  • Being a truly inventive musician in 2022 is challenging. But Klangphonics, aka Markus Zunic, Maxl Walmsley-Pledl, and Ben Kopfnagel - reveal that it’s not an impossible task. Since forming in Germany six years ago, the band has developed a sound that blends drums, guitar, and diverse percussion with synths and sequencers; the result is deep house and melodic techno that feels organic and alive.

great interview... all questions that I have had, myself. These guys are so humble, seems like they hardly want to talk about themselves. it's part of their charm and they are so focused on their creation being all that matters. It's almost like "Just listen to our music and watch our videos and that will tell you everything you need to know about us." They are very gracious. so refreshing for such talented ones.

I was wondering how Ben could keep the die hard electronic beat up so consistently, I also find his stamina quite remarkable. I was a drummeress myself in the early days, could never have done that😮

A live techno drummer? I never would have imagined. His stamina alone kills me.

I figured they must be using a click track, but, he doesn't let it limit him. He plays into it and around it, never like a static deadbeat that has no breath! And stamina! Does he even break a sweat?! actually, they all play like that, into the click time and not let it limit them. That's what makes the music so alive, not computerized.

Thank you Luca for this interview!! It was so personable, easy going and you asked great questions!! I love these guys they are so down to earth, unpretentious, and their chemistry as friends is so nice, glad they found each other at school. I always wonder what happened to the other early klangphonics players like the bass player and the girl playing trombone. I wonder what made them go their own way.

I admit, I miss the live bass feel from the early days.
