Atilla? I’m struggling to make the connection between ECB and Atilla tbh, I do agree with what you’re saying about sometimes great things coming from silly ideas.
I mean , they toured germany 2 years ago with Atilla and The Browning as supporting acts. So there is at least some kind of personal connection between those bands. ECB featured Atillas frontman in the Song The Scene aswell. To me personally it seems more like Atilla is taking themselves too seriously ( sometimes). Maybe its an missenterpretation /missunderstanding but I doubt.
Best part about Eskimo Callboy is that they are not trying to go super serious and talk about deep sh*t in their songs, at least at the moment. In the behind the scenes they said the song came into being because Germany had a terrible summer and with covid still running rampant disrupting traveling, it was obvious that no one really enjoyed it. They made the song so listeners can cheer up despite the fact. I think Hypa Hypa was created for similar purposes, to let people wake up to some wacky fun catchy tracks amidst the rather depressing covid lockdown. The band is so precious because they know what they want to make, and they deliver with quality. Also great reaction Tank! This is the first time I've watched your videos and I'm absolutely blown away by the passion and relevant knowledge you share in the reaction, on top of vibing with the track too. You got a new sub! XD
What I love about them above other "comical" bands is that they actually have so much talent in the different sides they put into the songs AND they don't "play it safe" and then just employ comedy with lyrics and funny music video. At the end you're left with an absolute banger of a song, even if it's first listens is "wtf how does these genres work?!" or the funny music video. The metal breakdown at the end with the black-metal-esque growls in there is insaaaanely good even if it comes from out of nowhere - and it all transitions from one thing with such perfect manner it's hard to even put a finger on WHY it works so well. This song is like a full scale of a summer time memory party with a little bit of everything.
For me it feels like with Sushi the "darker" side of the band left. But this side is still alive in ghostkid.(I don't even bother to find the Ø on my keyboard). Now we can listen to both sides of Eskimo Callboy. Win win.

I love how Eskimo Callboy and WBTBWB can both put a smile on my face and this song just made me want to dance the entire time 😂 Since I've been learning German I found myself listening to a lot of Rammstein, Eskimo Callboy, WBTBWB, and a ton of other german bands/artists. I am so glad that my girlfriend got up at 6 in the morning in Germany and sent me the link to the music video before I got up the day after the song was released she made me so proud and I am so glad that I got her into their music😂🤘

Love Electric Callboy !! Saw them a few month in Paris (L'Olympia), in an actual a theater. We were watching from the balcony. For some songs liky "Hypa Hypa" and "We Got the moves", the whole balcony was shaking ^^

Having been to their concert in the Melkweg (Amsterdam), I can tell you Tank.. yes, people pretty much do the pidgeon for this song. Looking forward to March 2023 when they come back to NL. Tickets have been bought.

If you're involved in the next US tour please ask the band for two things: - Bring the opening acts out for We Got the Moves like they did in NY at the Palladium. That was awesome and seemed to amp up the energy even more. - And please add a Texas stop to the tour! I'll bring Whataburger for the whole band and crew if that's what it takes. Thanks!

Eskimo Call Boy is edging into the same space that exists for me in metal that Metalocalypse/Dethklok, Austrian Death Machine, Steel Panther (to a degree) exist in, really well made music that you can't take seriously but is so fun.

Germany has a long tradition of humorous bands, way back to Erste Allgemeine Verunsicherung, Geier Sturzflug, J. B. O. and many, many more. 😉
