My partner’s mum is the worst. She’s here for the month of August. She put down a bunch of poison all over the terrace - obsessed with killing insects. I have a chihuahua who was in and out all day. I didn’t know what she had done until the smell reached me in my home office. When I asked her if she had put poison down she lied to my face insisting for at least ten minutes that she had not. I finally got it out of her but she was as cold as stone. I heard her later saying on the phone, if the dog dies, she can just go to the pound and get another one. The next day she pushed her heavy chair into the little dog house where he was sleeping. Two more inches and she would have killed him. Needless to say, I am looking for a new place to live, and am saying goodbye to the man who won’t stand up to her.
