This really helped, thank you. I knew how to play it already, but I always wondered how Jake got such a huge sound out of it, and I realized that my chords were, for lack of a better word, incomplete.
Personally it’s best to not worry if that happens as long as it fits, your basically giving it your own stamp. Better than copying exactly because I find that so lame and much more fun adding your own spin, just like Tracy G did with Dio
If you practiced real hard it ain’t that bad. I learned this at my 4tn year of playing. I was real close to the guitar all my life. I started at 7 or 8... really started at 9. My first ever guitar was a really cheap First Act acoustic. Small in size. Learned some chords and mostly messed around on that. I then got another one. I messed around mostly on them playing randomly. Then at 9 my mom surprised me at Christmas with a cheap 80$ First Act Electric guitar that came with a tiny 9V battery powered practice amp which sounded horrible. That guitar was horrible... it’s for practice. I knew just a few chords and like 4 pieces from songs at the time. So, I immediately plugged it in and played. Sounded horrible but I learned on it. Scales, more chords... smoke on the water, AC/DC, and other songs...I then got a Strat finally and a better amp. Me and my buddy destroyed the fuck out of that First Act guitar and it’s amp... didn’t need it anymore and never gonna play it again because I got my Strat then more guitars. I sat under my bed all dented up and pieces all in it. We bashed it around. I had it with a cheap ass strap. I played on it standing up then at the end of my jam, I did a guitar bash. Bashed it on the ground, threw it. We just completely destroyed it lol. The amp I kicked with my boot and it flew lol. The amp i threw out the guitar I kept cause it’s first electric and it’s memories... lol. I’m now 24 and have a huge collection of guitars and gear I’ve acquired over the years. I was real close with the guitar and sat down with it for half the day on weekends when I was home. After school I’d practice, in middle school I’d take an acoustic and practice, high school I’d do the same and I even brought my guitars and amp with me to highschool and sit in a corner in the lobby next To the stairwell and jam out. A few times a let the sound echo throughout the lobby and the halls. Had volume up playing shreddy stuff, Metallica, Pantera, ozzy. I also played my own pieces. Lol. If you want to get somewhere with the instrument... practice your ass off 🤘🏼🤘🏼
Yeah he is a spectacular teacher I look for his lessons before all the others. Marty Schwartz, mike gross, and Carl brown are the best guitar teachers on RUclips/ hell anywhere really. \…/\m/
Your pretty accurate in your interpretation and is basically the way I have played this for years but in the bridge section when you go to the G chord, Jake added a little embellishment by hitting the 1st and second strings and he let them ring out. Listen to the original song and you will hear it. Other then that excellent man!
Does your guitar go out of tune when using the whammy bar? I was thinking of getting it, but I was told that without nut locks it will detune my guitar as soon as I use it.
If you use a Floyd Rose or Floyd Rose copy with locking nuts, no problem... It's what Jake E Lee and virtually every bar using metal player ever used. If you can learn to play it with out the bar, that in itself would be impressive enough!
you can setup your guitar to handle bar use better. Technically, it will go out of tune as soon as you use the bar because that's how it works. Releasing the bar should return it to tuned. Using it a lot will put it out of tune faster than just playing, but it's not a really big deal.
That's a matter of taste I guess. I'm more of a humbucker guy. Love the twangy Fender sound and the drive in this lessen, but I kinda hate the hum on those single coils..
12:30 this is the only damn thing holding me up from moving onto the solo. I canNOT seem to jump strings while playing fast palm muted notes 2 at a time. Not yet at least. :(
Josh Ellender Bro if you ever figured this out please let me know how. I can play everything else and that lick is driving me insane. Only thing I can think of to make it easier is start on an upstroke but that is still very alien to me.
1:30 verse
10:15 Pre-Chorus
13:30 Chorus
18:20 Bridge
One of the coolest riff, ever!! Jake E Lee is the man!
This really helped, thank you. I knew how to play it already, but I always wondered how Jake got such a huge sound out of it, and I realized that my chords were, for lack of a better word, incomplete.
Every time I do the main riff, I keep doing triplets. That's what I get for playing nothing but Iron Maiden
acornstairlift lol....I’m even galloping thru Kashmir ffs
Lol
Lol. Good one!

Forever stuck with the charge of the light brigade!😂
Awesome man. I tried this a few years ago but had a hard time. I always wanted to play it. Came back yesterday and getting it down now. Thanks
Keep at it. This song builds chops for sure.
Thank you so very much- being playing this wrong for years !!
Just goes to show YOU'RE never to old to learn new stuff.........
thank you so much for doing that in standard tuning ! lol. that makes things so much easier than having a "special " guitar tunes for that one song.
Dan Barbie the original recording is in standard tuning:)
Idk what's harder...trying to play this song or explaining how to play it!!! Tough song!!! Lol, GREAT LESSON BRO🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Yeah I got confused while trying too learn from this video lol

I finally learned it and holy fuck.. what a sick fucking song! Now to learn the solo! 😂
@@JacksonGuitarsPlayer03 I'd be surprised if anyone had read that
@@bobaIina Well, if anyone wants to... lol I honestly don’t really care also it was a while back
This guy is an excellent instructor..

Thanks for slowing it down man I do appreciate it!!
This shit gave me carpal tunnel. Jake is just vicious 🤘🏻 good shit. Thanks for the lesson. 👊🏻
Absolute great video....Nice detail...

Excellent lesson, and great tone on those open chords! You make it seem pretty easy, but I know its going to be a tough one to learn.
chuck H to
the chorus riff ooooh ....yeeeeeeah! I saw Guss G play it and had to come and then I'm going to go see how Carl teaches it. Oh ...nice lesson Carl
Great vid bro! Thanks for sharing! Great lesson dude!
Thanks for posting this - this is a fantastic tutorial. I also love how you're playing this with a maple necked strat! Awesome.
great lesson thank you
Great channel and video thanks
jake e lee amazing!
Great lesson!!!!
Thanks brosky!
Cool good lesson !!
Brilliant.
Thanks man you filled in the gaps for me
Clear as mud...haha. I suck at guitar but sure appreciate all who play it well.
Thanks 🙏 dude!
great job thanks so much for the post
video was so helpful, thank you so much!!!
Thanks!!! Keep doing more!!!
I can feel my wrist cracking every time I try that 10th to 5th reach... my joints are just too old and decrepit for that.
I like how your video has a split screen so you can see what is happening with the rhythm hand.
Easy to follow
Keep them coming! :) Very nice teaching! If you could teach The Assassin-Iron Maiden :)
Great Tutorial
Excellent
Great lesson man, thanks..=)
helped me a lot

RycheForOrder
Jake never used a bar at all, much less a Floyd. He used a fixed bridge and bent the neck for his dive-bomb sounds.
Jake never used a bar

Knight Solaire yes
Subbed! Ty
what kind of distortion you use mate?
Thanks for the lesson, very useful! Man those strats are noisy!
Yeah noisy but a sick good sounding noisy..
That's a matter of taste I guess. I'm more of a humbucker guy.
Love the twangy Fender sound and the drive in this lessen, but I kinda hate the hum on those single coils..
Just get another strat pickup rip out the magnets and solder it in between the switch and volume. Dummy coil

Keep practicing bro!
I struggled with this for weeks but it's actually pretty simple. Use pickslanting. Start with a downstroke and keep the pick at a light angle.
Bruh the small changes are so hard man 😭😭😭😭
Wow, what pedal or amp are you using to get such a heavy tone with those single-coils?? or are they stacks? ..........Thanks
do for flying high again please!!!
All good stuff, but I would suggest to run through the chords over which you are soloing before teaching a solo lesson.
The opening of the song, the first two, da da's were the keyboards. Give it another listen and you'll hear them.
Always galloping and when I arrive to this kind of songs of four notes of galloping is impossible for me. Some advice???
Witch pedals did you use?
I used to slow down the tracks to learn this stuff before youtube changed my life
yes i agree. this is not for beginners anyway :)
3rd fret on the 3rd string??????? where????
Idk ether i was like what the hell u have long fingers🤣
my english is bad, so ...some things not clear, but great job :D
12;53 double picking what amp setup is good for that part .
6:14
5:00 - on that chord progression with the stretch isn't he barring the "B" string at the 10th fret with his pinky on all 3 of those chords.
Yes, that is how Jake plays it, but there many other prominent players that do not play it like that. Play it however you want.
this shit is hard, but worth to learn
no its all standard tuning.
Does anyone know what key this song is in? And is there a key change for the solo?
a few mishaps but fairly correct
Anyone know a video that teaches the down n up picking of this song
Damn carl is there any song you can't play? How long have you been playing by the way I've been meaning to ask you that... ?
13:56
Jake had a unique tunning
i am just not able to get the correct tone maybe if people could also share their amp settings
that's all nice and all but some tab would just to be more exact
A aeolian in the the rhythm. Pre chorus is in e dorian. last chord before the solo starts the key change to d aeolian for the solo. fo sho.
You missed the rhythm section behind the solo
Song keys please and modes?
It's hard to stretch the fingers so much!
I cant figure out his tuning he has a unique tuning
Who am I kidding are you serious?
hoi
rhythm looks like a aeolian. solo in e minor.
Are you sure you know what you're talking about
こういう時はディレイ切れよ
Jake has a weird tunning
Thanks a lot
Great lesson
👍🤘

good looking out!
