Every game I've ever played, some were masterpieces. Mother 3, Elebits, Pokemon Diamond, Final Fantasy Tactics... They never compare. Not even Undertale could create the pure feelings this game stirs within me... If I could forget it all and get that pure blissful experience of blind playing Mystery Dungeon again, I would. That emotion is what I live for in games.
Agreed over and over again. This series (excluding Gates, which I haven't played and probably never will) was the first and greatest artistic experience that really touched me.
I think it's because when it comes to mystery dungeon, it really immerses you into the world. Stuff like undertale and FF, the story might be okay but you're still controlling another player. Mystery dungeon is so artistic because of how you feel like you're the main character, and you personalize with the game, forming personal bonds with fictional characters, whilst other games its more like watching the main character form bonds with other people. That's probably why there's far more emotion in it. And though the world may not be so vast or so epic, the way the story is told in PMD games is just so pure and amazing.
This reminds of when Grovyle explains to you that if you will die if you save the world by turning the future away from darkness. Can you imagine a remake of this game with this piece?!
Wow. How have I not come across this amazing orchestration before? You did an excellent job with this song, and your instrumental choices worked great for the "epic" feeling you were going for. I especially liked how you had the vocal soprano descant line in the climax played by tubular bells instead, it worked really well.
Because of nostalgia,,, despite only getting to this part of the game recently,,, I want to cry because of this. It just reminds me of that mystical wonder that I had when I was a child and I've forgotten about how wonderful that feeling is. It beings me back to the happy times when I was playing this game and when I would feel the strong emotions from such minimal details (like when the background music completely cut out and strong emotive bubbles and sound effects would appear, all of which I an identify now why it worked so expertly well but then I just took the overall note that it was an amazingly fun and emotive game) and the almost as foggy memory as fogbound lake that I thought was long forgotten until the mist cleared and I could see the mystical beauty I felt so long ago. Thank you Thank you Thank you Thank Pokémon Mystery dungeon for being bold enough to make gold with little to work with and with a spin-off games budget. Thank you for reminding me today that beauty and meaningful creations and emotion can exist. Thank you for igniting and reminding me of the powerful wonder of the world and thank you for gifting me the heart that makes me want to create as beautifully as the artist behind Pokémon Mystery Dungeon Explorers. And thank you for making me get emotional, Albusvesper, goddammit, you're just so good at enhancing this already amazing song.
Why, I don't know what to say. To be told that your work has touched someone so deeply and that it brought you memories of joy... As an artist, I am truly humbled and moved by your kind words. Heh, even makes me remember why I started doing remixes/reorchestrations to begin with. Thank you for that beautiful comment~
Thank you YT recommend, it actually did it’s job for once and brought me here. PMD 2 is my favorite Pokémon side game, and the music remains in my heart ❤️
i don’t think i could ever express how much explorers of sky means to me .... this game was literally my childhood. forever my favourite game of all time
This sounds close to the original soundtrack but with so much more feeling to it. It has the same feeling I got when I first heard the original song, but amplified a dozen times. You did amazingly! I know this was uploaded in 2011, but this was certainly worth a listen! I hope you are still making songs. Even if you aren't, I personally think you did amazing! :)
This kinda makes me think of the scene in Spirited Away where the main girl and the dragon guy (I can't remember their names) are falling through the sky, when they remember that he was the spirit of a certain filled-up river. Just kinda the more spacious feel that this this one has compared to the original, I guess.
It's absolutely insane to know this game came out in 2006 man. The emotions I felt at 13 years old playing this game for the first time will NEVER be recreated. There's a certain ACTUAL magic to this that future generations may never know about. My partner Squirtle and me the Charmander, I will never EVER forget this adventure, and it will be rooted deeply in my heart until my last days.
This is fantastic. ...No, it deserves a better word than that. This is superb. Nope, still not quite there... perhaps I could say that this is beautiful. Hmm... It is indeed all of the above words, but it is also something else - it is perfection.
This is still the best Mystery Dungeon out of all of them. Super was good but only when it got to Lively town. And Red/Blue was great, 2nd best easily, but considering I was so young I barely remember playing it, it's hard to have a strong opinion on it.
This is utterly, UTTERLY gorgeous. Exactly what I have always wanted. The PMD music is so fantastic and your arrangement is absolutely spot-on with capturing the mystery and majesty of the scene. Do you have a soundcloud account or similar where I could download this as an mp3?
Amazing. Also, think there was another version of this song in a later game, but not sure where. Was more energetic, and was wondering if anyone knew what it was from.
This particular track in the game introduces a melodic motif that is to be associated with the second half of the game. So there are a few tracks where this theme is present. There's this one, Grovyle's Sacrifice, Temporal Tower has it, the final boss theme is based around it. Also, the melodic motif appears in the Vast Ice Mountain dungeon from Explorers of Sky special episode number 5. Hope that helps!
when i first saw fog bound lake i didnt want to continue the story and just watch it for hours because it was so beautiful
My reaction to the Dark Future. It gave off... such a strong atmosphere, and I love that kind of thing.
Suger Queen same here :)
Same! All the colours, the music, the tranquility, the mystery ...
Hi there yellowfang!
god, i did the exact same thing. and the song. i have such an emotional connection with the song

+8Bit Dragon-Sent Me too!
Storywise Gates was alright, contenis where it falls apart.

+Beaster565 A remake of this game for 3ds or the successor of 3ds would be the best thing ever, i'd like it so much...
I think we've reached the point where if I don't get a remake, Game Freak will get my angry letters.
Ahah you're so right
I want a remake that takes place from Grovyle's perspective.
OMG yes please!!!!!
The word "phenomenal" is not enough to describe this...
Wonderful, wholesome, ethereal, yet simplistic

Absolutely amazing underrated piece. Great job on this it holds up 10 years later

I remember watching this 5 years ago lol
i don’t think i could ever express how much explorers of sky means to me .... this game was literally my childhood. forever my favourite game of all time
I will never forget the magnificent ost of this game. For me it has sentimental value because it was my very first game.

I instantly knew the game
This is the most insanely beautiful thing ever. Pokémon knows how to compose good music. And this arrangement is just perfect. Thank you xxx ❤️
Thanks to the composer Arata Iioshi, probably one of the reasons I got insto learning music
Marvelous reorchestra, I really like the idea behind Fogbound lake, it's pretty ingenious.
Wow, that is amazing. That is all I can say, my mind is kind of blown away right now.
Please, I must have more of this great imaginative music!
this feeling at the beginning is soo amazing, always remindes me when i played thrugh the story the first time ;)

With rumours of a remake starting to surface, it’s times like now when I hope that Spike Chunsoft continues doing what it does best
This song is so magical 🎆🔮
Those dislikes were people with confusion
Holy crap this is beyond amazing!

After all these years I'm still struggling at the articuno boss!
@Jack Pearson Yeah, that was tough. Dialga was much harder though... stupid roar of time...
This arrangement reminds me so much of studio ghibli arrangements HAHAH. I love this so much ah

You made me cry ;u;

I have plaied any type of Pokémon mystery dungeon, and I have learned that everyone can be good if they want
its such a shame when amazing artists stop posting

@@cats9994 oh woah thanks
@@matthewm3603 no problem, I just know that in the same position I would have wanted someone to comment so I figured I would do that

Amazing...amazing...
How does this not even have 50,000 views after over 6 years?!
