The War Hammer is actually better than the Dabilahro against clones, because the WH X will knock down the clone, so then, you can spam XY to kill the clones. With the Dabi, the X will not actually down the clone, so it's worse in that one very specific regard.
I think there is a problem with the heavy weapons in NG1. Once you get the Dabilahro you have almost no reasons to keep using the War Hammer. And sometimes is unclear when you want to use the Dark Dragon vs the Unlabored if you only want to "one hit" (directional + Y/counter) enemies, which you will be doing a lot since these two weapons lack of combos
Hey Joe, first off i wanted to let you know I really love your ninja gaiden videos i played it when i was younger and it was a game that i would dream about beating and just come home from school and just grind at. I chanced across your videos and i went to buy a xbox 360 and ninja gaiden black just to play the whole game again. Many thanks for that! secondly, i would like to ask. How do you get the plasma saber mk II and dark dragon blade in ngb? Cheers and I hope NG4 comes out in the future.
Glad to know you got back into it :) You get the Plasma sword for 49 scarabs on all modes but only get the DDB on Hard and above for 50 scarabs. I've always thought it's a shame you don't get them earlier than that.
Damn, never realized how useful these heavy weapons would be against Fiend Ryu. I've always used the True Dragon Sword and tried my best to get an Izuna Drop when I fight them. Definitely gonna have to try that strat you mention at 22:13 to counter their input-reading bullshit. As for the >Y, I guess I just to practice aiming it, huh? It seems like the best way to deal with Berserkers. But I hate it when I whiff. Or when they parry it.
There's a surprisingly high amount of ways to cheese the clones. The only one that you have to fight fair is the Flail clone but he has weaknesses, just not as much as the others. While it is frustrating when the >Y is parried you need to just remember it doesn't alter the strategy. Just block and if they guard break, roll away and try again. Patience is key when fighting berserkers. A good way to practice >Y accuracy is any of the imp fiend challenges, try to get through it using nothing but >Y and you'll get very comfortable on where to put the stick to make it hit the mark you want.
I want to do a War Hammer run, but I think it may be too hard because of its limitations. I'll start off looking for the jab moves like Steel Severer and practising them. I think the challenge will be developing a style around the long start up times of moves and recovery times. The heavy counter slash will be invaluable. Got some good info here about how the block gets guard broken easily. In Sigma, I thought Rachel had a more interesting style with the War Hammer. I actually attempted a Wooden Sword run, but it was such a slog. Playing the game with the Wooden Sword is like a heavy weight boxing match which is long and consists of mostly jabs. Not being able to use the Izuna Drop, or rely on kicks like the Nunchaku just makes it needlessly tedious to use.
Dabi isn't too bad against cat fiends, because while they can dodge them, the XXXX(X)Y string has such a large effective radius that the cat fiends either dodge into it, or attack into it. Sometimes, they don't dodge it in time, and they just die. On Sigma, it's quite fun to kill the cat fiends on chapter 7 with the Dabi.
Sorry for the silly question but i have to ask, does the "bite of a thousand demons actually turn into a similar attack like murray grapple or it's just a simply thrust attack? Again sorry but ever since i was a kid that i wanted to know that ^^;
@@JayTB123 thank you so very much for your reply, ever since i was a kid and i saw my cousin play the original ninja gaiden on the xbox, i always wondered that
They really missed the mark on the DDB this should be like the best heavy wep in the game especially what you have to do go gain it. Had wet dreams of using the ultimate attack and like summon a dark dragon to kill shit like the final boss does. Such a waste
Never used the War Hammer once besides breaking through one of the first walls. Just fell in love with the Dablahro
Ninja Gaiden 2 was lacking that.

Greatest master of NGB alive
You could say this video is quite information .... HEAVY

How do you get the dabilahro in very hard mode?
How you unlock the dark dragon sword
You get it for 50 scarabs on every difficulty above normal.
Complete 50 scarabs on hard mode- master ninja

Good point. I've got a save file right before the Peristyle Passage fiend challenge. I guess I'll practice my >Y attacks on them. Thanks again.

It remember the little green thing on the war hammer breaking off when I was young

Now is your chance 😏

Unfortunately no it doesn't but that would be really awesome if it did

How do you have all of the weapons in chapter 2? Is there new game + in NGB?
This was recorded with a later save where I just went back to this area. Would be great to have all these weapons early though.
The Dabiliho is *My* dark dragon blade. Too powerful for mortal hands unless you are Godly.
Great! I like your videos!

I always loved the Warhammer, but I never played it. It felt too clunky. much more than the Dabilahro.
The Debiliro
Man some of these visual effects that they took out of black in sigma. Makes me sad
