Thanks to your Vlog I was able to do this for my mom in less than 5 minutes. My 1st time ever. No mistakes. No fuss. And yours was the only video I clicked to watch. Very simple instructional video and a breeze to follow. I used paper clip method & felt like macguyver👍🏼 You're awesome, thank you!🤓
I'm one of those folks who have a hard time throwing things away. I couldn't easily find my 5S box, but I found my 3GS box. It had the SIM removal tool in it; I tried it on the 5S and it worked! Thanks!
My contract finished , so I changed the provider, had to put a new SIM card in. What a concise and clear explaination , thank you, from old bloke in Wales.
OMG THANK YOU SO MUCH YOU SAVED MY LIFE !!! I THOUGHT MY PHONE WAS ALREADY WANNA BE ACTING UP STUPID , & I BOUGHT MY IPHONE 5S 5 DAYS AGO , THANKS SO MUCH FOR THE HELP !!!!
This iPhone SE is my 1st smart phone. I’ve got the screen protector and the case and the activation kit for my service provider complete with the proper Nano SIM card ... and I’m stuck: How the heck do I get this phone open? Stuck like for 15 minutes! Until your simple, thorough video. Now I’m up and running~ happy as could be having joined the 21st century! Purpose of this comment: Ty for providing this demo on what clearly is a rudimentary lesson ... so rudimentary that the Apple site assumes the consumer knows how to find and open the SIM card slot [Am an Apple fan & not dissing Apple. Rather just noting how very “behind” I am tech-wise.] I particularly appreciate that you 1.) Recognized the need for this info i.e., that there remain folks like me who just don’t know the basics yet; 2.) that you presented the information methodically with clear camera shots and precise directives; & 3.) most of all, I appreciate your respectful tone towards your viewer: You do not presume we know, for instance what a “SIM Card Tray Removal Tool” is and what it looks like (I’d seen mine but couldn’t figure out if it had a function or was a part of the design packaging). In short, after viewing your video, I do not feel like an idiot. Just a beginner. Keep up the good work!
These instructions were perfect for my techless brain. THANK YOU SOOOOOOOOOOOO much for the close up shots too. My life tends to run about a decade behind the current date so I'm just now indulging in the iphone 5. Definitely WILL subscribe. I think I'll be listening to your voice and watching your hands alot in the next few weeks. You are AWESOME!!!
I don't know why people are complaining. I used a paper clip and it came out pretty easily. All I did was insert it, a small twist to the right and push. BTW Thanks for this video. My phone said No SIM Card Installed but this solved the problem :)
Dear God in Heaven, thank you. Did not have a small paper clup but a push pin worked. Thank you for telling me how to do it without a long introduction about who you are and why you are doing this video!!!!!
Thank for your thorough instructional video! I had an Invalid SIM prompt and I watched a video that said to clean it with a toothbrush then re-insert the SIM card, but I couldn't get it out. By watching your video I saw that I needed to use some force to pop it out. I cleaned the SIM card and voila, problem solved! Thanks my friend!
You have just saved my life! I couldn't figure out how to get the sim card tray out to check the water damage indicator, and THEN I couldn't figure out how to get it back in.
I opened my iphone 5s up to change the battery and it fell out. Then I panicked because I couldn't figure out what it was supposed to attach to. I am so happy to find out that it isn't actually a piece of my phone. So, anyway, maybe your tool is hiding inside your phone.
This is amazing. I got my first iPhone, let alone, a 5s today. I powered off for the first time and I got a "no sim card." But I watched your video and my life was saved! Hopefully it stays working, but now I know what to do. Thank you so so so so so much!
Boy, that ain't the easiest thing on earth, but the consensus is right, you need a paperclip (if you have the coloured ones just strip the plastic coating with nail clippers etc), some needle-nose pliers, and a fair bit of grunt. (Seriously, I'm 6'5" and I couldn’t do it without the pliers) Honestly, does Apple really think anyone's gonna be able to find that dumb tool again after the first use?!? There must be millions of them somewhere, maybe on an island with all the lost socks and luggage keys.
Michael Oberhofer It's sad to see that a year later you'd have to replace anything. My Iphone just hit 1 year and is crapping out on me. I had a Made in USA Motorola that never quit working. It just got outdated from the analog to digital.
This was fantastic. Thank you so much. I can't believe apple has designed this aspect of the phone so incredibly badly. Your explanation really really helped
I used a sewing pin with a thicker end and then used the wall to press the pin right in for pressure and POPPED came the sim card. Thanks!!! This was extremely helpful :D
Thank you! Your video saved my phone. After getting a "sim card failure" message after dropping my iphone in water, I was able to remove and then successfully reinstall the card. Luckily this was all my phone needed. Thanks again!
Thank you! My first smart phone and didn't have a clue how to get this little card into my phone. Great video for dummies. Thank you!!! For those of you that don't have the tool, go to an Apple store, surely they can give you one or get the card in for you. Again, great video!!!
That was great! I especially like how you did the medium shot of the work and followed immediately by a close up shot of the work, that makes it very easy to see what you are doing! Thanks....
Excellent video, I couldn't get my new SIM Card to fit, then when I watched your video about making sure the pin hole of the tray is on the left and then when you explained about aligning the card, I did it the first time! Thanks, It was driving me mad and I nearly gave up.
I used a goddamn paperclip and it won't do anything! :'( I'm going to the store(for phones lol) tomorrow to see if they have it Update: I pushed it like Hercules and it worked
i found one in the rain on the side of the road. cant figure out what ios its under, so having a hard time bypassing. think ima get the chords for it tomorrow. keep in touch.
Thank god for this video, youtube help videos in general. The instructions from my new cellular company were useless. But a youtube search to the rescue and someone who can really simply explain what to do. Thanks.
Thank you!!!! I thought it would be easy to do although I was a little nervous about it. Great video, well spoken, and you didn't talk to us like we were kindergartens. Although a kindergarten is pretty smart sometimes with these things. Have a great day!
After 40 minutes with Sprint tech support, they couldn't fix it and told me to to the repair center. Thanks to your video, our phone is working once again! Thanks!!!
Unless you get a person on the phone who really knows something they are mostly following pre-written instructions that do not necessarily work for everyone. PC tech support is like that a lot except now when you call them you get some friendly person in India who may be hard to understand. I have nothing against them at all but they are sometimes difficult to talk with especially over the phone. I like it when support is done via a chat just because it is easier and you also can print that out for later if you need support for the same problem again.
Thanks for making this video and for keeping it user friendly...I couldn't find a small enough paper clip, so ended up using a small key ring that I straighten out. Thanks again.
Thank you very much this helped me out.The last 2 days have been crazy.I've been resetting my phone and that helped but today resetting didn't help at all. After viewing you video I am up and running again!!!!Thanks for the post!

kind of a silly question...I'm just sayin'
Get one?
I think u can use a earring but I'm not sure
Step one, Get a fucking paper clip.
Dukin127 *Step Two:* There is no step two.
I used a sewing pin with a thicker end and then used the wall to press the pin right in for pressure and POPPED came the sim card. Thanks!!! This was extremely helpful :D
Informative and to the point. This answered my questions perfectly. Thank you sir.
Thank you! Your video saved my phone. After getting a "sim card failure" message after dropping my iphone in water, I was able to remove and then successfully reinstall the card. Luckily this was all my phone needed. Thanks again!

+Sharon Shea You're very welcome! RUclips is great! :)
+mypcblewup In spite of a lot of crap, RUclips is an amazing education in just about any subject.
+Sharon Shea I totally agree. Sometimes you have to stay out of the comments, but at other times there's lots of useful info in there as well.
+mypcblewup For history, economics, and technology, and home DIY it's been an amazing source.
Who’s here in 2021?
i have messed up twice with sim card installation and this video shows me exactly what i'm doing, thanks
I used my cats nail, boy is she pissed at me. She will get over it or scratch my eyes out, one of the two .... good kitty.
This instruction is clear and applicable to all iPhones not just the 5 series.

RUBADUB09 women ffs

Thanks for that simple solution. Simple if you've done it before, a bear without the video.
Thank you for the easy to follow explanation on how to remove the Sim card. It's greatly appreciated.
Thanks! The details about hole being on the left & the contacts being down were what I was missing!
+Kelley Ribbe Glad to help!
Thanks!!!

Thanks for the advice I didn't know where the SIM card slot was I got my iPhone five yesterday this was very helpful thanks!
Although I have the 6S Plus, I found this very useful. It came with the tool so I'll be all set. I'm changing telephone numbers. Thank you!
Excellent tutorial, saved me a lot of headache. I just bought a Palm phone and want to see it works for me.
Thank you very much! Have a feeling I'm not going to be the only one watching this video today! Merry Christmas to all :)
Thanks so much for the clip - i thought I would have to go back to the shop to get it sorted and you've saved me a trip!
what if you have like a track phone will the sim card work for the iPhone 5s?
Thanks for making this video and for keeping it user friendly...I couldn't find a small enough paper clip, so ended up using a small key ring that I straighten out. Thanks again.
i didn't know which way my sim card was suppose to face when inserting into the iPhone so this video was very helpful, thanks!!
You made my IPhone 5S that I got for Christmas to work! This is brilliant thank you ever so much! Xxxxxxxx
Excellent
I didnt know the pin was in that folder until I saw this video!
Thanks mate
Thank you for the video, was trying for 10 minutes to open it!
Concise and quick and no music.. perfect!
Thank you very much this helped me out.The last 2 days have been crazy.I've been resetting my phone and that helped but today resetting didn't help at all. After viewing you video I am up and running again!!!!Thanks for the post!
Ah, never mind. I tried again and it finally popped out. Thanks for your video!
Thanks a million! The only instructions that came with the iPhone were a terse command to "install the sim card" and one diagram showing how to open the sim compartment with the tool that looks like part of a paperclip. It would have been nice to know how to orient the sim card. But your video was just the right information!
REALLY push! Don't be afraid of breaking it because you wont, but I struggled for about 15 minutes before I gave it a good amount of force and then it worked on the first try!
Thanks brother, Excellent tutorial. Appreciate it. We old dudes need all the tech help we can get. LOL
+Z. Jakl You're welcome. Glad to help!
Thank you so much for this video. My IPhone did not have a paperclip with it. Your video was very helpful in teaching me how to use a regular small paperclip to open the sim card tray. It was so easy!! :)
I used a straight hat pin to remove the sim card. The removal worked, as you described. Thanks!
Thank you. Really useful video. Close ups and repeating process is so helpful.
Thank God for people like you! 10/10
Thank you. I don't know how I did life before RUclips.
You're welcome
I'm an idiot. Wish I had looked for this earlier. Bought a well priced demo unit for less than 1/4 of the original price. Thought I needed a special screwdriver to get into it. I bought one el cheapo one. Waited a whole week for delivery! Maybe I should have read the manual first- or watched THIS RUclips item. Thanks heaps. A lesson learned.
You're welcome 👍🏻
Thank you, I found that clear and direct. It popped out straight away, I hadn't been pushing the screwdriver in hard enough
:)
Great Video. Exactly the video I needed to insert my Sim Card.
This was very helpful!
My phone didn't even come with that tool!
And yes, the perfect size it's actually a large plastic paper clip stripped bare, the large paper clip is too thick and the small bends.
Thanks!
