- Pokemon is already a creepy franchise, from Lavender Town to Creepy Pokedex Entries, However there also exists quite a few horror fan games, and today I'll be taking a gander at some, such as Lost Silver and Hypno's Lullaby! Will they be good? I dunno lol.

BtW you can beat Hypno’s Lullaby by literally just running away from the battle and the game just kinda turns back into Fire Red.

Hypno's Lullaby does actually have a secret ending if you can run away from the initial Hypno fight (It's literally just the creator's FireRed save)
Additionally, the Lost Silver remake was a collab with the original copypasta writer and the guy who made the game, with the added parts being planned to be in the original creepypasta but cut due to length limit. They went off the radar before the story could be fully explained though.
I like Dylan the Knight Owl’s i terpretation of the story (he made like a 12 hour iceberg video on tonnes of creepypastas, defo recommend!) he interpreted the story as one about a famous and successful trainer eventually dying, slowly being forgotten, losing parts of himself as the years go by until he fades away into nothing.
1:57 I just got to this part, but that white hand isnt entirely made up. There is a genuine line from a girl in lavender town, where if you tell her that you dont believe in ghosts, she says "Teehee! Of course! That white hand on your shoulder; It's not real." Which is really weird for a pokemon game, and was even included in the "let's go" remake
And iirc there's an extended Lavender Town Anime episode in a series involving Red.

Hypno Lullaby was the scariest thing ever as a kid. Non stop looking up lore and creepy pasta videos. Glad it may a come back a few years ago

Lost silver is about the main character (Silver) being in purgatory, learning to accept his death after a long time denying it.
I thought it was about a rom hacker being sad that old games are forgotten
@@bluemagician9724 that too, but the character in the game itself is in a purgatory learning to accept death, which is a metaphor for someone learning to accept the death of older games, because silver himself is the namesake for his game.

When I was little, I found Lavender Town's music calming. Now it gives me a mix of nostalgia and unsettled sad feelings
I thought and still think it sounds like the atmosphere of people devastated in their mourning, to the point where they might be a little dangerous now, to themselves and others. Breaking inside, and possibly ready to (Pokémon) snap on the outside. Or just become really freaky ghosts when they die.
Ah yes the Pokemon Adventures manga, where everyone tries to kill each other all the times using pokemons -or swords- in a kid-friendly franchise.

1:55 I think the thing with Burried Alive was like it would somehow replace the final trainer in the tower and it would use White Hand because of the person outside of the tower talking about a hand on your shoulder if you tell her ghosts aren’t real or something and then you have to lose to Burried Alive and when you do he’d say something about fresh meat and then he’d eat you or something and then somehow Burried Alive would replace your Gameboy’s boot screen so that trying to play any game would cause the game over screen to appear or something. Also I distinctly remember the original story claiming that the game over screen was stored as a png file despite A. The boot sector of a Gameboy not being able to hold that much data, and B. The Gameboy cannot display any regular file formats because it can only read 2BPP compressed graphics data.
I think the game over screen just bricked the cart, not the entire Gameboy. And it had some kind of insanity-causing anomaly that I don't think was just the Lavender Town music but I'm not totally sure.

As someone who also watched RUclipsrs play creepypasta games on the internet at an age where I probably shouldn't have been... I approve of this video!
Easter Egg: Snow on Mt. Silver was my favorite creepy pasta as a kid. Although, Cursed Black was a second favorite. in fact, I love a lot of these Pokémon horror games. I just wish that most of them got completed and finished instead of cancelled

My personal favorite was Strangled Red, yeah its edgy af, but I love how it goes into the possible lore of a champion before Red or Garry/Blue though now I jokingly call it "A Dramatic Version Of A Failed Nuzlocke"
Snow On Mt.Silver is a close second but the creepy Pikachu kinda kills it
Another one I remember kinda liking was Blues Tears but looking back its so damn edgy (yeah most creepypastas were stupidly edgy)
FNF did get me back into pokepastas and I loved the take on Strangld Red and other pokepastas such as Mt.Silver and of course Lost Silver
as an FNF player, I can confirm, it's one of the best creepypasta mods ever, tho very hard when you don't turn off some features!

Hypnos lullaby fnf is so special to me because of the huge nostalgia hit and the attention of detail to the songs and fights. Monochrome goes crazy hard and I definitely recommend you listen to it if you haven't

why does lavender town always get used as a scapegoat in pokepastas...
Song that creeped people out, a story about a mournful pokemon wearing parts of its mother's corpse, and a tower that contains literal ghosts that you can't even attack at first, that're mildly implied to be actually dead pokemon.
In regards to Pokémon Cursed, every gym leader has multiple teams for different challengers depending on badges and skill level. That is my theory on why the mom bested the Ghost.

Another detail about Lost Silver - in the menus, the character portrait would gradually get more and more mutilated, losing limbs and body parts as the player progressed. Also, while it’s hard to tell from the angle of the sprite, the Celebi in the player’s inventory has only the right half of its body.

GOD the nostalgia of Escape From Lavender Town, I probably would have played it around age 6-7, I was obsessed with creepypastas at the time, I didnt find them scary but OH MY GOD, actually playing one terrified me, to be honest, the shock did wear of after a while but I will forever remember that feeling of my heart sinking into my chest as the game re-booted when I pressed ESC

Who else here would love a Pokemon game is graphic and realistic (as in how the animal Kingdom actually works)? Imagine having a Charmander as your starter and you completely burn Ratatas to a crisp, or a Squirtle which will slice through Pokemon with its concentrated water attacks, spraying the blood and guts of your foe everywhere. Half of catching a Pokemon is making sure you don't just literally kill it while bringing down its health to catch it.
The Pokemon manga The Electric Tale of Pikachu had that sort of vibe to it, that Pokemon are dangerous creatures which shouldn't be taken lightly, and one wrong move with a wild or tamed one can kill you or your Pokemon companions.
As much as I love the lighthearted tone of Pokemon, it would be awesome to have a more dark and graphic version of it, basically an Electric Tale of Pikachu 2.0
I used to think lavender town syndrome was real, since I got exposed to the pokemon creepypastas when I was very young.
White hand and buried alive also terrified me as a kid to the point I didnt want a Gameboy and copy of pokemon gen 1 anymore, this was way after they were able to be purchased via retail but weren’t as expensive as they are now. I thought they were also real and it terrified me.

I have a purple shirt with the original ghost sprite on it from lavender town. Even as a kid, that sudden shift in tone made me uneasy hahah. But i loved it so much as a kid, i saw a shirt about it and bought it as an adult
I'll be completely honest, I saw some of these when I was really young and they seriously screwed me up. The original RBY Lavender Town music genuinely gives me flashbacks to when I was young and thought all of this could be real, and I kinda can't listen to it without some sort of filter or warning.
So I guess Lavender Town Syndrome is real, and I have it. Lol

Many people started playing the games after watching the Anime, which was very much a kids show about cute harmless creatures, then you play the game and get to the creepiest city that is obsessed with death.
Why would normal type moves hit gengar post foresight? does it turn them psychic?
I feel bad for Hypno. Between the one episode in the anime, the scene in FireRed/LeafGreen, and the Pokedex entry in Generations 1-4, it basically became the series' boogeyman.
Hypno may be my favorite Pokémon but I can agree on that one hypno is pretty messed up
I recommend if you revisit this, look at Pokemon Dusk (Remastered specifically because of better balancing). Has quite a bit of content and a few dialogue choices that can change the ending.

Well, Legends Arceus has that. Throwing rocks and powder satchels less than punching them, but you can still fight the Pokemon directly. We need more of that though.
