    Hello mate, thanks a lot for that video. I do live between Brazil/ England and have been looking for houses to buy in French Riviera last months by websites. Your video is exactly what I've been looking for: differences between both sides before to buy my new house there. Next year I'm going to visit French Riviera and Italian Cost to close business about that. Congratulations for your video. It's great. Thank you.

    Menton - cute small city. We were there today. It has definitely improved compared to when we were there 20 years ago. I don't even remember Ventimiglia anymore, but I agree with your comparison.

    Great video thank you! I was wondering if you had any restaurant recommendations for both places, especially Ventimiglia.

      Thanks. In Ventimiglia the restaurants on the beach seaside are good for quality and price. I recommend LA GIARA. Quality, quantity, good price and nice staff. In Menton L'Hexagon or places around Place du Cap.

      In Ventimiglia, Giannis' on via Cavour is great for a light lunch on a hot day. Been there several times.

    Menton also historical Italian Town , the castle in Menton built in the 10th century on the initiative of the Count of Ventimiglia

    Menton was Mentone, an italian town, also Nice was Nizza before the french deitalianize it at the end of XIX century. Most of the people living in Nice/NIzza, moved to Ventimiglia in order not to become french.

      @@Caleidus Yes, right. However still there are many Italian surnames in Nizza and Mentone, as well as in Monaco, starting from... Grimaldi.

      Well they could have taken back Menton in 1940 but were incapable of it against an already defeated France. Il Duce's first loss of a series of embarassing battles.

    I feel like Venti has the potential to be the best town in Liguria, it has everything there but does seem like it is abandoned and the new town is being built up with lots of apartment blocks which is sad, they still have not started to fix that footbridge which was broken 4 years ago and the beaches do get full of rubbish. There is the immigrant situation although ive never heard of anything bad happening from it, in fact you will rarely see them maybe only at the train station. The food is much cheaper than in Menton and better. Menton is still an unofficial italian town, if you go there you will hear more italian being spoken and every person in the shops/ markets will speak both italian and french. Menton is quickly becoming a very expensive area (maybe it was always like that?) but the holiday rental prices are even higher than the other French Riviera which is insane. The old town with the beach is stunning.
    At the moment i would prefer to go to Menton but overall id choose Venti especially when the footbridge is fixed and the immigration is solved. I really like it there.

      @@piedpiper1201 actually we saw many French tourists in Venti. I suppose they go there for the affordability and the more free, easy going ambience.

      @@wiwi_life yes i am sure its true, ive never been in the high season were the beaches full? lots of french people living on that coastline come to venti just to do food shopping because its cheaper (especially from menton). also on friday is the big market day and many come for the day out

    i have been there. do not forget the refugees in ventimiglia. Safety is sadly a real issue.

    • @wiwi_life
      @wiwi_life  4 месяца назад

      Yes indeed it's a sad situation. As I saw the two countries managed the issue differently. In Menton there's no one apart from tourists or tourism workers. I don't know what laws are they using to do that. In Ventimiglia the situation is not tragic like it was. There are migrants, they sell on streets, but it's not an uncontrolled homeless or refugee camp situation.

      @@wiwi_life there is a camp behind the town on the river, before you get to the hypermarkets...maybe its gone now but was there last year

      @@piedpiper1201 data and news that I received is that the camp was closed on may. And that there are maybe 10 to 40 refugees in the town zones, because the report is that in the last months France "opened" and they got to France.
