I've been teaching for 40+ years. I honestly don't remember where I heard this song first. I just remember it was in a Teachers Music Workshop and found it so much fun and have been doing it in my music classroom since then. To this day a classroom favorite.
Thanks Ms. Virginia. For the 20+ years I was a teacher in school, I always started out with movement songs in the morning. It got kids ready for learning. Many of the songs were exactly the ones I had learned from Ms. Virginia when I was a kid including this one. I even added another verse to it. Burger King, Chucky Cheese, and Wendy's. I would show you the moves, but I think you can get creative here. For some reason, some of my supervisors hated me doing this and thought it was for younger kids. It involved reading lyrics, learning known words, building fluency with reading and a bunch of other stuff. The truth is I think the staff and I sometimes enjoyed it more than the kids.
Thanks so much Casey! Your words make me cry! Believe it or not at a training just two weeks ago, I was asked to do a song to get everyone up in moving and of course I had them do ‘pizza hut’! It was wonderful to see a room full of adults smiling laughing and moving! Thanks for making my day! ❤️❤️❤️
good looks ms virginia, i had forgotten how much this song had meant to me at such a tender time in my youth. i want to thank you for allowing me to be vulnerable and revisit that very classroom where Mr Jago had sang this. you gave me much more than a song. you gave me a memory.
Sorry about that! It's a fun song that gets children and adults up and moving. I've also done this at teacher training to get the blood flowing mid-way through the training! I heard today is Star Wars Day, and I have done a Star Wars version and a healthier version of this song on my channel! Thanks for the comment and watching my video.
While combining fast food and children's songs seems like a somewhat odd idea, this song is one of my very favorites. By the way, I also like the song "Fast Food" from "Kidsongs: Ride The Roller Coaster."
LOL, this song does not promote good eating habits however it is great to get children up and moving! However... most important in this song is the "environmental print' which is important part of children's literacy development Environmental print is on restaurant signs, store signs, food packages and logos all around us. Learning to read environmental print is a critical pre-literacy skill and necessary aspect of learning to read and write. It marks the beginning of recognizing words and the letters in them. When your child recognizes a word printed somewhere, ask if they recognize the letters in the word. Through incidental learning, young children learn to read environmental print, which is an important stage in their literacy development. So if you have young children, check out my other 'pizza hut video on my channel ruclips.net/video/RI7Td5eztc/видео.html (my healthier version too) which includes many 'environmental print' activities to do in the classroom, home or when out driving in the car.

@@CherryS1994 They could very well have had a hand in it, lol. @Ms Virginia You're welcome 😊. Yes, Luke Skywalker had the Lightsaber. Darth Vader, you cupped your hands around your mouth for the mask part. Then, for Jabba, I think we made wide motions to make a big belly. 😀

I danced this song almost a decade ago with the people that i can't remember anymore 😭 I totally forgot about this song until i went to the place where we last sang this oneee 🥹
I have never heard of Fast Food Rockers, I just listened to their version of the song. Very cool and fun. It’s funny most comments from listeners of this song on my channel mention it brings back memories of their teachers singing it with them in their classrooms. Most were under the impression their teacher made it up. I learned this song at an early childhood teachers' music workshop about 20 to 30 years ago! Not sure who was the first to sing it. If I ever find out, I will give them credit as all my classroom kids love the song from age 1 through schoolage. I have even had adults do it in training sessions to get them up and to move and laugh, especially as we do it in the fastest mode. I think I may have come up with to do it ‘faster and faster’ version of the song. I can't always remember that many years ago! Regardless, a fun song, and thanks for your comment and for listening to my version.
