For some reason, I find the one on the train deeply unsettling. The cloth on the seats with the wooden armrest and legs for some reason, reminds me of a funeral home, and just makes the whole picture rather uncanny

Nice to see you are doing liminal spaces from Southeast Asia 👍 I'm very interested in southeast asian countries and cultures in general, I'm married to a malaysian which is why I have a personal connection to the country. Malaysia and Indonesia are quite similar culturally and by landscape/architecture, these places look like they could have been in Malaysia as well.
It's very interesting to see liminal spaces from other countries in general because the feeling of liminality is often connected to nostalgia and what places you have often seen in your life, so each country has their own things people feel liminal for.

i used to go to watch movie theaters with my parents in the mall until its late at night and the vibe is immensely cool, all the lights turned off, shops closed, little to no people, ill get paranoid that maybe they closed every entrance possible but luckily thats not a situation me and my family had to face

Those trees in the train station photo remind me of the lepidodendron tree meme. Imagine the horror of being transported to a train station in the middle of nowhere only to see a deep forest filled with prehistoric trees that are known to be extinct and then realizing that you've gone through a rip in the fabric of time.

As much as I enjoy the reduced tax rate of my local municipality, I don't know whether it was worth the public good offered by the communal ball pit. I feel like by removing the communal ball pit, truly our community has lost a touchstone in what it means to be a proud citizen.
