The major reason behind muzamil bhae's lack of understanding of populism is that he doesn't understand what providing simplistic solutions for complex problems means. ( For example, "Roti, kapra, Makan" is not a simplistic solution, yes these are mere three words but their implementation requires changing the overhaul of Pakistan's governance model; "Vote ko izzat do" is not again a simplistic solution, you have to implement rule of law and democratic culture in letter and spirit to follow this slogan which is quite a lengthy task; "Tax the rich" is again not a simplistic solution to a complex problem; but arresting two or three political opponents for correcting the entire flaws in Pakistan's governance model is surely a simplistic solution). There is a huge difference between providing a simple solution for complex problems and providing well-thought-out solutions portrayed simply for a complex problem.
Muzamil bhae words pe mat jaeye concepts or nature of the argument pe Jayen.
And in the last muzamil bhae just like the scientific or factual things you or I can't change the definition of populism according to our point of views. Populism is a political concept and it lies at the forefront of Modern Political Science, its definition or concept is neither established by far-right nor far-left, it is an academic work.

Hats off to Muzammil for being so patient to all this hypocrisy while maintaining his eloquence at the same time. I'm halfway of this podcast and I can't stop myself writting down some thoughts here. First of all I am a huge fan of Shehzad's podcasts. He's having conversations, nobody is having!! Having that said, this podcast has something, it is so so so real. So raw! I do not know much about Muzamil, so many of the background stories I had no idea about. Still, you could perfectly see on the first hour his need of defending himself. Like I felt kind of pity for him, even a little anbnoyed where he wasn't ready to assume some facts... Later, how bravely Shehzad put out some "personal" attacks to him and I was about to cry. This felt so real, so humaningly true. Finally a podcast that make us see how we humans are, full of flwas, full of doubts, full of 'feelings'. I love how this shows that we must sit down and talk peacefully, even when we complain, do it right, listen to each other. And right now I'm where Muzamil starts to cry. I had to stop to write this down before it changes my perspective at the end of the podcast. This converstation has touched me differently Shehzad. You're doing such great job MashAllah! Hope to sit down someday talking about everything in your podcast, Regards xxxxxxxx

As someone who didn't know about either of these gentlemen before watching this, I must say I would give credit to both the host and the guest for having a candid conversation. My two cents: if you've already got them cornered, no need to beat them over the head with it. I understand that's not everyone's personal style, but in my view, the host would've come out looking more grounded after a solid confrontation without continuing to buckle down and hammer the other person once your point is made. I'm intrigued to see what else comes up on this channel.

Maybe this was not the best occasion to confront a guest about some remarks ( albeit of personal nature ) he has made in the past and try to embarrass him in a Podcast that ten of thousands of people would ultimately watch. Also, I felt at many points, Shehzad was not allowing the guest to talk and cutting him off in the middle. Could have perhaps adopted a more polite approach.
