Fenix are good eggs. There was some news related to PMDGs upgrades, you might want to look at, it sounds like there may be an upgrade cost. PMDG is definitely the type of company, that would charge given the mere opportunity.

Agreed, runway lights are way dimmer than the surrounding street lights in real life! That surprised me quite a bit actually when I flew during the night for the first time!

@@springmediachannel I tired ctrl + alt + number (save) in MSFS 2024 and it didn't work. Are you sure that's how you save camera positions? Worked fine in MSFS.
Early in the video, the right-wing aileron appeared to be stuck in the up position. The video stayed on the left side after that. Aside from that the simulation looks very good with fantastic night scenery.

If it’s not ready then how are people flying now? The Fenix works perfectly. The issues presented on release were due to the servers but it’s literally really polished now that’s out of the way. We just need downloadable content in the manager and people will probably consider binning off 2020. For me and my fitness the sim has been working great if not better than 2020 now

I agree with springmediachannel. If money is tight, get the Fenix if that's what you want to dive into. But unless you are 100% into airlines, MSFS 2024 offers much better value and variety and you get the career missions. However maybe consider this in a few weeks as some teathing issues are still in the sim, although it's got a lot better last few days.
Haven't bought Fenix yet. Was against the fence for some time, but seeing how reactive they are this might make me jump on the other side. I have iFly and PMDG, I'm usually a Boeing guy, though I enjoy flying the FBW A320.
I like Boeings aswell and I have been a loyal PMDG customer since FS2004, however their products have barely improved. Their 737 looks like a port over from P3D and it took ages for them to release major updates, which messed up the flight dynamics. Fenix however is the best in the industry and deliver top quality products for a very reasonable price.
My one downside with the new sim is the streamed content for example I bought the LVFR Static aircraft pack years ago and now seeing a Air New Zealand 777 at Innsbruck just feels wrong

I tried Fenix today in 2024 and for me it's completely unflyable :( Slide show about 8-10 fps, PFD and ECAM displays refresh rate is a few frames per minute.. And APU start button is always blue, even when APU's started it's not turning green.
The lighting setup appears rather unrealistic to me and seems to be a general weakness of the simulator. In the real world, such vibrant, glaring colors don’t manifest with this intensity at a distance.
I'm getting terrible performance from the Fenix in 2024. In 2020 it was/is the worst performing addon for me (even with the recent supposed optimisations) but in 2024 it's much worse and I'm having to rely on Lossless Scaling to avoid a slideshow.

It was because the speedbrakes were still slightly deployed to reduce speed :)
