    🚨📢 Update: *Module 2 is complete* 🎉🥳 --> pracnet.net/networking
    📺▶ Module 1 Playlist: pracnet.net/nf
    💭💬 Join us on Discord: pracnet.net/discord
    👇👇 _More info_
    Hopefully you've come to realize that I put _a lot_ of effort into the content I create. I'm not a course creator that will simply turn on the screen recording and ramble, then call that teaching. I meticulously plan _every_ module and lesson to _maximize the learning and value_ for the student. To that end, it takes me a while to put together courses.
    After Module 2, I have about 8 more modules planned going deeper into Networking. I plan to make this course _the_ premier Networking course that gives _everyone,_ in _any_ tech discipline, the Networking knowledge they need to succeed.
    *Let's face it, everything is connected to the Internet these days, and understanding how that works will set you apart professionally.*
    *If you want to support the full course's development, then the best way to do that is to spread the word about this content* . By itself it already conveys _a lot_ of value. So sharing even just the 7 lessons (13 videos, all free) in this series will help whoever you share it with.
    Plus ... many online communities would greatly benefit from these videos. Think of all the Internet points you could acquire if you shared this series (karma, likes, follows, etc.) 😉
    Use this link to share the full series:

    Just like any popular web series, I have been binge watching your videos since yesterday. Thanks to RUclips algorithm that I landed on your channel and immediately subscribed. The way you present the hitherto complex topics in such a lucid and comprehensible manner is mind boggling !! I mean in last 24 hours itself, just by binge watching your videos, my knowledge on networking fundamentals and the OSI model has shot up by multiple notches. It's incredible !! Not a single tutor in my career's last 10 years had explained the concepts in such an eloquent manner (that too free). Please accept my GRAND SALUTE and continue to do the awesome work !! 😇

  • @NMranchhand

    What does OSI mean?
    You’re a GREAT instructor! Truly. If there’s one thing you could improve upon is making sure you ALWAYS introduce an acronym only after you have spoken it’s full form, and the gradually shift in your speech to the use of the acronym alone, thus teaching the acronym as you’re teaching your subject.

    • @PracticalNetworking
      @PracticalNetworking  3 года назад +2

      That's a fair point. I make more of an effort to introduce the words that make up the acronyms when they are more relevant (you'll see this in Lesson 6 if you continue the series).
      In the case of OSI... the name is somewhat arbitrary. Open Systems Interconnect -- it's simply the name of the group which was trying to establish the standard. The letters don't actually mean anything.

    This is the BEST explanation of the OSI model I have ever seen. So many people don't explain why it is practical to use it as a model for networking, so it's just rote memorization of weird facts that don't' have any context. Especially when you get to the upper layers. You're a very good teacher and actually made this comprehensible, and INTERESTING, and not just a bunch of facts.

I’ve taken networking three times and passed with flying colors each time however, I don’t use it every day so things start to get fuzzy. Now I have to apply it again and need a refresh…except this refresh is many times better than any version I was originally taught.

    Amazing videos and very easy to understand!
    So just to test my learning and my understanding I will explain in a very easy way to see if I understood the 1-2-3 layers of the OSI model. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
    1)Physical Layer: Basically is the layer that we want to send data and to be able to send the data we need ethernet cables, Wi-Fi, repeaters etc. The physical parts
    2)Data Link Layer: This layer will try to send the data from PC1 to PC2. But to be able to send the data we need to have some routers in the "network line" between PC1-PC2 and the data from PC1 will hop to the first router with the mac address then hop to next router with the mac address and then to another hop for example and then hop to PC2.
    3) Network Layer: To successfully receive PC2 the data we need the IP address. So the Layer 2 and 3 works together and we have the MAC addresses from layer 2 and IP addresses from Layer 3 and with that the IP address between the last hope will receive the PC2 the data from PC1.

    One of the most practical series and so easy to understand difficult subject. Please create the full fundamental course, I think whoever will watch it, definitely get benefit from it. Also, if you can have some lesson on i.e Network types on VM, i.e. NAT, Host only etc work & How Kubernetes and WAN technology works in basic , then I will be grateful to you. Thanks a lot

    Why the hell aren't your videos more popular???? Your way of explaining things is much clearer than even that of the official certification trainers (not saying any names). I think you could 100% apply and be accepted for a role (at any company that owns certifications), your content is ample proof of that! Anyway, back to watching the video... :)

      I wish I knew!
      I'm much better at teaching than I am at Marketing and RUclips-ing, it seems. =/
      I used to teach Certifications, but walked away from that world. That world was more about quantity than quality, and I couldn't stand it. =(
