This kid knocks me out. I think I play at about a 1200 to 1300 level, but when I watch great chess, I know what's going on, even though I can't do it in my own games. Amazing stuff. Great chess players are a wonder to watch.

It is because of the distraction of hitting the clock that can make someone forget what their plan was 5 moves ago... it happens to the best of players... human error
It pained me to see him miss the winning route, but still damn fine play all the same. Could have gone wrong any number of ways, but he at least managed a draw.

Ntboo Okechuku being a kid actually doesn’t matter in chess. An adult who’s only had one years of experience compared to a kid with 2 would lose without a doubt. That’s why when you see kids beating adults it’s not uncommon. This kid definitely has had a decent amount of time on chess. But yes it’s still amazing in its own way

Black had gotten an opportunity at that time. How come it becomes a draw match when you have got a queen, and above it; a great chance such as that one. What he should have done was tending to eat the White's remaining pawns on the left, and clearing the way out for his pieces.

@@sunilsharma6880 I KNOW IM A YEAR LATE, but I can explain why. So if you take on h4, you can freeze the pawn structure with f5, gxf5, gxf5. After that you have a past pawn and your queen can escort it down the board, sac the queen for the rook, then make a new queen and be up a queen

At 3:33 he should have first move the rook to get beside the opponents rook.. And then whatever the next move'll be.. Black will have either the rook or queen.. As there'll be 2 possibilities. (and white will neither have the rook or queen.) however good game by the kid 👏🏻.

I've played Golan before. He is a very solid and consistent player. I lost as black in the Lowenthal sicilian.
