@farmfreshideas579 absolutely! I do exactly that all the time. You will need an analog to hdmi converter as well, I have links in the video description
Recording without a computer can also be achieved cheaply by using a UVC(USB video class, so works with Android etc without driver software) compliant USB capture device(whether HDMI or analog, though analog UVC capture devices usually seem very cheap/basic), and a phone or tablet with USB on the go. I wouldn't imagine the quality of either method would be quite up to the standard of the best digitization methods though(with a TBC, S-VHS deck, etc), though obviously more convenient and freeing up the use/space of a computer.
Would be nice if it had a mixer, where you mix 2x HDMI sources, Like if you have 2 camera's running, one on you and on the item at hand slide the lever over stop swap from 2 input sources.
That would be awesome but it's just a recorder. What it does, it does well! You could benefit from a video mixer. Those are expensive. I'll be reviewing an HDMI selector soon that has pucture in picture capability, that could be a cheaper solution for what you need
@@whiplite I'm looking for a way to record my digital night vision camera's feed onto a device, without using an app on the phone. It has no HDMI or AV out, just WIFI.
You can see. There is an hdmi output so you can connect it to a monitor or TV. The files it makes are standard mp4 files so they are super easy to edit after
@MISSY4EVR I guess it would depend on the equipment you already have. Converting to DVD either requires a DVD recorder, or a computer with a DVD recorder and a device that covers your old videos to usb so the computer can copy it. DVD is also limited to 480p where this setup will upscale the video a bit. USB stick are cheap and can hold many many hours of old videos. If you have a LOT of old videos, and you get someone to convert the old movies for you, it may cost more than this option.
@@whiplite that is a good point. I saw someone uploaded them to you tube as well. I’m going to do more research. Thank you for the information I appreciate it.

@@whiplite Interesting. Not sure why it appears to me to have a slightly lower fps. Even at 48 (24) I wouldn't think that I would be able to perceive the change in frame rate.
