Rotary can be wide open throttle all day long no problem, 2jz can not handle that, it can makes tons of power but the way that guy drove that boat it got to be a rotary or in a drag race between boats then yes, will be a good race
And what did we learn from this? That new Zealand builds the most and the best rotarys in the world

+matthew von except you can get way more torque from a V8 with the same amount of money. so for most guys, if the V8 fits, in it will go.
no doubt, V8s cän be torque monsters, but so can Rb and 2J. I mean common, who buys FD and say i bought it for its torque curves lol. to each their own brother
francis brown don't get me wrong, i love lots of different engines in different applications. it's just that certain motors naturally suit certain applications better than others. that's why the fastest drag cars are almost all V8's, and the best drift cars (as far as putting on a good show) are rotaries. nothing beats seeing a car sideways at 100+mph screaming past 8-9,000 rpm.
These were the fiercest batch of cars I have ever seen!

Visioracer I am certain the RX2’s are all the same car - quad rotor quad turbo built by Curran Brothers Racing (CBR). Just at different stages of its builds. Fantastic car! 😎😀👍

what potential? quad rotors can have in excess of 1500hp however the power curve must be really steep at those power levels... and yes there are 26b's on the track (hks, rotary magic fd was a track car, also from usa there is a 26b rx7 on a track)

That Lexus has the sweetest sounding 4 rotor in history.
Great video, only thing I saw wrong was that the RX-8 has terrible power figures compared to the RX-7 (obviously referring to the FD3S which came with a stock twin turbo REW, so of course it makes more power than the renesis in the 8). The 8 is not twin turbo stock nor do any variants (including the mazdaspeed version I and II) come with FI at all. The rensis is the most powerful NA rotary engine mazda put into mass production which means it's last comparable RX-7 model is the S5 NA RX-7 FC and not the FD which everyone compares to since it was the last rx-7 model produced, so that is why people are generally disappointed with the 8 because all they compare it to is the FD. If you're looking at the 8 vs the FC from a stock for stock point of view, the 8 is an amazing car with a very much improved chassis and midship layout vs. the FC, but if you want to make more NA power, this is where the renesis is limited as the room for porting is very minimal as the ports are pretty much maxed out in size. You can street port a renesis and even do a very small bridge port, but good luck break 230whp. Now looking at all previous rotarys there is plenty of room for porting and gobs of power can be made from it, so that's another reason rotary builders and/or tuners aren't exactly too fond of the renny either, But I like the renny which is why I chose to S2 swap my S1 and build on the car's strong points instead rather than gripe about it's one "weak point". Just my 2¢ after reading the captions for the 8 in the video is all.

The power that rotory engine make:
2 rotor is equal 6 piston, 3 rotor equal 9 piston, 4 rotor equal 12 piston and 6 rotor equal 18 piston.because each surface of the rotor is the part where the combustion happens in every rotation.
All of the older school rotors were ace too, the rx2, rx3 etc😍
I'd buy and learn all about Rotaries just to fucking daily one and piss off everyone I drive next to c:
+MSanti98 Been there. I give props to the guys that tune them. But stock ones suck. 4cyl power, worse fuel economy than a V8 and have to be repaired as often as a ferrari.. Rotarys are a failed design, but being different is cool

Well I didn't expect to see one of my clips in here.....
And for the record, they are all the same RX2, its just been through a few different paint jobs and engine setups. Driven by Brent Curran, currently running in the high-6 second zone. Started out life as a triple turbo 20b, then the 26b with a single GT55 turbo, then the same 26b with 4 turbos. Currently the world's quickest and fastest 26b powered car with a 6.89 second ET
Wow, what a history it already has. I thought they are all the same, I just didn't want to put a lie in the video if it would be. Anyway, very very cool project, 4 turbos on 4 rotors is pretty sick combination.
Just an update on this car, although not sure how accurate this news is, the turbos have been removed and is now going N/A with some monster porting and from what I can remember a 500hp shot of nitrous oxide down its throat as well as its strict diet of methanol

As far as Im aware mazda will sell you a 26b engine but its not cheap. Many of these quad rotors are actually custom made so they are not really an authentic mazda 26b engine. Though due to the simplicity of the rotary engine they probably dont differ much in design and finished products as most custom and original 26b are basically two engine stuck together

For us cali guys.. 4 rotors arent an option unless u want your car crushed.. Ls seams like a "no brainer" alternative to enjoy more horsepower.. Reliability.. And more fun than stock!

John huijben built that FC from the ground up, built the e-shaft from scratch using a solid tube of steel a pc program steelworks I think it was and a manual mill/lathe, no digital cnc. Every part of the engine was modified, rotors, casings, endplates, bearings, both oil and water pumps. The subframes on the car, the chassis, the body everything. He has a build thread on a rx7 forum.
