  • In this from lesson form 1st John, Pastor Chuck Smith explains the concept of "the beginning" from Genesis and here in John’s first of the writings, emphasizing the eternal nature of God the Father and of Jesus Christ (thus also including the Holy Spirit). Pastor Chuck explores the idea of the Word existing from the beginning pointing to Jesus Christ's eternal nature. Pastor Chuck highlights the significance of God entering into the world in Jesus. Pastor Chuck stresses the importance of fellowship with God, with one another, and walking in the light for joy, freedom from sin, and assurance of our salvation; stressing the importance of leading a truthful life and acknowledging sins for God’s forgiveness and purification through the blood of Jesus Christ.

While I agree with Chuck and believe that he is correct, that in the flesh, we cannot be perfect. I also believe once we've received the holy. We are to walk in that spirit and in that spirit we can be, and should be, perfect without sin.
What did Jesus say to the adultererous "go and sin no more"
I believe the "Church" will be the Christians that have received the Holy Spirit (Born-again Christians) and live in the Spirit, the others, the Christians that thought they were following Jesus, but had never fully repented of sin, will find salvation, but only as if by fire, in the tribulation.

    Way too many commercials, guys.
It really interrupts the flow of the message.
    Fantastic sermon, though.
