Silverchair is done mate. You need to understand mental illness and the pain that comes with it. Daniel has stated it will never happen so we have to accept it. That period gave him extreme highs and also caused irreparable mental damage. I suppose those who followed them closely in Australia will understand. Let it go, we’re lucky to still have him.
Yeah they are definitely done as a band but I would love it if the three could get together and be mates again maybe jam together for their own joy and get back to what they were when they started just mates having fun
@@nocrumpetspodcast8197 I wouldn’t say I’m obsessed with anything actually I think it would be great if they all could be mates again as they have been since they were kids nothing obsessive about what I said at all
Very well said :) I’ve just watched a ton of interviews and yeah there’s no need for Silverchair anymore (unfortunately) but I get it now. I think if he went back there he would be with Layne, Kurt and the rest of them.
Let's just let him be. This man's been though it since his teens. Give him credit for the survivor he is (Chris is a hell of a survivor as well). Daniel will be back when he's ready, with the music he chooses to make. That's how it's going to be. Hasn't anyone been listening to him?
It’s clear you’ve not listened to anything any of them have said. Daniel finds touring, stage work of any kind way too stressful and being in a band would mentally destroy him. So it’s not going to happen, period. To think one more album and a world tour is just inane. Just dial in the old Silverchair RUclips videos and leave it at that.
I’m honestly sick of all the selfishness of we want silver chair back together. I love their music. It will always be my favorite band. Always. It was magical and it spoke to me. But a reunion would come at a price. Daniel is not at all interested in playing live music anymore. He has stated this in interviews. He works on what he wants to work on. My only hope is that news breaks one day that the three lads are talking and building a friendship. I get it though. Music fuels our souls. It’s magic that we can’t explain. The more and more people just push for “ I wish the band would get back together “ the further that is from even happening. And if it comes at the cost of anyone of their mental health then I don’t want it. I could care less if there is ever another silverchair album just as long as they can patch things up and be friends again.
I was in the same mindset but You need to let sikverchair go. So many times he said he didn’t want to end up like those bands, all those bands do is play old music, he doesn’t want that. Dan has gone further than any of those guys let’s be honest, Dan evolved and changed so much, not stuck in the same place. The reason why he left was clearly because he wanted to do more, explore more, and he’s going to continue to do that. Let silverchair go.
. I saw an interview and he doesnt look or sound well. He has been a chronic addict for several years and his mental health doesnt sound good. I think he would struggle to go on tour with anyone.
But Daniel has done the opposite of what you claim. He hasn't evolved mentally or emotionally. He IS still in the same place. Well into him turning 40, he was partying, using substances, getting tattooed, experimenting with dressing up. It is totally immature. And his solo music sounds consistently outdated. Talk could have come out back in 2002. FutureNever could have come out 2013. It's obviously his creativity is stunted now which is why he rarely makes any music.
@@QuietPrism Most of the best bands have a short window of genius of 3-5 years. Even if they continue to make records, after they get rich and live privileged lives, they are less inclined to spend endless hours perfecting music.
The band's breakup was sad, but musically it was a good decision. The sixth studio album was going to be electropop. Silverchair played horrendous songs like "Machina Collecta" and "16" live. Those songs were going to be on that album. If Silverchair continued releasing albums, the resulting music was going to be like Daniel Johns' solo career with Ben and Chris playing. If people think that they could have the magic of a Rock band again, I think they are absolutely wrong. In relation to their friendship, everyone wants to see them as friends again. He struggled to sing half of their songs in 2007 when he was in his 20s. Now in his 40s I can’t imagine he could pull off even more of the songs. He won’t say that
As an Aussie, Silverchair is done buttt with the new interview from Chris and Ben might spark something to connect Daniel and Ben together... maybe part two will open up a lot about their current situation. They will forever be superstars especially over here. For the frogs freaks, dancers and creative souls.
Most great bands go through an amazing purple patch, usually in the 20's. For me, neon ballroom and diorama was that. Fantastic albums. Be very hard to top that. Sometimes its best to go out on top.
watch the three part interview Daniel Johns released himself, he explains the craic pretty well there. Silverchair took him so far and he wanted to continue to develop his art, not just stay in the safe space of familiarity, whats so difficult to understand? A true artist must always be in a state of evolution or theyll get bored and stagnant. Also such a insult to the work he produced post Silverchair aswell... the man played his drums himself when Gilles turned the olive branch down to play with him on the record...which topped the aussie charts aswell...fyi
Daniel is a musical genius. He is a once in a lifetime songwriter/artist. He should only be involved in bands/projects that bring him artistic fulfillment and joy!!
All things considered he’s lucky to be alive. Being the biggest rock band on the planet at 15 years old. Just imagine how that would affect someone psychologically and clearly it did. I don’t blame him whatsoever for ending Silverchair. I do feel bad for Ben and Chris cause they’ve left untold millions on the table. They basically retired at 32 and could have played for another 30 years. Like green day and foo fighters are still going at like 60. But it is what it is. They’re still only 44. I believe they’ll at least reconcile at some point, if not get back together. Hard to believe someone who wrote all those amazing rock albums would turn away from the genre entirely for the rest of their life. It’s even kind of hard to believe Ben and Dan even like the music they’ve made post Silverchair. It’s like they’re trying to put on a persona or be contrary just for the sake of it.
