Ring of Fire is what we called the drill where 1 person was in the middle of the team in a circle and the coach will call out a number to tackle the person. Great Awareness and Tackle drill. Miss those days (Back from 06 to 2012)

The defensive backs aren’t allowed to wrap up because it’s a blocking and contact drill if you wrap up and tackle you get in trouble from the coach. It’s basically the CTE drill.
@@TigerFamilyLife so it's a run trough your teammates drill. If it's not a tackling drill to teach contact both for ball carrier or defense then no point in running it. If its just a running back contact drill then the kids should be using hit pads no reason to have your kids out there taking damage for no reason other then to stroke some kids ego. Really bad couching in my opinion and I couched peewee for a long time.

As the tail back from PeeWee FB through High school, I learned this pretty quickly and decided if someone is going to end up taking most of the pain . It my as well be them. I ran and hit as hard as I could every play at all times. Hurts hardly any if you hit them with all you have. It really works.
Well.... There's definitely two kids that will be playing on game day. The second kid wasn't afraid and definitely laid the wood he just didn't wrap up. Titus is tough though. Good balance kept his feet. Gotta give him that. Sweet#21
Trying to truck everyone makes you more tired and less able to gain ground and run, I’m 14 and I’ve went my hardest like this In practice and ended up with 3 concussions, rn I suffer severe back, knee, foot, and neck pain, I also have sharp pains going down my arms and legs, enjoy it while you can(I’ve been playing football for 6 years)
No he ain't none of them were tackling correct they didn't wrap up, didn't go for the knees/hip and didn't drive forward none of this is impressive by either side
@@Casual_Moai this is clearly a “set the tone” type drill, I doubt anything is being taught here other than how to be ferocious. That’s a good thing though because you don’t want a bunch of nervous Nancy’s out there actually getting hurt.
Sad to see this at that age, y’all need to teach fundamentals that kid clearly has more experience than the other kids with out proper fundamentals that will lead to injury
If someone teaches this kid to get low, he may be even better Edit…. All the comments on critique…… they’re kids in a high tensity drill. Reps will definitely add to them.
