I may have cried at that age. I've busked before but with at least one other so I would hyperfocus on the act of "practicing together" in order to hopefully get my brain to treat everyone else like my nose and essentially removed from my vision in order for attention-caused panic to not settle in, despite being ok with attention being the whole point in this form of exposure therapy.
The dresses and outfits for this event were absolutely GLORIOUS. Like, there was one lady, she was black and had this GLORIOUS white and silver diamond inspired ensemble and she looked STUNNING. What a waste, like, why not have a walk for all of these fabulous costumes?
Right! It's so sad to think about how many people put so much time, effort, and money into their costumes to have a fun Bridgerton-themed experience, just to get there and be way more dressed up and on-theme than the actual event itself 😢
and theres nothing wrong w that either. it just sucks that she was blamed for being there when shes just doing her job... its the event organizers fault for picking stripping as the entertainment 😭
the pole dancer even came out to say she was a performer who offered things like ariel suspension (i think) and other really cool things but the organizers chose the cheapest thing she offered (the pole dancing) while hiring her LITERALLY HOURS before the event😭 I feel so bad for her *i was only halfway through the vid and didn’t realize austin covered this but it still baffles me lol
I understand why people would say a stripper Now this woman is an oddity in that she's an aerialist and so above just pole dancing. However pole dancing when done well is an art like any other kind of dance or acrobatics and should at least be given the dignity of being called as such. A strip tease artist doesn't even need a pole to do a proper job. Clubs have them more as a tool, to enhance the range of the act.
@@thanksguiseppe1055 actually no. aerial artists typically know more techniques than pole dancing (and i'm not talking about lap dances; i'm talking about actual aerial movements that require body strength and skill). second, an aerial artist's performance usually isn't about selling sex. no legit aerial artists are being taught anything by strippers.

When I hear about these scams, I wonder what the set-up process was. Did the organizers actually say to each other, let’s scam these people and put out a fake apology later? It’s hard to think people rub their hands together and willingly act like villains.
I hope you cover the wedding make-up artist who attempted to 'expose' one of her clients online, but ended up exposing herself for ruining not one but two different wedding days...
@@saadbunni I really appreciate Austin's takes on interesting online occurrences like this, and am more than happy to wait for creators I enjoy to put together videos they are happy with, instead of needing to be the first to react. Some of my favourite YT documentaries cover events which happened years ago, but are being chronicled in the present day in a fun and engaging way. If you don't enjoy content of that nature to the point where it feels like 'brainrot', it's totally valid to try another form of content instead, or check out other areas of RUclips which might be more engaging to you.
That's why I never go to balls or parties where neither I nor friends I made through historical dancing know organizers personally. It takes too much to get prepared for (I literally handsewing for some event right at this moment) to then recieve something like this.
I’m suspicious things like this happen a lot more often than we think!!! That Vincent Van Gogh experience sounded like complete bs and then I saw reviews on it and I WAS RIGHT! pisses me off that people will make these overhyped and over priced events and just profit from hard working people who’d rather do something else with their time than be tricked like this. I value my time and money and this would’ve made me punch someone’s kid honestly.
Great work as always! I do have to say.. please don't apologize for the time off! Health and medical incidents can arrive unprovoked, and you need to take care of yourself first (as everyone should). You don't owe anything to your audience for it xo
Apparently there's been official balls hosted before in different areas to rage reviews so it could be either people confusing the fact or being bought in by the hype of previous successes
Good grief, it's not that difficult: classy venue, some security, hire suitable accoutrements for set-dressing. Hire a trio, or quartet to play Georgian music. Food if you must, but you have to have cutlery/china/glass (so make guests pay a deposit so you get them back!). Period drinks that can be served quickly. Mood lighting (preferably candles but fire risk).
Watching the pole dancer just in the corner while everyone is dressed to the nines and mingling is hilarious though. I feel so bad for the people who paid for this.
I would rethink your thumbnail. Tink is a teacher and a multi-talented performer. The event planner chose for her to perform the pole and her outfit for the evening. We don't need to invite hate on pole dancers, or pretend that Tink is an anonymous sex worker to gawk at, please.
This has been a scam since its origin. My mom’s friend went to it when it debuted and omg it was so low brow for the price they were charging smh I hope ppl stop spending money on this stuff.
I can't picture how mortified I'd be if I were hired to play music or dance there and I was the only one. I might die.
literally a nightmare becoming true 😭
i feel soooo bad for that violinist😭😭😭 like i’d literally have to leave

"The show must go on!" - if I were being paid I'd do my best, but yes - it wouldn't be fun!
As a professional classical musician, ALL OF THIS!!!!!!!!!!

Same.. like she’s a pole dancer right? I wish pole dancing wasn’t sexualized :(

Tink is not just a “stripper”! She is an aerial artist! Look at her page! She’s talented
That is the type of pole performance she did at this event, at the request of the event organizers.

Some obviously do, but I suspect most set out with good intent. They just don't get organised, or get overwhelmed, or don't have the experience.

Their about page HAS to be at least partially AI written... right...?
I absolutely had the same thought. The apology seemed to have been AI-generated too, it was super generic/non-specific.
did NO ONE learn from the Wonka Experience lol
Omg that's literally what I was thinking of when watching this video 😭
They did learn, it inspired them to make this event
These giant "event" scams have to be illegal, right? Or is it really just that easy to make money?
Ive noticed i always see these events advertised on Instagram, namely a game of thrones inspired ball. They all look sketchy as hell.

As soon as I heard "Bridgerton Ball hosted in Detroit" I knew it was going to be an emotional roller coaster.
can we go to a bridgerton ball?
Mom: we have that at home
The ball at home:
This is now my city’s legacy.
The FyreFest of Detroit.
Oh, it wasn't THAT good! 😊
is this something they can all collectively sue for? because i feel like they should genuinely take that path if it’s an option.

As a man from Detroit. I can tell you, the words “Detroit” and “Bridgerton” was destined for disaster

I feel so bad for these people because without their costumes this would've looked 1000x worse.
