I have actually made a crown with hot glue after drawing a stencil out. Afterwards I glued it to a head band to give it strength. Turned out great! I had actually used a mix of spray paint and nail polish to finish off the color. For some reason I never thought of my resin molds. This is a great idea! Thank you.

Does the acrylic paint not flake and peel off the hot glue?

Not in my testers - especially if you prime it first.

Whats really interesting is that wax sealers have been doing this for ages too! Since most modern wax seals have to be extremely robust to make it through mechanical postage sorting, much of it is chemically indistinguishable from hot glue, just with added pigments and metallic powders etc. Many of us will make custom wax in the form of these cabochons that can be melted to use in seal-making.
So it stands to reason that cosplayers could make use of some very specific stamps to create perfect 3d detailing! I'd love to see this explored!

If you choose to make embellishments this way, Do Not Leave Your Costume In The Sun. Or in a hot car. or in the entire state of Arizona. No one wants all that work to end up a melted ruined mess!
