  • Desi Bande, let's get adventurous!
While exploring the remotest corner of the Rann of Kutchh, I ventured into a village where a Koli community lives.
They're one of many scheduled tribes that can be found in the biggest district of India, and I was the FRIST FOREIGNER EVER to visit this specific village (you can see it from the way people looked at me during the video).
It's been such a culturally immersive experience, and I found their homes and lifestyle to be so fascinating and unique.
Have you ever heard of this community?

I'm originally from Saurashtra and Koli people are there as well. I doubt if there are any documented record on them but much of golden era Gujarati literature have their mentions. One of my relative, which I used to visit during summer vacations during my childhood, used to have Koli family as their neighbours. They usually live in joint family/community. The house I remember growing up had around 4-5 full families living in the same house. They were considered untouchables in old era and they usually habitated outskirts. Things have changed a lot now though. Koli folks I knew, were very friendly with everyone in village and they mingled well in community, helped out when needed etc. We even played cricket together.

As an Indian, I saw this kind of indian village house for the first time. These designed houses are reminiscent of an African village. The shape of the house is like that of an African village. Only different is that they have electricity and house are painted. The house looks beautiful 😊

In maximum states below north India even in Many north Indian states you will see in villages people dont speak hindi and even don't understand .. they know local language
but gujarat. is the place where Gujarati is given first priority
but still people of rural and urban areas can speak and understand hindi easily
    gujarat is unique ❤

that's the beauty of north ............tha every region has it's own language.................but we have learned .........one common language to communicate in whole north...... .i am from ayodhya tha native language is AWADHI here .....but everyone speaks hindi also .unlike thozz silly people of south ..........who are just limiting themselves and don't try to learn new things

    just see their talent
Its looking different from outside but from inside its absolute good and their talent
just see how Gujarat government will make this village an tourism place soon
Gujarat is trying their level best to stop urbanizing villages and make that rural place and attraction
so no damage to nature and people there earn money
Thats What Gujarat model is 😅

    • @YourFellowForeigner
      @YourFellowForeigner  8 месяцев назад +4

Thank you! And double thanks for noticing the issue with video quality. I thought everything went smoothly during the upload, but there must have been an issue with rendering the video.
On top of that, some clips were damaged while filming, because it was way too hot and my GoPro started turning off automatically.
Thanks again for writing it down here. It's too late to change now, hopefully the video itself will be interesting enough to be watched anyway 🙏🏽😅
