Just reading I never would have picked up on the beauty of those verses. I'm thankful for you Pastor Guzik and the way you point all these things out. A 30 minute sermon on 3 verses must be difficult but you make it look easy.

JESUS CHRIST IS GOD
I've been alone all my life. I need this. I may have bias, but "from the beginning" suggests מערה to me. From is the prefix מ. The "most distant" is "arch"aic/ערה beginning. A multi-portioned journey of several legs has several beginnings. I recall mark (מערה) as it appears in TANAKH three times; twice as a compound word. Only once in its simple form in Solomon's passage on "The Way of Life." The word mark appears in context with "young men." There was another form--I think it was מערכהי? This word refers to similar concepts in history. We ought to be able to relate to the marchlands, the home of the March hare. Marchlands were the border lands of England or France. In France, the ruler of a march land territory was a Marquis.
Another use of "mark" in its morphology is as scene one or chapter one. It appears as an introduction to the work. Shakespeare might have a narrator come onto stage to pronounce the setting of time, place, and characters. Later, in my early days, there might have been a marquee before the theater to serve this function.
John Baptist is the marquee of the gospel of Mark. He appears at the border of Israel. In baptism, John brings us into the Kingdom of God. He brings us across the River Jordan. The introduction to the good news in Mark refers to a different prophecy than that of Matthew. John Baptist is building a road. He begins by cutting down trees. Our God has called us: he draws us with cords of love. If your heart answers, "Thy face, O Lord, I will seek," you are asked to profess your decision. We show this with the act of baptism and public testimony. To be clear, you are asked to invite the Spirit of Jesus Christ to enter your heart, just as Pastor Guzik so beautifully explains. The Wesley Brothers also spoke of a burning in your heart. I am asking the Lord to renew his work in me. Even after 75 years of illness, I still believe in Jesus and all of his benefits. I pray he will use me. And I pray he will use Pastor Guzik to lead me into a more useful life in the kingdom. May you all be equally blessed as your circle of love expands from self-interest to that of fathers and children (Malachi 4 .6.) Eli-Jah, priest of God. Mark=preparation of the heart. May he pull out my weeds and cut down any trees that have grown up in the road way.
Jacob uses this word to describe his first begotten son. ברושית . Reuben was his beginning, But there is a sound in the middle of this word. רוש is the "face" in Portuguese, the blush of the cheeks "rose," the color of tthe sky at the beginning of day. ברושית =in the beginning, Rose.
Our Bible has a title. This book is about Jesus, the face of God. He is the head of the Church, the Proton, the first and the last.
