Thank you for the inspiration to makes this jump, whether or not you reply to this.
Wow perfect timing. I just took mine up for the first flight yesterday. Never had flown a drone before that.
Great review Trent ! When will you review the inspire 3 ? :D
❌ Fly the Inspire 3
✔️ Strapped it into Freedom Fox 😂
Yeah, cameo visuals with fastener noises in the background!
Unfortunate that it doesn't have ADS-B from what I've seen
You put it through its pesos in Mexico
I can't see it being worth it to upgrade from the Mavic 3 to the Pro but moving from say the Mavic 2 then for sure it would be!
Great review! Did we just see footage of the new hangar? 👀
Drones are definitely something I'll get into (eventually), living on a rural property.
shit.. how the hell do we get a 5000 drone sent to us for free?
Big question for you, Trent.... Is it enough of an improvement to justify upgrading from say, a Mavic 2 Pro w/ Smart Controller?
Absolutely, the Mavic 2 Pro was great at the time but the 3 is in a whole different league. It flies better, flies much longer, and the image off of it is worlds better. Don’t get me wrong, the Mavic 2 is still a great drone but if you are using it regularly then the 3 is going to be a well worthwhile investment.
@@TrentonPalmer Thanks. I'll seriously consider it then. I work in television in Australia & while I was using my Mavic 2 Pro heavily a couple of years ago, a change in production roles reduced the amount I was using it. I'm doing more news camera work again, so I might look at the upgrade in the months ahead. Did you use the live HDMI-out during your testing of the Remote Controller too?
Only thing I have noticed about these drone companies they upgrade on every new model, you think you have the latest and greatest the next model is 10 fold of the last one you just bought.
The baja footage looks like a desert assassins trip
Hello from Minnesota. Pretty awesome!
Thanks for the video Trent. The images are insanely good. Currently saving for a new Avata after mine disconnected from the goggles and headed into the forest, never to be seen again! 😬
Great review. I look forward to some interesting videos 🙂
I'm shattered. I just bought the Mavic 3, 3 weeks ago, and then this comes out for only $200 AUD more!
Someone tell me where yall get the money to buy this things!! I really want one but I'm broke asf😂
ALWAYS wanting to see more of this side of your work. Been watching since the old days flying the big rig through trees. Love the airplane stuff, but as a drone pilot I'd love to see more on the professional side of things.
Great filming shots T! By the way.. I want that t shirt!! Is it one of yours? I tried to go to your apparel site, but it's currently set to "private".
Sweet freaking drone wow and thanks for the footage awesome shots👊🙏🇺🇸😎
This tech amazes me. Thanks!
this is awesome! and great review btw. if i wasn't broke as a joke, i'd be sold on it. but, i'm still having a blast with my mini 3 pro but i'm not doing anything substantial other than playing at the park with it. lol
Looks like steel is going up on the hangar
PLEASE more Raptor content. I hope you captured enough Baja footage to make an entire baja video. Baja Raptor Run with your filming talents would be EPIC
2 videos from that trip are coming!
🙀🤯
Is that bumper ADD Stealth? Hard to tell from a distance.
Looking for a bumper myself, just can’t decide which one
This video just made me want to cancel my order:
Nice work buddy!
That soom lense is my dream come true. Peralax never gets old!
Footage looks great, but there’s something about the telephoto scenes that seem oversharpened. Is this post or the camera itself?
The camera has some extra contrast to it, or at least that’s what I’m pretty sure it is that you are seeing
Can't wait to see some nice tele footage in your upcoming videos ;)
would love you see your video editing workflow, long form
Trent are U still suspended by the FAA Trolls? Anyway It'll be the HOLY GRAIL till DJI comes out with the DJI Mavic 4 Pro or whatever is next. Great Presentation though.
Communist Drone.....seems to find its way in no matter what. How about you buy an American made drone. Or....Start your own American drone company.
There is also non-commercial versions with IR sensors, laser ranging, night vision. We just dont get to play with those toys.
Basically anyone looking to buy the mavic 3 classic with the RC controller just slap another $500 with it and get the pro and have better quality than the Cine for $1,000 less.
Everybody wake up, new trent palmer just dropped!
Suck on cawk much?
Interesting to see the change in Trent now that he realizes he has star qualities.
Hey Trent, thanks for showing us this new drone. I want to know if you only shoot commercials or movies?
Jjust a comment on the picture quality, the 3x and 7x cameras look nowhere near as sharp as the 1x, it is so obvious like a night and day difference even in good light when comparing them and I'm not just talking about from your video. I've compared other creators content who have used this drone so as far as an upgrade I think I skip this one. Great video by the way.
I just have moral issues with DJI…early in the Ukraine war they provided equipment to Russia to allow them to track down Ukrainian drone operators.
What's the speed capability flying sideways? Following a train and filming it sideways flying is needed. I know about sports mode but the videos I've seen test the speed only forward. Now flying a Mini 3 PRO but soon a Mavic 3 PRO.
"Nothing wrong with the Inspire line"? Let's start with transmission limitations and then quickly transition into flight time limitations, absolute workflow killers.
@Trent Palmer
Have you used the Autel Evo II Pro Version 2? or any versions. I shoot some videos with that drone and I can swear that the video and pictures look a lot better in every way without having to do any editing. I would like to hear your opinion please.
How is no one talking about how terribly the 3 series handles compared to the Mavic 2 Pro? What an incredible handicap the implementation of coordinated turns is to the manueverability of the 3 series. How is this not something that can be toggled on and off?
I just canceled my order of Nikon Z 800mm f6.3 to get MAVIC 3 Pro
Trent do you fly the drones with VR?
I want LOG on the 7X camera! Thanks for the info Trent
I do too!
@@TrentonPalmer Is the 7X profile the same as Mavic 3?
Well done Trent. Short and sweet and to the point.
wonder how this image compared to inspire 2? from test footage inspire still looks better what are your thoughts?
Apples and oranges to some extent. The inspire has a larger sensor with interchangeable lenses and a much more robust codec that it records in. That said the wide angle Hasselblad sensor on the Mavic 3 looks damn near as good as the inspire to me, the other sensors aren’t quite as good. But again, the Mavic is much cheaper, way more compact and flies for twice as long as the inspire, so it’s a pretty big difference platform wise.
@@TrentonPalmer thanks amigo
How much data is China is collecting data from that drone everytime you update the fireware?
beauty of BaseGear hat there Sir =). . . . also, awesome video with the review !
Do you need a License 107 for the drone footage to film with/monetize your work on RUclips?
Great, but I sure wish it was more drone footage and less “you” footage! Just sayin ! LOL
Quick note on the Active Track ... it only tracks people or cars. That's it. No airplanes.
DJI ripped off all owners of non-Pro Mavic 3 by promising a SDK then never delivering.
I landed my Mavic Air 2 in a lake, so I spent the rent money on the Mavic 3 Pro. I'll have it soon and I got to get real and start making money soon. I dont know anything, except that I love drones and want to make it somehow. new sub.
Wondering if a little bit of a fake?. A little bit of a liar? I shouldn't be wondering.
Regarding DJI drone with zoom: Don’t forget the Mavic 2 zoom!
3:30 Quality of the main camera is leagues ahead of the others. The improvements here are nice, but not at all groundbreaking and I think little reason to upgrade for most people.
The Hasselblad sensor still shines for sure but I will say 99% of viewers won’t notice the difference in actual quality of the other 2 cameras, but it does open up a whole lot of possibilities for the pilot/creator. I think it’ll come down to each persons preference of what is important to them in a drone like this.
I was about to say that camera drone is sexy but then I seen the Ford 😂 man what a bad a$$ truck bro👊😎
Loving all your content! Enjoy you mixing it up on occasion.
just wondering … are you grounded from flying your kit fox
Holy Grail until the Mavic 4 Pro comes out. :)
2:24 why would someone wear a mask in the desert. So stupid.
Did the fix battery life? 30 minute flights is trash
Do you have to have a drone license to fly the Mavic 3 pro?
Music is annoying when you’re talking.
Rooting for you Brother!!
The zoom's have small sensors with low res still, no thanks.
Great evaluation. Weird music.
Personal best. 368th like. 😝
