Very kind my friend - one of the things I try to do is follow the blade of my opponent to the target with either attack or riposte. Smallsword is a very intimate weapon and fighting a thinking fighter like my friend here gives you the opportunity to practice with style. Thanks again for noticing

Hello Buddy - I am 'the man in Black' - you sell yourself short - that was an excellent intelligent set of exchanges and you are a pleasure to fence..........

@@AlanP625 Great to fight you once again! What style of smallsword were you using by the way? I want to look it up! 😁

@@CafeUlg - and you my good friend. I was using a Feather Smallsword. I tend to alternate between that and a Shrewsbury Armoury......both now set with Size 2 blades. I have also got two HF Armoury (matched pair) set with '0' blades - as cheap as chips and 'great fun'. Next time we meet we can use those. The smaller blades make an awful lot of sense.....I have also got a pair of Musketeer blades (size 5) not sure how they will be used - but they are interesting........

@@AlanP625 I meant which manual were you following 😆 I've seen a few in the French style with the arm back but I've never seen one with the arm forward like you were doing, it made getting to the grapple look so much easier! 😁 (I'm still tempted by a feather smallsword though)
