More than one, for sure. I think Brady had a top ten scoring D every year he won one. How many times did we see the Pack get BTFO or Rodgers not get a chance to touch the ball at the end of the game because the D couldn't get a stop?
The greatness of Rodgers cannot be overstated. As great as Brady is, he doesn't hold a candle next to Rodgers in terms of pure talent, athleticism and wowness.
beksbrat bcuz TT is a fucking joke,he did the same wit Peppers n Casey Hayward,he was holding back the packers from a championship for years, thank god we got rid of him,Packers still need to get either Suh Everson Griffen or Dontari Poe our run defense sucks
ted was cluess of course, imagine having Hyde, Alexander, and King in the secondary along with Tramon and Sullivan! Man don't get me started with not bringing back Jared Cook, underrated ass signing and we got screw with Jimmy Graham... smh...
So, this is my opinion, take it or leave it. Sorry about the long post, but I"ve had no one to vent to about this so the internet is going to receive it. I believe the whole debacle goes all the way up to the top with Mark Murphy, but I'll get to there. I think TT degenerative cognitive issues were affecting him for quite a few years leading up to him stepping down after the '17 season. Look at the draft classes leading up to those, most of the guys just didn't pan out. His almost complete refusal overall to even dip a toe into FA just was insane because of how cheap he was. Look at how Gutenkunst hit a home run on almost all 4 FA last year, that's a rarity, but he did it. This year, he went and found some relatively inexpensive options to replace people. Kirksey may not be an upgrade, but it's not like Martinez was killing it. Wagner can probably be a good stop gap for Bulaga if he stays healthy, and Fuchness is a cheap WR target who is at least a veteran. This leads into Mark Murphy who I believe has failed as the President of the team. This dude was way too concerned with building Titletown Plaza and just letting the status quo happen as is. Any sane owner of a team would've made a change with the consistent shortcomings of the teams and the apparent lack of talent. He even admitted after hiring Gutenkunst that they all were basically in silos and he rarely talked to the head coach and GM. Dom Capers didn't do well either, but he didn't have a Rodgers that can cover up a lot of shortcomings. DC had an aging Matthew, a bunk Perry, and a horrible secondary that consisted of a lot of UDFA. While I wasn't shedding tears at DC going, I don't think it's all his fault when the pieces he was given to work with just weren't cutting it as TT kept missing on picks. Apart from teh '13 season, the Packers had a #10-15 defense so it's not like they were at the bottom of the league. You'd want better, but the lack of quality playmakers began to hurt the Defense. Lastly, MM never innovated. I think this began to show it's cracks when the WR corps dropped from its elite level and the average RBs they continued to have after Cheeseburger Lacy showed up. His scheme became outdated and most times fans could just guess what he was calling before it was even run. The sad truth about all of this, is if even one of the points I made above was fixed, there probably would be at least 1-2 more Lombardi Trophies in Green Bay. I think that's what sucks the most is we've all seen Rodgers's prime wasted and who knows how long it's going to be. That's why Guntenkunst as a GM has shown initial promise in my opinion, he will do whatever it's going to take to bring a championship home.
@@kyleklein3169 Don't sugar-coat it. Tell us how you really feel. I have to agree that TT had tunnel-vision when it came to putting a team together. Why he was like this is anyone's guess. He would draft a player, let him develop, then let him leave, and start over. This was a process that repeated dozens of times while he was GM. We should have known what was in store for the team when he allowed both OGs - Mike Wahle and Marco Rivera - leave without offering a contract. Both had a Pro Bowl season after leaving GB. The team's lack of success wasn't always the GM's fault or that of the coaches. Injuries played a big part. Especially on Defense. As stale as he became, Dom Capers did more-with-less better than anyone else in the NFL. I predict better things this year for WRs and the entire Offensive unit. AR is more comfortable with the playbook and doing the same things for a 2nd straight year has to help. I don't envy Gute. Staying with the young WRs last year was disastrous. I chalk it up to "growing pains" AND having to learn a different scheme. Which players do they keep and which do they get rid of?
Just imagine how awesome this would have been if Nantz/Romo would have called it instead of Joe "pass iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiisss caught" Buck. Rodgers is phenomenal... hope he returns to this form this year!
I'm not too optimistic. He'll be throwing to the same bunch of free agents and late picks that he was last year. Hopefully someone improves and steps up. Maybe Sternberger or Lazard.
I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again and I’ll keep saying it, Thompson should have re-signed Cook. This game alone showed that him and Rodgers were really starting to connect.
and cook went to the raiders AND STILL KILLED IT!!! THAN HE WENT TO THE SAINTS AND STILL KILLED IT!!! I WAS SO PISSED OFF WE LET GO OF COOK THAT IM TYPING THIS IN ALLCAPS SO YOU FEEL MY ANGER AAAAAAH!!!!
benjamin will Exactly, Rodgers has been cheapened out of more championships by Thompson being stubborn and unwilling to compromise. Gute seems like he’s working to do his best to reload and has done a decent job so far (Graham was a monumental mistake though)
cpk1994 His way won a Super Bowl sure, but that doesn’t mean there can’t be any room for compromise and adapting to changing times. Plus those last few years with McCarthy and Thompson had nothing but a feel of complacency with mediocrity. They got so close a few times to another Super Bowl but didn’t do much of anything the following offseason to get over that hump.
I really hope we don't get games like these next season. We get these big leads, lose them, and then all of a sudden the game takes off 10 years of my life from the stress.
Dang when you have Gunter as your number 1 CB and Jake Ryan and Joe Thomas as your ILBs and still win... this Packers team was truly lucky to have gotten to the title game. We should have kept Cook for one more year, ted was too clueless at the time. Lastly, I keep forgetting we had Julius Peppers for a while, probably the more appropriated signing for ted.
God damn this defense was so bad this year. As we saw the next game but that throw was so legendary. Watched it live and couldn't believe what I had just witnessed
On the last field goal Wayne Laravee (I hope I spelled that right) said "right down the middle" on the radio broadcast to assure Packer fans that Crosby made it because when you watch it he almost missed it
People gave Gunter a lot of crap for his play in this game, but he was in good position pretty much every time. Plus, he got hurt early. He was probably playing injured.
Hey obersports I have 2 questions for you number 1 how long does it take for you to make these throwback videos and number 2 why did you repost this vid.
Not a Cowboys fan: what's the deal with Dallas playing with the away uniforms in their own house? I mean the Packers look great in their home greens, but what kind of inferiority complex are the Cowboys infected with?
8:37 That interception by Hyde is probably one of my favorites instinctive plays to this day
If only we gave Rodgers a defense for most of his career. He’d have at least 3 rings
yup
More like 6
I'd say he would have 7.
More than one, for sure. I think Brady had a top ten scoring D every year he won one.
How many times did we see the Pack get BTFO or Rodgers not get a chance to touch the ball at the end of the game because the D couldn't get a stop?
Literally
This game was Super Bowl level good.
These throwbacks are cool. Thanks for putting them out
No problem! I love doing it
One of the best Packer games ever!!!
The last 4 minutes of this game took 4 years off my life
The greatness of Rodgers cannot be overstated. As great as Brady is, he doesn't hold a candle next to Rodgers in terms of pure talent, athleticism and wowness.
I'm still trying to figure out how GM Ted Thompson let both Jared Cook and Micah Hyde leave without offering either one a contract.
beksbrat bcuz TT is a fucking joke,he did the same wit Peppers n Casey Hayward,he was holding back the packers from a championship for years, thank god we got rid of him,Packers still need to get either Suh Everson Griffen or Dontari Poe our run defense sucks

Simple X. Hes truly an idiot bro smh

I remember being a teenager a sophomore with my friends in school watching the game!
Just imagine how awesome this would have been if Nantz/Romo would have called it instead of Joe "pass iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiisss caught" Buck.
Rodgers is phenomenal... hope he returns to this form this year!

MVP!
No one will ever do a better play action ball fake as good as Rodgers ever!
I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again and I’ll keep saying it, Thompson should have re-signed Cook. This game alone showed that him and Rodgers were really starting to connect.
Also should've kept Micah Hyde. The fact that ted didn't even offer him a contract is a slap to the face.
Simple X. Agreed, for all his early success Thompson really botched things towards the end
and cook went to the raiders AND STILL KILLED IT!!! THAN HE WENT TO THE SAINTS AND STILL KILLED IT!!! I WAS SO PISSED OFF WE LET GO OF COOK THAT IM TYPING THIS IN ALLCAPS SO YOU FEEL MY ANGER AAAAAAH!!!!

This game took a solid 5 years off of my life
I love not hearing Aikman lol
I really hope we don't get games like these next season. We get these big leads, lose them, and then all of a sudden the game takes off 10 years of my life from the stress.
Let’s experience this again but with a Super Bowl. Can’t wait for the playoffs
He is a Baaaaaadddd Maaaaaannn!!!!💪💪💯
I love the catches by all our receivers in this game man
Allison and Starks was amazing
Ledarious Gunter single handily almost blew this game for us.
Can't believe we still won with him starting lol.
Simple X. The next week after that Julio torched him and our secondary to pieces. He couldn’t cover a body to save his life.
Dang when you have Gunter as your number 1 CB and Jake Ryan and Joe Thomas as your ILBs and still win... this Packers team was truly lucky to have gotten to the title game. This game made skip the most upset.
Richard rodgers and Ty was so cold but davantae and James Jones’s driver are my favorite receivers
Dallas got Cooked.
And to think this was the HIGH point of Dak's playoff career, all down hill from then on haha
Great vid
Both Romo and Dak have suffered at the hands of this man...
God damn this defense was so bad this year. As we saw the next game but that throw was so legendary. Watched it live and couldn't believe what I had just witnessed
Dak Prescott played His Ass off this game. I hated to see Him Lose this game after a effort like this
They should’ve kept Cook
On the last field goal Wayne Laravee (I hope I spelled that right) said "right down the middle" on the radio broadcast to assure Packer fans that Crosby made it because when you watch it he almost missed it
Do you have the GB/DAL 1997 game when the Cowboys finally had to go to Lambeau?
People gave Gunter a lot of crap for his play in this game, but he was in good position pretty much every time. Plus, he got hurt early. He was probably playing injured.
Do you think you could upload videos from 2011 season.
I have plenty already, check the playlist at the end of the video
Hey obersports I have 2 questions for you number 1 how long does it take for you to make these throwback videos and number 2 why did you repost this vid.
1. About an hour
2. Because the other version was way shorter bc I didn’t have the full game to edit down
@@obersports okay
To this day, Jared Cook and Micah Hyde should be Packers!!!
Packers always finds good talent
Did Thompson let Cook go or did he want to leave? I hear conflicting things.
Dak peaked in this game.
The game that made skip hate AR
Go Packers go
And till this day...
The Packers still own the Cowboys😁
There’s a w in the word “the” in the description.
aaron......
Joe Buck 🥴
Not a Cowboys fan: what's the deal with Dallas playing with the away uniforms in their own house? I mean the Packers look great in their home greens, but what kind of inferiority complex are the Cowboys infected with?
Packers defense on point every playoff game. They just stink.
Played great in 2021. Played good against Seattle in regulation in 2014 as well.
That image at 6:58 is fucking Insane!!
