the biggest problem evennow w Samsung is the color efficianty is lack luster and hardware cooling solutions no software can fix this. After i bought the pg Asus im never going back.
Hi Adam - these looked pretty insane to me and the colour was actually the first thing I noticed. Definitely recommend checking them out in person if you can.
@@AlexGTechHow is this Monitor for Office?
Alex is where I go for all of my Samsung videos!
Thank you so much David!! You da man 🥰
Very glad to see more completions in oled monitor market!
Totally agree, That anti-reflective coating is a nice differentiation too
@@AlexGTechvery nice - Something Samsung should bring to its Tablets I think.
Can you let us know if this is G sync compatible? I know you said to alot of comments you will check it out, so how does it feel to game on it, and it is supported?
AMD Freesync (i have the G6 oled one)
@@techgirl517 yes I know but you have to have g sync to have a smoother experience if you really want everything out of the monitor sometimes free sync can also be used on nvidea but not all monitors
I have rtx 3080ti. I want to change my monitor with Samsung Odyssey OLED G8 2024. Can rtx 3080ti run in 4k 240hz fps games like Apex Legends?
Plz reply me , thank you man . I am a viewer from India
Subha.
Hi there, I haven't tried that graphics card. The one I am using is the 4090. I checked online and it looks like you could get 1440p at 240Hz but maybe not 4K with that card.
@@AlexGTech thank you Brother
You replied it's a lot to me. Again thank you very much 🙏☺️
Is this G sync compatible?
Yes, but it isn't a true g sync monitor. Should still work fine, however.
@@imtheboctilian Will it be worth buying for gaming since its a 360hz monitor and I want to have a smooth gaming experience without screen tearing
@Jonasdeke I think any oled monitor will be worth it. I've had one for over a year now at its only 165hz yet it never has screen tearing. Oled is next level.
@@imtheboctilian thank you for the response and yes I would love to get an oled but I was always scared of getting burn in
@Jonasdeke it's way overblown. Keep brightness below 75% and just turn the monitor odd when you're not using it, and you should be fine.
The white frame is so off-putting :/ Stuff like that distracts me a lot
It was quite nice in person, I do wonder if they will make a black version…
how is the latest gen OLED when used for productivity? Are they still not ideal for reading text etc?
Will be testing this fully myself as that’s a question I have too. I am slight worried about the lack of USB-C but I will see how that plays out when I get mine soon
@@AlexGTech yes please address the productivity part in your detailed review. Will be thankful. I’m worried if I should take this considering I’m a full time remote software engineer and part time gamer.
I got the G6 week ago. At first I thought 'I can't read on this thing'! But I have fully gotten used to it. Not bad at all but a little blur. But when I am working all day, I have my documents to read on a different monitor.
The 4k is plenty clear for text work, but I would worry about burn in.
As for the 1440p model the pixel layout is more annoying, you'll have to wait for the next generation WOLED to fix that on that resolution.
Super curious about this too!!
for the odyssey no glossy screen and no usb-c = no buy. i really dont know why companies dont at least mandate usb-c at this price point
I thought that about USB-C too, but then wondered if the target audience prefers to keep USB-C peripherals away from the display area, not sure to be honest..
I am actually interested in high-end OLED monitors for other than gaming purposes. No type c is a deal breaker for me.
How would this compare to the new 32 in 4K QD-OLED monitors that just came out from Asus and Alienware?
They use the same panel, so they are very similar.
Asus uses an Lg panel, and Alienware uses the exact same panel from Samsung.
@@robbay8610 Asus offer models using both Samsung and LG panels.
@@robbay8610incorrect. All qd oled panels are from Samsung. The Asus that has an LG panel is the WOLED
With the G8 I keep reading you can’t hook it to the audio to your pc, that’s horrible and what was they thinking. I read the only options is the monitor speakers or a blue tooth speaker
Thanks for your review. Does this monitor supported VESA stand adapter?
Yes it does, it also has height adjustment and tilt/swivel.
finally g8 destroyed alienware oled 34 inch
I will be testing that exact comparison soon as I have the Alienware
Nice video - Samsung’s monitors are so much nicer and competitive in price than what apple is offering (not talking iPad Pro but the Studio Display)
yes, they do look nice the Pro displays from Apple but I think we have better value for money with other brands
I got this TV yesterday and returned it after a few hours. Yes the oled is nice blacks, colors, etc, etc. The tv is missing alot of Monitor settings that maybe you guys are use to! This is not a monitor, this is a 32 inch oled TV.
What did you end up getting?
@@pattip8110 I ended up getting The Asus Strix PG32UCDP.
Lol you just didn't know how to use it then
I need help. I just bought the G6 OLED and the screen appears to look like it's bowing. Almost like a backward curve. Anyone else see this problem?
The same thing happens to me. I thought it was just me going from a curved one to a flat one. But now I see I'm not the only one.
Does the Samsung M8 offer 3 year burn in warranty?
Not too sure but I will confirm that
Your going to need it. Safeguard+ wont stop burn in when you have image retention for amounts of time of the same content. Its going to burn in so that said. Get a warranty for your own.
And im sure someone will push this monitor to the limits as far as content and you will see burn in videos / images
@@AlexGTechhello have you checked?
How do you think the G8 will do against the Asus PG32UCDM?
@@EvgenyElbert Great feature.
That's the comparison I want to make! Whenever I can get my hands on them 😅
Man this is awesome! Everything we worked so hard for..congrats Alex! 🎉❤
Thanks so much mate, yes it was such a nice opportunity! Hope to do it again soon!
shame the M8 doesnt come in smaller size. wish they have a 27" with USB C PD
can't wait for my G6 !
Did you end up getting it? How do you like it. I just found an open box for and insane deal. After everything and selling it’s only like $200.
Why it's only FreeSync Premium Pro? Why it's not Gsync Compatible and VESA Adaptive-Sync certified?
Not sure to be honest. It supports VRR and Freesync Premium Pro, and matches all latest gaming console outputs but yeah, not sure why no G-Sync.
@@AlexGTech I have read the specifications on the official page and I can confirm what was said. I wonder why the Asus ROG Swift PG32UCDM monitor, which has the same panel, is Gsync Compatible.
Does these monitor use the QD Oled technology????? Do they get super bright? Are they good for watching movies and playing video games? Do they work with console ????? Do they have a built in cast/ Chromecast system fot screen mirror???? Does it support HDR/DV
OLED, as far as I know this is not QD but will check. It was indeed super bright even with all that daylight coming in. It has HDMI 2.1 so I'd assume console is fine, but I will check when mine gets here 🙏🏼
@@AlexGTech I know that the Odyssey G8 34" uses QD OLED - same panel as the Alienware 34". But I don't think the 16:9 displays are QD OLED.
Just double checked and it’s a combination of QD OLED and the same processor Samsung uses in their 8K TVs (NG8 Ai gen 3)
Yeah just double checked and it’s indeed QD with the same processor as their 8K TVs. It certainly felt amazing, despite the aspect ratio which I know some gamers won’t like. I could definitely get used to the 32”
@@AlexGTech pretty insane, that processor is used in the QN900D!
i bought just yesterday the G6 Oled but i am so pissed about the pixel shifting function... is there a way to disable it? is visible at the side bezels... sometime is larger in left and sometime larger on right.... very annoying
pretty sure every oled gaming monitor of some sort has the pixel shifting/pixel screening function
do you have any others issues with the monitor I was considering it but it look like it's not 100% compatible with gsync etc like there is flickering like many others oled/qdoled model
Most oleds have that to prevent burn in. It moves to whole screen subtly. I would not look to turn it off.
Excellent video once again, Alex🎉
You always give accurate information on every product you portray. Keep up the good work
What’s even the point of getting an OLED when a matte coating reduces and dims the vibrant colors and black levels OLED is known for? You might as well just opt for an LCD, save some money, and avoid concerns about burn-in. OLED gaming displays should definitely be glossy.
The G8 has eARC function, does it support dolby atmos passthrough from PC (using displayport)?
let me check that for you and get back
Did you hear anything about a curved display g8 4k 32 inch coming out or all quiet ?
No Dolby atmos on Samsung
AFAIK Samsung doesn't give 3 year burn in warranty for these monitors like all the other companies do. This makes buying Samsung displays absolute no no!
i wonder why they are confusing the costumers by not saying QD-OLED instead of OLED! also i want to know how to distenguish between Gen 2 & Gen 3 of G6 monitor ?
does the antiglare coating feel like a matte coating?
Yes but very subtle
how can this be so ?
i have Samsung Odyssey OLED G8
its a 34 inch curved screen ?
how can that be g8 as well ?
its strange
I went with Samsung due to 300 bucks gift card lol. I will pair it with my LG 45inch monitor
S24ultra grainy display crying in the corner
And me crying there too because I'll have to buy s23u to avoid the grain
4:26 There is no technical reason why a productivity monitor in 2024 should limit itself to 60Hz.
Alex which is better between the last Samsung odyssey g8 and the lg 32gs95uE?
Glossy or matte finish?
matte
The prejudice comes from the first oled monitor LG 27GR95QE. It's really milky matte. This one from Samsung is more of a semi-matte finish.
How different would you say this is from the 2022 34inch Samsung g8? I have that monitor and I’m about to dual stack with the ultra wide on top above this g8 32 inch
The M8 hasn't changed. it's a good monitor for the price, but time for improvement 😂
As G8 is smart monitor, can it play videos directly from external USB storage device without having to turn on the PC?

@@nickb365I am talking about the new model with 32" 4K resolution @240Hz
@Akarshit_Dawra o my bad man I responded to the wrong comment lol
@@nickb365 No problem man
I preordered the G8 last night, sold out online today. Got 30% preorder discount and $100 off coupon. I can't wait.
nice!!
That discount and coupon should tell you that these aren't worth their price-tag and have very inflated prices. It was the same with the G8 OLED Ultrawide. It released for like 1400, but you could preorder for 1100 and now it's available for 700-800. I got it for like 900. These monitors will be even cheaper than in the pre-order window very soon.
@@OZEEtube Yeah. It’s always worth waiting. I just got the G6 with open box. Over all will be like 200/250 something after selling my old gpu.
Note: burn in will still happen no matter what, not suggested for productivity
is the Bazel uneven on the bottom or is it just the camera angle on the gs80?
Anybody seeing artifacts when watching RUclipsTV or AppleTV?
Is this anti glare finish inbetween glossy and matte or is it just straight matte finish?
its semi glossy thats the coat they use for oleds
Thank you Alex.
thanks mate, these are insane!
@@AlexGTech - You have all of the *BEST* Tech mate. 👌🏻💪🏻
Is it nornal for this monitor to get a little bit hot around the Samsung logo at the botom?
I would like to know if the Samsung Odyssey OLED G8 is a good monitor for computer graphics.
Has someone tried it with Adobe products?
Epic lie! It's 250 nits it's so dim, you always want to add brightness but you can't cause that's all. Min must be 500 Nits, yes response time will be around 3-4 ms. To use this monitor you have to turn off all lights and even that is not enough. Please check the comparison video you not gonna buy this after, and you shouldn't.
quit trolling... You can literally see how bright it is next to a full daylight window 😅 more nits is always going to be good but like you said, at the expense of speed. Anyway, I am not forcing this down on you. If it's not for you, it's all good 😊
are this qd-oled? or woled?
QD
With the smart monitors, You can ez buy the wrong wrong as they all named the same for the most part
Yeah, hopefully my links take people to the right one, but the model names in the description can help too.
I have 20 friends , none of them want matt or antigalre ..... we all want glassy like why companies are so wired give the one , people like more first then give other what they want later .
I have the Alienware curved OLED which is glossy and I gotta say, it looks awesome but only when in fairly dark conditions. For me, the anti glare stuff will make a big difference. But I get the preference… What I would say is to have a look in person, if you can because it feels amazing to play on it.
1:52 G80SD does NOT have a headphone jack
there is no burn in warranty mentions from Samsung
Seems like Asus ROG is the only one offering glossy, 32 inch this year.. and it comes with an usb c port delivery up to 90w.
interesting! I wonder how that compares
What’s the difference between this and the Alienware aw2725dfv
Oled is fairy fast but most are not 0.03 mili seconds ..... Probably 0.1 .... Still super fast and that is one of the reasons I want one ....
I’ve seen some results today from people testing it themselves and they were pretty impressed. In real world usage this was noticeably smoother than my Alienware which I didn’t think could be beaten. To be fair the Alienware is a couple of years old now
Color calibration suggestions for the g6?
anti glare sucks only Asus and MSI wins with glossy oled , a real gamer lives on darkness everytime
haha good point about darkness. I don't know, I quite like to see the world outside every now and then. But then again, I am not a pro gamer
plus Oled will give you screen burn in... personally i play at least 8 hrs ago and have not a good idea for gamers
Samsung has inmplemented new tech on these models to precisely combat that. Time will tell of course but they seem confident. They showed us this new dynamic cooling system which is five times better at protecting against burn-in than their previous OLEDs. Apparently it detects static screen elements and rotates pixels to avoid burn-in. Time will tell but sounds really impressive.
What about brightness bcz i see before this monitor asus lg have brightness problem when play game i mean not enough for me what about this monitor
Will be testing that in full soon, but first impressions were excellent, considering I was right next to a bright window and the game was super bright and clear.
This sounds like an infomercial lol : "...if you worried about burn-in, this is gonna be a thing of the past now."
Yeah most of these initial videos feel like an ad.
Don’t people know that MSI & Asus buy their QD OLED panels from Samsung?
interesting ins't it! And there seems to be a lot of talk about this being "matte". I think there's a slight confusion there too. It's not as glossy as the usual glossy OLEDs but definitely not as matte as some may think
So, at this point, they've pretty much officially given up on MicroLED screens. Sad, considering how few things G7/G8 Neo needed to become the best all-round, burn-in-scare-free screens.
I did love that G7 Neo, have to agree with you there. Though using this was superb!
Not a fan of Samsung, I find the colors to be wayyy off and difficult to tune.
Looked pretty incredible to me, but I understand it.
What is so epic about it? 4k 240hz OLED has been on the market for awhile now. If anything Samsung is late to the party
You will have to see it in person, that new coating is a nice differentiator. Looking forward to trying it a bit more soon
My G8 review unit should be here tomorrow. Currently using the Ark. I have a feeling this might dethrone it and replace it on my desk…
Nice!! Looping forward to getting one too. Not available in the UK yet which is weird, only G6 at the moment
Was there any ghosting?
"If you are worried about burn-in, that's a thing of the past" Yikers man... That isn't gonna age well. OLED=Burn-in there is no way around it.. That's like pretending rubber tires on your car won't suffer from wear and tear over use.
I’ve been using an Alienware for two years and that has a lower level of tech to stop burn in which seems to work well, even though I use it for admin work (like Word Excel) for hours sometimes… Time will tell but the tech Samsung showed us to protect against burn-ins seemed more advanced.
Especially when hardware unboxed tested and showed burn-in less than 4 months lol.
I’ve never had burn in on and tv or monitor I’ve used.
I am.using oled from 2017 never had burn in. I have a b7 b1 and c3
Tempting, but I am waiting for the new Dough 32" OLED monitor, which I had pre-ordered a few months ago.
fair enough 👊🏼
I'm loving seeing OLED prices come down such that is coming across all devices now. We've just got to wait a few years for Apple to refresh the macbooks and we're golden.
Absolutely.. I am happy to see that too. I remember having to spend nearly 2K on a similar spec’s display at the end of 2022
Sorry for the stupid question but isn’t there another Odyssey G8 Oled that is bigger and curved that came out a year ago?
Yes, that’s right. They still sell that one as well
Is it good for Xbox x?
Speakers are you sure?
I think you're right, not on the G8.
Does the G6 monitor come with in-built speakers?
no
The uneven bezels are giving me major ocd issues. Wtf. How hard can it be to have symmetrical bezels in 2024! Wouldn’t buy it purely for this issue, oh and the crazy price
It's not noticeable, I have the G8 OLED.... It's also better than having a giant ass plastic chin with a logo that every other monitor has
Until you mentioned it I had not noticed this 😂
Sorry I don’t understand what the resolution is. 2k? 4k? 5k?
1920x1080 2140x1440 is 4k and so long the more pixels the better bigger the picture quality
Ah yes more OLED monitors where are the mini led ones
idk
That pic with Fake playing on that screen is amazing. He got the bluetooth power supply and Hdmi cables?
hahaha I wondered how long till someone noticed that - I thought the same. I think he is using the new neural chipset
Would be a huge upgrade from my current LG LCD 32 inch monitor!
Would hopefully go along well with my then new Microsoft Surface laptop!
They look super slick!
Wish the odyssey g8 had usb c power delivery. Reckon I'll be preordering regardless but interested to see how their new burn in technology works.
Indeed. Seemed pretty solid from the presentations. I think monitors are getting quite clever in how they deal with that. My 2 year old Alienware still absolutely fine and even though my son uses it more than I, I have done a lot of admin work on it too like word and Excel...
No Displayport 2.1 though. Seems Gigabyte and HP are the only manufacturers that have futureproofed their new 4K 240hz OLEDs.
Yes, DP1.4 on these ones.
Is there a monitor supports 2.1 with same specs? I don't think so. If they do they're not oled. Please inform me if there is any.
is it compatible with MAC mini?
heads up guys there is no burn in cover in the warranty
you sure about that? I think they are extending it to 3 years (instead of the usual 2). I will double check though
Looks good, what is the maximum HDR brightness for this monitor?
Both OLED G6 and G8 are 250 cd/m2

Thanks for your comment. I haven’t used the G4 or C4 so I can’t really help you. OLEDs can burn in if used with lots of static areas like Excel, or watching the same news channel for example where they have those static ‘lower thirds’. But newer models have implemented ways to reduce that. My Alienware for instance is 2 years old and has no burn in. Samsung has even better technology now so burn in should be a thing of the past now
