This is very interesting. In my area, medical has always refused to enter an area until we secured the scene. Our med guys would laugh their asses off if we asked them to wear plate carriers. EDIT: They would tell me that they are not Desmond Doss.
Every video you made you give me some ideas to how setup my plate carrier...i usually be in the assault team but we dont have any EMT/Paramedic in the team...i try to suply the team with medcare. You help me a lot
6:00 Duuuude, I feel your pain. I've always been a tiny guy (I joined the Marines at 5'6 118 lbs), and finding kit that fits me in the shoulders is a Sisyphean task. I currently run a JPC 2.0, but, as you said, those "quick release" shoulder pull tabs are just for show at this point because there's no way I can get any plate carrier to fit me properly (I'm currently 5'7 150 lbs). That said, and going back to my first sentence, at 5'6 118 lbs in 2002, I wore the old Interceptor Vest, and everything on the market, right now, is better than that thing. So perspective helps lol. Cheers.
@@shepherd3085 I have the JPC 2.0 in small. There's tons of slack in the shoulder system that if you're about 5'7, 150 lbs, you'll have too much slack, even.
Since I'm not a Paramedic, my plate carrier has magazine pouches on the front, pistol holster and pistol magazine pouches on the sides. I am going to get a trauma kit and other 1st Aid Items to put on the back of the carrier.
Great video full of good information. After your videos and others alike I decided to purchase this plate carrier. Thanks again for taking the time to make this video. One question, what kind of radio do you have in the video?
Great review! I have a Maximus and hand warmer I’m going to try on my Trex Arms AC-1. Tried to find your knife the website didn’t show it, are you still selling them?
Unfortunately I think he is currently sold out but I think he has a batch coming through soon. He does them by hand and he is a one man show so it takes a bit. Sorry about that!
I got their maximus placard when i couldn't find a helikon tex mini rig, I like it. I think the helikon looks like it might be better barring poor quality, you can ditch the dangler bag, little bit more storage 4 mags vs 3) Tfbtv gave it a shout.
You started this channel off with a buzz cut talking about some cool shears with a nice clip feature. Now you're going over plate carriers with a med reg and a beard. It's amazing. What's your mindset for keeping the channel going?
Do you by chance know where HRT manufactures their gear? I'm on a bit on a buy American kick right now and I'm curious if their plate carriers and other gear are made in the USA.
If yer buddy’s a jerk…oh ya right we’re medics.LOL. Great video.. would be interested to see it In action. Back pouches are nice for extra stuf but if you are operating any equipment it tends to push you forward in the seat..
made in China. i had one and didnt like the build quality personally. stitches weren't tight and clean, and fabric felt too thick and heavy. but to each their own, it is a solid cheap carrier no doubt.
All depends on your mission set. In law enforcement most of these carriers are worn over soft body armor which Has side protection, just not full rifle protection. The data for side armor is not super strong and frankly is not used very much because of its low coverage area, expense and added bulk where a patrol officer is drawing their side arm
First time watching a review on RUclips? The word you are looking for is biased. The fact is that I do hundreds of reviews, if I bought everything I did a review on I would be broke. I use some of the gear but a lot of it I don’t and I have no incentive to say nice things about the stuff I get sent. So yes, I have some bias but is it more then someone who is doing a review to justify their own purchase? Maybe, but also maybe not.
A little bit off topic, but I would love to see/know what you guys packed in your hospital bags for when the little one was born! Congratulations!
Second this, just out of curiosity. My trips are done hopefully!

You should do a video on traumatic brain injuries and the prehospital treatment

i switched to a ferro slicker and it adjusts real nice since I have the same problem
I'm about your same size. What size jpc are you running. It's a tossup between small and medium

I’m wondering if me being colorblind affects if I can join fire fighting?
Depends on the Department. I would ask the department you are interested in joining!
Can you do aa review on the rescue essentials
That knife looks like a perfect fit for what I’m looking for, but I don’t see it available on their site, still available?

Are these made in the US ?

What radio and ptt are you using???
Is this plate carrier comfortable when you're prone? Do the pontoons make it uncomfortable?
I had both the d3crm and the hrt. Unless u REALLY need double zippered pockets with individual identifiers, the d3crm is the way to go.m!
hello , which radio is that ? :)
The tubes are not HRT specific. They're 3M made, a lot of companies who can't have the Og tubes use 3M quick release system.
Do you by chance know where HRT manufactures their gear? I'm on a bit on a buy American kick right now and I'm curious if their plate carriers and other gear are made in the USA.

Where is this made?
What’s in the pouch labeled RS?
Rescue strap. Here's his vid he made.

The Velcro loop that is placed in the pocket to help hold/organize... I cannot track these down. Any ideas?
RDR gear makes them
@@PrepMedic thanks - are these just the mag inserts?
Hey prepmedic or any medics or firefighter out here.
One question can you use AED on a drowned person?
Yes. Just wipe away the water. Standard CPR still applies.
Yes.

Absolutely love that Hand Warmer Dangler, can you provide a link for it?
Thanks!
Its made by hrt as well just look under accessories
I never understand the practicality of having pouches in the backplate, why not use a backpack?
Economics don’t work well and the backpack rarely sits solidly behind a plate carrier. Also, additional straps make it very hard to shoulder. Rifle.
@@PrepMedic I SEE thx for the answer

The inexperience baffles me Everytime I see rigs without side plates. Side plates are always needed

You got it for free; now you are doing a video on it. Sounds like a conflict of interest. Anything you say is tainted.
