Here you have this "chill", palm muted, Dorian Economy Picking Etude with chromatic passing tones and a quite challenging little sweep at the end.
Lesson:
The first two bars are the core of this exercise, the key for the right hand is to alternate up and down within each string but keep the same picking direction when changing strings, You can see picking patter under each note.
It’s got Palm Muting (P.M.) going on all the time in all the strings except for a couple of bars as you can see in the TAB. A tip is to apply slightly less pressure to the high E and B strings so notes can be heard but mute them considerably so notes don’t ring together when changing strings, especially for the sweep at the end.
The rhythm is a bit tricky to nail since you’re going from 3 to 4 and then 6 notes per beat but equally important is the fact that you’re going from 6 to 3 notes per beat when you repeat the two bars. What I try to do is focus on placing the first note of each beat is as precisely as possible on time and then the other will start falling into place.
Harmonically this etude is in D Dorian so it uses the notes in the
C major scale; except for the Bb chord when it momentarily goes from D Dorian o D Aeolian.

Finally man, so long, where tf were you. I’ve been watching your videos for years now, thanks!
Yeah, I stopped playing for a couple years focusing on other things but now I`m back at it, glad you like em.
@@DavidEscobarGuitar Glad you're back man, I started learning guitar 4 years ago and I've been watching your video ever since. I was watching your video right when you uploaded this new one. Keep shredding \m/
@@DavidEscobarGuitar how much skill did you lose once you restarted again?
@@Gramasz quite a bit, I'm still trying to play stuff I used to be able to. I noticed the rhythm feel suffered a lot too.
@@Gramasz at first I was very frustrated for not being able to play what I used to be able to. But being all that time away from the guitar gave a very different perspective of it. So now I might not be as technical in some aspects but I'm definitely enjoying the time on the instrument more.
Finally!
Super great as ever! Could you please do the song tab for the "New Jerusalem" solo from GPS band next time?
Cool, I like it. Can we expect restart of "Solo of the week" series? I bet I'm not only one that waits it :)
While we "wait", it would be cool to see you play Vito Bratta one more tiiimeeeee :D
DUDE WELCOME BACK!! You so I was looking for tabs for this can you make a video on the end solo from Huey Lewis's back in time??
