    Thanks for coming up with a solution to omit the cold shoulder. BTW I love the jeans you're wearing with your green long sleeve tee

    I’ve been sewing quilts lately but your review of this book and the patterns had me buying the book. This tee plus your jacket with the boucle fabric was what did it for me! I’ve got 3 pieces of boucle fabric and matching linings destined to be one of those jackets because let’s face it....I’m never going to make me a Chanel look jacket!

      Oh good! I also have grand ambitions to do a Chanel style jacket. However, I have yet to do that 😂.

    Are the jeans you are wearing the McCalls sew a long jeans? They look so nice on you. Love what you did to the cold shoulder T. I have never been a fan of that look. Great idea!

    Good morning, Whitney! The shirts fit you well, and though not a cold shoulder fan, you look great in the grey one!! I've also given your link to my husband to pre-order the book for Christmas - thanks!

    What a great idea! You could always use the cold shoulder tee for working out at home. Nice sneak peak at your new jeans! Love the green tee, the pattern style suits you so well.

    I'm going to plead for this book for Christmas even though I just got the Tilly and the Buttons latest book. I love simple pieces as what I call a modified hippie. I don't do frills , ruffles or anything over the top girly. I think these patterns are perfect for me since I can have a basic with a twist which is so my style. THRILLED!!!

    Great shape t shirt and your jeans look fabulous on you... on another subject your hair looks so much better with the fringe longer ( bangs for you US ladies) as a hairstylist of many year I notice these thing just as you would notice my wonky hems...🤣🤣🤣🤣

    You did what I had been wondering about. That was if the sleeve from the other top/dress pattern would fit. And hurray it does. Not a cold shoulder fan either, esp. not heading into the colder darker time of the year. Thank you! 💕

      It will fit if the adjustment is made to the shoulder!

    So, I normally make a half inch narrow shoulder adjustment. Would I still need to add a half inch? I’m not crazy about cold shoulder shirts, so this is a fantastic option.

    • @TomKatStitchery

      You might be able to get away without doing anything of you beed the narrow shoulder!

    Morning Whitney, what a good fit. I am not into the cold shoulder look so that’s good to know how you achieved the regular shoulder. What a great fit, they both look fabulous with those jeans. I have to ask, are they the jeans from your Sunday sew along? What a great fit and you look very tall just gorgeous. Have a great day. Val❤️🇨🇦🇬🇧

    Thank you Whitney for your videos on this book. I am going to order not sure of hard copy or not. Can you tell if the on line version prints layers and in print form are alll the lines close together to trace. thank you

    • @TomKatStitchery
      @TomKatStitchery  4 года назад

      The pdf patterns do have the layer feature (and come both in print at home and copy shop formats). I haven’t seen the physical book yet, but I believe the patterns are layered over one another so they have to be traced.

    Did you discuss having your colours done in a past video? If so, I must’ve missed it. I hope you or another viewer can point me to it! Thanks.

    • @TomKatStitchery
      @TomKatStitchery  4 года назад

      I had them done back in January. I talked about the process in this video: ruclips.net/video/T5vbDyt-LgE/видео.html it was a game changer for me!

      Thank you!! This is too funny. Turns out that Christie Ressel is based in my region (Toronto), yet I learned about her from a Hoosier. Like you, I had my colours done back during the Color Me Beautiful craze, and then had them tweaked by a colour consultant in Florida shortly afterward. Now that I’m older and greyer, those colours just aren’t working for me any more. Your experience and enthusiasm are inspiring me to indulge in an update.

    Like you, I have not been a fan of the "cold shoulder", especially since I have gotten older-and have shoulder issues -cold shoulder's I do not need!! LOL!! However, I love the finishes on this top, and the gray actually looks fabulous on you-you could always add some color with a scarf or necklace, etc...
    And the green long sleeved top-that color is drop dead gorgeous-a color I wholeheartedly embrace!! Lovely!
    Very enjoyable reviews! :+)

    I like that the cold shoulder is wide enough that you can wear a bra. Bc that’s what I tend not to like about them.

    • @TomKatStitchery
      @TomKatStitchery  4 года назад +1

      Definitely. I ALWAYS wear a real bra so bra strap coverage is important!
