I love how RecoN goes for the counter at 18:26 but stumbles upon StriKeR getting mauled by Beasty and immediately retreats while saying "lol". That's great content right there!
Seeing this now, I was rooting for State so much. It took the combined efforts of 3 people with multiple assaults to take his wonder down… that’s a good hill to die on sir.

Normaly a 90 min game is too long for me to watch fully,so I skip throught some parts,checking out the highlights of players getting sniped,but not this game,this was a treat start to finish. You need 1 hour 15 minutes of pure luck and favorable conditions in a rare 8-player Octagon, an impossibly large mass, and enemy making almost no Springald / Culverin (!?) for the Ottoman Bombard to be minimally useful LOL. This unusual match shows AoE4 could actually be a very fun game, if only cool unique units like Ottoman Bombard and Delhi Elephants were more generally useful, and not a supreme meme and joke
this is the mass mangonel vs springald dilema again, at some point you can just tank 1 or 2 bombards to allow your great bombards to get in range (only 1 less range than culverin) and wipe the floor with their aoe. or put the bombards further behind so that they can still hit melle units but give you more time to react vs culverins

@Alperen Elbasan lolz that's a kinda cool idea! It'd be cool if you could spawn a few for a certain amount of resources that are neutral to you but aggressive to enemies but you can't control them. Ha! Can you imagine the shenanigans that could cause 😂

Great to discover this channel and watch these incredible games. State made a terrible mistake going for that early wonder. He didnt stand a chance. I didnt like Beasty's style of play. He is too defensive. Puppypaw was the most entertaining player in the match
I think the final 8 will get a reset, but I think the reason for no reset was to give people a reason to try in week 4 although the same prob emerges for the semi’s so 😅
Nah State had great timing. He got the Wonder all the way to 2 minutes. If the other 3 had slightly poor coordination or didn't commit as much, he could've gotten it. If he'd managed to go kill Recon, he would've won it tbh.
watching them 3v1 state and push at different times really hurt to watch lol obviously i have full pov but why not just say everyone push in 3..2..1 because one would push then die then another would push and die lol however i am very new to aoe so i cant talk, overall very entertaining game im actually rooting for state now because of this good 3v1 attempt and the 2v1 he did in an earlier game

These bombards needs a Nerf. If they have critical Mass, and they get to that easily, they are indestructibel. I am on Delhi, I lost every Game against Ottoman as soon they got to their bombard. No elephant mass, No springalds, No 3 keeps on sacred Sites are able to Stop them. It is stupid.way more stupid than french knight in second age, that's a Walk in the park, compaired. Can someone Tell me how the heck? Half Population springalds in 4 groups over the map to come from each direction?
Great Bombards cost like 1400 res apiece. If your opponent has a huge big mass of bombards, he is just toying with you. He could've killed you in many other ways using his economic advantage. And usually if he commits less than 3-4 Bombards (i.e. 5500 resources) to a fight you can just snipe bombards with 4-5 Springnalds or flank with horsemen.
mass cav and get springald upgrades and then split them into small spread out stacks so that the bombards can't AOE them all. same problem with critical mass mangos, you need to keep your springalds fanned out so that only one gets targeted at a time 20 springalds in line formation would easily take out those bombards because they have more range and higher rate of fire. you can't half ass it, you need to spam springalds and horses but split them into smaller groups and try to flank/get behind if you mass anything in one big ball you're gonna have a problem but the AOE is nerfed by keeping your units separated and mobile in smaller groups
The finale was a total joke. It was obvious that puppy and wam will team. I cannot believe they allowed this. No more FFA games for me and many others I can assume. I was there in twitch chat and it was obvious to everyone. I believe they need to banned from participating in FFA's togheter
I called state and salami to be final two at the start. State threw basically. Salami was final two. Spawns are just too much an advantage. I say it again... for skill game the random spawns is too much luck added to game. Please spread out the spawns evenly so it's a fair start. Especially for finals when so close to cash. To get a crap spawn would suck so bad. Sure you can get lucky and win a 1v1 to get a corner to yourself like beasty did but totally sucks for striker. Anyways, just my opinion.

Keeps the tension going. Stops people from maybe putting less effort in in the groups once they know they're safe.
And Drongo says early on in the video that the final 8 will have a clean slate for the scores.
