OMG thank you! I found your channel by accident and it's very helpful. I have just started my saddle fitter practice and there are a lot of questions along the way. And your videos helped me find answers.
Your Videos are amazing!Thank you, would love to have such a good educated, sympathic and energetic saddle fitter here in Germany, till now, I did not find anyone
Thank you! You answered all my questions. I don't know a whole lot about saddle fitting but I did figure out that the Wintec regular AP didn't fit my little tank this morning. Just before watching this I was able to find and buy a wide one. Hopefully that will end my saddle nightmare!
Yaaay I was waiting for this video ! I got this Wintec Wide a week ago. I'm from France and have had so much troubles finding a saddle fitting my croup high cob (England sounds to me like a paradise island regarding the saddlefitting situation ^^ ) I ended up buying the wintec wide with 3XW gullet and the biggest front riser inserts and I feel it helps BUT I fear it's too compressive ..? Could you talk about the insert system ? Is there a way to know which size suits the best ? Bye and thank you Poppy for all I learnt so much from your channel already ! 😘
Yes! Good idea, talking about the risers. Sometimes it is worth trying to go down a bar size in your situation - if you have to have so many risers to balance it. Remember the measuring thingy isn't 100% accurate, and because the saddles are so short-pointed, going down a size can help.
I was really waiting for this video, however it didn’t answer the most important question for me... what is the difference in the width of the channel, particularly at the back, is it any wider or is it the same?
Quick question. My horse is flat backed, no withers, but the red gullet in a standard Wintec fits her. The problem is, her back is really short and the panels in a standard AP and/or dressage Wintec are too long in a 17,5"/18" saddle that would be comfortable to ride in for myself. Should I even be considering the Wide version of the Wintec saddles? I can't really find any info on the length of the panels in either version.
@borowkicztery. I was just wondering if you were able to find the answer to your question. Today, I just had someone who sells wintec over to fit my horse. My horse has a red gullet size too in the standard wintec BUT, she is short backed and my seat is the same as yours, 17.5. Please let me know if you found the answer to your question. I didn't buy the saddle that seemed to fit, yet. I wanted to make sure. I don't need to buy another saddle that nearly fits. Thanks.
@@AngelaMarie588 Hello. I have this issue too and would like to know if you found the answer to the question. I had someone come out from wintec and didn't commit to buying the saddle yet, but my mare's in a red gullet and she has a short back too😞. Either way, I hope you found the answer and that it is working for you.
great video. i would love a video on the differences in the bates saddle to the wintecs as they are a lot more expensive to just be a leather version. i have a bates advanta saddle so would love to know thank you xx
Fabulous idea - The Arena saddle is a more 'simple' leather version, and therefore priced accordingly. The Bates Saddles have lots of extra bits. In fact, I've got one about the Bates Advanta jump saddle coming soon which shows the moveable knee and thigh blocks, and stirrup bars etc
They are the same gullet size but not exactly the same shape, the 1 xw made for wide is more a U shape than the standard V shape. I believe Arena saddles have exactly the same trees as bates and wintec, and same HART system.
Saddlery Brands International (SBI) own Wintec, Arena and Bates. And they all have the HART and CAIR system in the new versions. The gullet bar is the same, but I think they want to encourage people to use the correct bars in the WIDE version, so made them all purple, to help ensure the correct ones were used :) Hope that helps. x

Oh it's a lot wider. I've owned both and can fit my whole hand spread out in the channel on the wide. though mine was older so take that with a grain of salt.
Thank you so much! This was by far the most informative video I could find about these saddles!

This is the best breakdown of the benefits of a wintec wide that I have seen.

I have this same exact issue.

With me having possibly NO saddle fitters around me, which saddle would you prefer for a QH mare? I’m thinking the Ap
It could go either way.
So, Arena are owned by Bates. Same trees? And why is the white gullet the same size as 1xw light pink

How about letting the gal from Wintec talk? lol. She IS the representative after all.
Please need your professional opinion about a saddle, Wich factory closed in Greece.: BEAUTY.thanks for everything.
