It's not the 40m line. Its called the 10m line as it is 10m from the half way. Not all pitches are exactly the same size in rugby. Not always will that line be 40m from the try line. But it will always be 10m from the half way line due to kick offs having to go 10m. USA players and commentators still have a longggg way to go

They said the same thing about the 1994 FIFA Futbol (Soccer) World Cup here in the US, and almost every match (if not every match) from group stages to the Final was sold out. I expect the powers that be in the rugby world to PROMOTE the living hell out of the Rugby World Cup here in the US and the same to happen here in 2031 as did with the Futbol World Cup in 1994. You have to look at it this way, when the All Blacks played the Eagles in Chicago several years back, the place was packed and people went nuts for the match. That's a huge draw, as will most World Cup matches will be. Not too many casual rugby observers are going to travel distances for the Eagles and the Oaks (no offense to either team) as they are not "Top Tier" rugby teams. If they were in my city, sure I'd go, but I'm not driving or flying over 500 miles to see them. I would drive or fly over 500 miles if the ABs and the Bokke had a match here in the US, that's the difference. We'll be fine, Cheers!

This was a game for the taking. McGinty was not good and Ausberger made a boneheaded move by not taking a mark, trying to run out of the 22 and a penalty and points going to Romania as a result. A mark, tap to McGinty and into touch would have relieved pressure.

We should not be hosting world cup, we can't beat Romania , hats off to Romania by the way but USA rugby can't put together a team good enough to host world. Cup ..we are doomed ...😂😂😂

just everything wrong with rugby is evident in the way the Eagles play. We r running with 3 to 4 man pods and running simple over unders like its 2011. Im sick of watching such potential in the US go to waste through corruption, politics, and egos in USA rugby. We can send billions overseas each year but cant properly fund a national team in a sport that we should relate to way more as a country. As for Romania they play hard and structured and their structure was executed far better than the US but they are just lacking in athletes and funding and population sadly they will never ascend to the six nations like their big brothers georgia

I begg to differ the usa u20 rugby team they are young and up and coming future Eagles and same are playing in the MLR even though they lost the u20 grand final to Scotland that usa u20 team is doing very good very good to the point they are playing better then the eagles senior team there decision making is good the backs on offence or attack there running lines is good there kicking punting and kicking in general is good there line outs can match up with the likes of tier 1 nations very good scrums and rolling maul are very stable watching them through the u20 tournament that is the best usa team of seen
there playing a southern hemisphere style of play really quick ball multi phase ball play at speed there running lines cutting through defence its top notch there ball handling is spot on hats off to the coaching staff and the programme there under
in the Scotland game there was two aspects in there game where they were losing
that was the scrum and the defensive maul everything else was good if they the us team had stabilise
there scrum and defence on the rolling maul against Scotland and match them there they would have beaten them
the us backs were good on defence and attack they were matching the Scottish backs the usa forwards
were losing in the scrums and defensive rolling mauls getting out muscle there the Scots had a bigger back
but the us team they were good in the line outs over all this us team is good there playing actual good rugby
these young players are the future of the eagles rugby in the United States of America

The tournament at large will be great. Stadia in the US are all world class. We are a huge country with much to see and do.
Will the US be competitive? A quarter final is highly unlikely, perhaps a third place pool position.
With regards to transparent commercialism, isn’t there a 12 team tournament being looked at in Quatar, that hotbed of rugby?
With regards to player development, show me a top northern hemisphere team that doesn’t rely on drafting from NZ, SA, and the Island nations
I dont think a World Cup being hosted in the US is the biggest of issues World Rugby faces.

If MLR keeps growing they can follow Japan's model and get foreign players to play for them. They are at the bottom of their growth. Only way is up. MLR grow I'm sure they would pay more than than any league in the world. They just need the interest.
