They definitely aren't fast, I also have a VFR800 that feels like a rocket compared to this lol I raised the needles 1 notch in the carbs and that made a bit of a difference. They are comfortable and fun bikes.
@@tanddy I’m hoping to get a little more out of her after a little tlc. Not expecting too much but maybe a little more grunt uphill. Such a sweet little bike tho and I smile while riding her.
@@richieiommi same, I'm waiting on a full carb rebuild kit, that and a service should hopefully get me a bit more power . . . . . Fingers crossed. The bike puts a smile on my face every time I ride her as well, who knew you could have so much fun at legal speeds 🤣
@@richieiommi I've now got coils on my list, thanks. There is just one screw to adjust to sync the carbs, its an easy job, just remember to do it when the engine is warm and you may need to turn the idle up a bit.
Clutch cable and brake line are now longer by about 10cm. no wiring needed extended as I just rerouted it so it was a bit more free. I could do with longer throttle cables but they are ok as long as I'm not on full right lock then they get a bit tight.
In which country are you? Because i would love to have such ape hangers. In germany its nearly impossible to have such big ape hangers with certificate for the virago unless you pay many hundreds of euros for verification papers and stuff like that

@@andreimarianiov3375 all the wiring was fine, some just needed rerouted a bit. I have put a longer brake hose and clutch cable on, the throttle cables are ok but i would like them a few inches longer.
Got me one a week ago. Bit sluggish but my usual ride is an R1. Really love the riding position and sound of the virago

@@tanddy I've got a carb kit coming too.😂 Also a cheap vacuum gauge set that I need to learn how to use and a new coil set. Fingers crossed. 🤞🤞🤞
