Im not being a hater here, I really enjoyed watching CT and I loved every second of it, but as Angus here said, key word is "was"... Especially when you invest your time in watching it for a while (like majority of us did) and see in front of your nose when thing starts to fall out... But as they say, one door closes, few new ones open, and im glad it happened like that.
If you want to do a fast engine swap on a bmw... just unbolt the whole front suspension as a one piece (struts, brake line, 4 bolts for the front support bar, fuel lines, throttle cable and radiator pipes) with the engine and gearbox (all supported by jackstands) and then raise up the car... you had to disconnect the brakes anyway because you were changing calipers... :) this is much easier and cleaner approach - no need to even take out the radiator and no fiddling with the crane, then swap the engines on the floor (again no need to disconnect the gearbox from the engine) and lower the car again, bolt on the front support and struts... :)

@@MrPrajitura I disagree with it being crap, we don't even know if the problem is caused by the ECU or it was something else. Car was tuned by Bruno from BDS who knows his way around those engines quite well, so the issues were probably caused by some other old components failing, seeing as it's a pretty old car

In the future, you could do a video about the best E46 power upgrades, Taylor with a V8, Alex S54 M3 and Rory m54 supercharger. Might be an interesting comparison.

LOL, having done this swap myself the challenges experienced were no surprise to me! One good thing about this is that most of this work sets you up very nicely for an M54 swap. And frankly the M52 doesn't hold a candle to the M54 in this chassis
ive said it before and ill say it again, i love the e28, had a 520i back in the 80's loved it. Rory's looks like its a north east car by the reg. mucha as i love it, ill bet you will have electrical issues on the road trip.

Great tip with an empty engine hoist. Just lift and hold the arm for a few seconds and it will stay up. Saves a bunch of pumping ;)
