    Thank you for the amazing video.. I just bought a motorcycle like this today, and I can hardly wait for the morning to come. Rain or shine, I will definitely ride the bike :) It's exactly the same feeling as when I got my first bicycle as a child.. I'm just 53 years old :)

      May I ask you, How was your season ? do you like the motorcycle ?

  • @EdGeLV

    People talk about the size or the motor, but forget to mention that it has really good weight to power ratio, which makes it a better performance bike than the slightly more expensive "successor" XVS650

    • @Darkvisor
      @Darkvisor  2 года назад +12

      Good point sir... A bike can have a big motor but that means little when it comes to the power to weight ratio etc...
      Thanks for watching

      @j.ramone4116 2 года назад +5

      Definitely. I've had the 1100 and that was slow. Great fun and a torque monster. But slow top speed. The 650 must be very slow. I'm thinking of getting a 535.as a cheap lil bike, that could still go anywhere.

    • @paulusher3560

      I went 500 miles in one hit to Inverness Scotland and toured there fully loaded. Very comfy and plenty powerful enough even up those steep mountains roads. Very capable bike.

    • @wimtimmerman6730
      @wimtimmerman6730 Год назад +4

      Its predecessor, the XV 500, is even better in that respect, with 49 horses and 181 kilos dry weight. I own one, and will never get rid of it. A sporty little cruiser that is really fun. The 535 is less powerful, and the 650, unfortunately, even less than the 535. Not all changes are for the better.

    Fell in love with this bike since my father got one in 2002. Sadly I didn't managed to get the corner, so we had to sell it to someone who had more possibilities to get it back to driving. After searching for a replacement we couldn't find anything as close, also because of my height (175cm) and short legs.
    All in all, got a nice 535 with a nice color way, sport exhaust with big bangs and 10000km only.
    This bike is easy to handle, but watch out for corners, don't go in too quickly (underestimated the curve).
    43 Hp is also enough to overtake some street turtles, even on the highway.
    My record is 172 km/h, wind got my back back then.
    If your looking for a relatively cheap and reliable bike, this bike might be something for you. Just get an oil exchange from time to time (I did it annually) so the 535 can pay you back for some years and thousand kilometers. The old one had around 39.000 km when I crashed it, the engine growled as on the first date.
    Excuse my english, had not wrote a text since graduation in 2019.

    You know what's funny? I'm from the extreme southern part of Brazil and I see Virago owners from all over the world in this comments. No doubt a cheap and trustworthy motorcycle, at least for beginners.
    It's my first motorbike. I'm learning to ride on her. Really easy!
    Hope soon I can get my - license and - hands in a nice exhaust like yours!
    Keep rocking dude!

Did not know much of his bike until I saw this video is a great looking bike and happened to call teh local salvage and they have one that needs the carb cleaned up. All in all for $500. Im heading there this evening to see the body condition and everything in between. I looks like a very smooth rider. Love it. Thank you for the info on this bike. From Fulshear, Texas here.

    I wouldn't say that 500cc is small (seeing that 90cc bikes exist) but i guess it looks small next to the average greasy 1800cc bikes out there, anyway, i have been curious about those for a while, since they do sell a lot where i live.
    Cool review as always.

    • @Darkvisor
      @Darkvisor  2 года назад

      for sweden 500cc is kinda small. most bikes being sold here are usually 600+cc hehe
      but the thing about this bike wasn't the engine size but the general size of the bike. It's so much smaller than other bikes in general.
      thanks for watching bro

    • @Motocicleiros
      @Motocicleiros 2 года назад

      Not small. At most a medium sized bike. Smalls are bikes up to 250cc. I have one of these and it's a great motorcycle. But indeed you pilot it as it was a small one LoL.

    I really love this bike... My previous bike was his little sister, the virago 250... And the only reason for me change was the cruise speed, I mean not the top speed, the comfortable highway speed.
    Is a motorbike that doesn't want to go at high speeds, just going everywhere with a smile on your face 😁...
    The only thing... I'm worried to have my first mechanical issue due to the age and kilometres (23 years and 61.000 km)... But still going amazing.

I have an 1100 and still use it even though my favourite cruiser is my Yamaha Warrior 1700 Custom. My Harleys honestly just gather dust. It was a bug on the camera lens.... that's why you didn't see the speed ;)
      I ALWAYS ride within the legal limits 😇;)
      I didn't want to ride it too fast though, it started to shake and stuff so I didn't want to push it too hard. I heard a rumor of a guy who rode the same bike as the bike in this video and he rode the same road and came up to 75 mph before he let go off the throttle. I'm sure 85-90 might be possible, if one would dare hehe

    Somehow, I like this XV535 Virago even though its earlier, than the similar but different V-Star 650.
    I wish I could say why but not sure.
    I did test ride a V-Star 650 a 2008 and it was a super ride, much more maneuverable vs its larger brother a 1200 or 1300 which turned like an Ocean Liner !

      This bike is fully A2 license compliant. So no restrictions are needed, just hop on and ride off as a A2 rider.
      It's kinda small though so if you're a tall person you might want something else.
      As a previous owner of a Honda Shadow 750 (which also is A2) I can also recommend that bike for you, it's a big larger. I have a video of my old one on my channel. =)

      @@Darkvisor Thank you man, I'm 187cm so it might be a little small, so I'll have to test drive one before buying. The 750 might be out of my budget as they are not as common here but I will look into them too. Can't believe a 750cc can be registered as A2 but it makes sense as they are low power and high torque V2s.

    • @Darkvisor
      @Darkvisor  Год назад

      @@gr_nic Like you say, it's all about the output power not the actual cc...
      a harley has 1450cc but only 46 kw which isn't that much really. 1450 sounds much but really isn't when it comes to power/weight ratio etc.
      meanwhile a 1000cc bike that weighs 200 kg can have 122 kw and punch out 160 hp
      (a harley only has 63 hp)
      When I got my old shadow I thought it was an A bike but was surprised when I found out it was "just" an A2 bike =P
      besides the honda shadow (which also comes in 600 cc btw)
      you could look into:
      kawasaki vulcan
      yamaha 650 drag star
      you could get more bikes if you restrict them down to 35 kw and later when you get A you can just remove the restrictor. =)
      Then the list gets much larger of bikes you can get.
